Description

As the title suggests, you will require a Pathtag to access the Log. I am aware that not everyone will have Pathtags. So this may not be for everyone. Once at GZ, the object will be very straight forward. Bring a Pathtag, place the Pathtag....sign the Logbook, Claim a find. There is limited room for swaps. If any swaps are placed, please make sure they fit inside the container provided that has the logbook inside.

NOTE: Once the Pathtag is used to operate the cache. There is no retriving it. Hence the name.

To CLAIM a FTF the Pathtag number MUST be recorded on the Log book.

The Cache requires the finder to bring 4 x AA BATTERIES (preferably Alkaline NOT rechargeable). So all efforts have been made to allow this cache to operate autonomously. However this may not always be the case. If for any reason the log cannot be accessed. Please email me here and I will check for authenticity and allow the find. As this is placed very close to home, maintaining the cache will be regular.

For a little bit of background, I have been wanting create a cache like this for a long time. To me this is combining my love of Outdoors and Electronics. Depending on how robust this cache is. I will possibly remove it from time to time to revise the build quality. This will be reflected in the logs.

Please enjoy this cache.  Happy Gadgeting. :)   Trimbletas

Logs

Cache has been disabled for a while, so we'll archive it to stop cachers looking for something that isn't there. When the cache is back in place, the CO can re-instate the hide by un-archiving it.

After looking at this cache, found that it needs some TLC. Will try and maintain this ASAP.

Popped out to find this cache first thing today, armed with the appropriate hardware.
With all in place...popped the pathtag in to see the cache magically revealed....everything worked perfectly.
A very clever and superbly set up cache....the best driveby I've seen....awesome.
Pathtag # 6953658

Many thanks for the special cache Trimbletas....very much appreciated.....cheers ST.

I left home this morning prepared to do this cache and lose a pathtag- it was my Journey or Destination game one - still in its plastic bag when I found it. Purchased new batteries and I was set to go! This one was the last one of the day - a great one to finish on. TFTC

On our way to the CITO this morning SSR and I had a few caches around Turners Beach we wanted to find plus coffee! This cache was great and so was the coffee at the cafe so a good start to the morning. I cracked open the batteries and loaded them up. I brought a couple of pathtags along and in went a whitewebbs spare. It all worked like clockwork so no were were required, but I did hand over one of mine as well Smile
I thoroughly enjoyed this clever cache. Clever on its mechanism and clever that the COs pathtag collection will be growing nicely. Thanks for popping out for a chat Trimbletas, good to meet you! I appreciate the effort you have put into making this cache for us to enjoy.

Damn, it really did cost me a pathtag. What a novel cache. We are on a caching trip to North West and made the route specifically to pick this one up from an easy direction.
Should have told Mrs T to come out and say hello
Thanks Trimbletas for the cache Very HappyVery HappyVery HappyDancingDancingClappingClappingLaughingLaughing

We had planned to come North to visit family in Launceston over the weekend but decided to take the long way detouring via Sisters Creek and Tullah to collect 2 dragon zones we did not have. Along the way we targeted a few caches and this was one of them. I have had my eye on this cache since it was published and this was the first opportunity to stop. If we had stopped on the way through it would have been daylight but we wanted to get the furthest caches first. On the way back it was dark. We followed the instructions by torchlight but the pathtag disappeared into the gadget and no logbook was forthcoming. We contacted the CO who graciously appeared and another pathtag was donated and it worked perfectly. We can't have been holding our mouth right! A very cleverly constructed cache. It was nice to meet the CO and stop for a quick chat. There were so many caches we went past as time was limited, but it gives us a reason to return. We travelled over 700 km and are still not home. Returned to this one today and again failed to open it with our pathtag [7361576 - Oz Mega Wagga Wagga]. Did get it open on our second attempt though and think we worked out why we were unsuccessful before.
Thanks Trimbletas, like the effort made with this one.

Hi Beetles, I checked this morning after the heavy rain last night. Anxious I placed 4 AA batteries in and the cache operated as expected. Dancing I am happy for you to claim a find I can add your name to the log as a pathtag was found inside. Smile Otherwise if you would like to visit again I am usually home after 5.30pm.

Attempted this one today but it cost us more than a pathtag!!!! After placing the batteries in the holder and putting in our pathtag a noise was heard and a light flashed but nothing else was forthcoming. We only brought one pathtag with us so we tried again with a 10cent piece. Again we heard a noise and saw the light but nothing happened. Will keep an eye on this one and try again once we notice some other cacher has had some success.
Like the idea though and think we worked out how this one would work. Reminded us of the wonderful caches in Denmark in Western Australia that require a battery to open them.
Thanks.

Hi Trimbletas
A road trip with Budge had us travel through the Highlands in order for me to collect those GCA caches I had not yet found
As we travelled the road; we followed a small 4W Drive toeing a trailer
Passed them and they passed us again while we did a cache at a Special Place
We continued on to to this GZ location when we noticed that same 4W Drive and trailer pull in behind us
It so happened that it was a neighbour (a painter who lived just up the road from the cache) - bit of a coincidence don't you thing?
Sainted the cache at 1040 hours
Loved the construction and function of this cache
Yes! Only Pathtags work!!
A great cache; well worth the travel to log it - THANKS
Now onto our next find
TFTC and cheers

A huge day out and about caching while the 10x points offer was available. Pity this wasnt announced further in advance and them maybe people could have made an epic run for some of the many caches in other states. Disadvantages by the water again!!!

What a great cache - 5 thumbs up from me. well created and the operation was perfect

On our way home from Launceston for family duties, made a quick detour off the highway and found a very nicely constructed gadget cache. Inserted the batteries and nothing happened, had a bit of fiddle with them, still nothing so had a chat to the CO. Turns out rechargeable batteries won't do the trick. So with a minor adjustment and the donation of a pathtag we were finally able to sign the logbook. Thanks Trimbletas for a great gadget cache

After a week of this being in operation. I have had to make tweaks to the powering of the unit. The cache now requires 4x AA batteries for you to access the log. As per the name, a Pathtag is also required still. Smile

We noticed the publication of this cache while we were in Hobart meeting our older daughter when she returned from almost 5 months at Casey Base in Antarctica. It attracted our interest. After a busy morning we decided we simply had to go and investigate. So armed with several pathtags we made our way to GZ where we spotted an interesting construction. Mr Y'stassie spent a few minutes inspecting the hide before we inserted one of our pathtags. We watched and we listened but nothing appeared to have happened. We gave several places a gentle prod, still nothing. We thought we knew what should happen but the container remained closed and the log out of reach. Well we had several other tags so in goes another - nothing noticeable happens again. More gentle pushes and prod but nothing budges. What now? Follow instructions and email CO before heading to Wynyard to replace a log book.

On our way received an email from CO and organised to met later to find out what was or wasn't happening. Off to Sisters Beach and three recently published caches. Once these were found it was back to Turners Beach where we found CO and his off-sider. Drill in hand we were shown the construction and how it should work. After a few minor adjustments the gadget cache was working smoothly and we were able to access the log. A {FTF} for us at 17:35.

Thanks for this cache Trimbletas, we admire your electronic and construction skills. It was good to catch up again after such a long break and to meet your partner. We look forward to more of your caches appearing in our neighborhood.

Yes it will cost you a pathtag but its well worth it.
