AR - Caringbah Mines

Before Robin Reserve became a reserve, it was a clay pit. The clay pit was filled in with dirt once it had run out and it is now a sports field surrounded by a playground and a scouts hall.

According to stories, a monitoring system was put in place to monitor the status of the compressed dirt at the bottom. It was protected by a distortion field not much different from the one used by Torchwood in Cardiff. Because mobile phone cameras are not affected by this distortion field, it will be possible to visit the area and go down the monitoring building.

To obtain the codeword for this cache, you'll need an iPhone or iPad (iPhone 6S and higher or iPad Pro and higher) and the ARGeocaching app available from the App Store.

1. Go to a rather large area like a sports field or park. You will need about 20 meters ahead of you and 30 meters to your left.
2. Start the app, select the "GA12490 - Caringbah Mines" and find the entrance.
3. Get the escalator up, enter the escalator and go down. Make sure you are inside and keep your hands away from the wall!
4. At the bottom, find the chest.
5. From the chest, obtain the codeword and the final coordinates.

Once the codeword has been obtained and the coordinates have been revaled, the phsyical cache can be found and this cache can be logged once the logbook has been signed.
