New Zealand's longest running annual caching event is back. Just the same as last year this is an Easter get together near Springs Junction (between ChCh, Nelson and the West Coast), to discuss and enjoy some geocaching. The difference is that this year the event is being run on ANZAC weekend, a couple of weeks after easter, in order to allow those who wish to to attend the Wagga Wagga Mega Event in Australia.

The coordinates for this EarthCache will lead you to a sculpture at the edge of beautiful Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown. You will find an information plaque nearby with the answers you need to log this as a find.

The sculpture was commissioned as a memorial to the two major floods experienced by Queenstown since European settlement. The sculpture represents a core sample from the area during the most recent flood event.
