<text>This isn't a trig and if we let this one in, then there are dozens if not hundreds of these 3 yellow pole type places in the ACT that others could then register and I think that it would devalue **real trigs**.

Having said that, it could be a GCA virtual owned by you but not a trig point. These sort of things normally get done in a locationless cache that could be called "ACT survey stations"</text>

PLEASE do not pick it up if you can't put it back out quickly!!

It will start out in Yarralumla, Canberra and may just move around the ACT and nearby NSW. We would like it to achieve the most moves during the race. So, short quick relocations will be appreciated.

We are hoping the ACT caching community will get behind this entry in its quest to achieve the most moves?

This cache is to be moved from post box to post box. It should be hidden so as to not be obvious and 'blend' in to the chosen box. The special camo paint will help!

For example, on a standard urban post box mounted on a pole is can be placed underneath and out of sight. On others it can be placed on the side, but will need to be away from prying eyes and fingers!

If possible pick it up, sign the log, drop at a new location (don't forget to take coordinates) and log all in one fell swoop!

Let the race begin....... a quick game is a good game!

<text>To celebrate the last day of the Moveable Cache Race we are organising an impromptu afternoon tea and cache exchange at S35 18.280 E149 07.360. The idea is for all the Moveable Caches that are currently in the ACT to come together for a quick cup of tea and a cache 'swap in swap out'. Meeting time is 3pm, today, 31 January 2010. The above location has easy access and carparking available. So grab a Moveable Cache and cup of tea and come on over.</text>

<text>Today's impromptu afternoon tea and cache exchange was quite a success with 6 out of the 7 caches currently located in the ACT attending. Unfortunately due to a service in progress at the time, Black Bunny was unable to retrieve Blossom and escort it to the afternoon tea. I am happy to report that all caches conducted themselves in a very cache like manner and a good time was had by all. After much discussion and bidding farewell to each other the caches and cachers dispersed. Thanks to everyone who attended. I am attaching a few photos from today. </text>

<text>Yes, this is an interesting location!

According to my sources, the ACT Government, frustrated with the blandness of the standard urban post box, commissioned a design competition to come up with a new, innovative and exciting design. This was the winning entry. However, at the time, there were tensions in the Commonwealth/Territory relations and this did not get the support it deserved. I think a bilateral agreement on the matter was mooted?

The ACT Government, not to be deterred, then put this prototype (sans slot) on display in the hope it would come to be seen as the ideal modern post box and the Commonwealth might change its mind.

I don't think this has happened, yet.........

PS. Don't try to post a letter when you are doing the pick up but if you can put it back on track that would be good!</text>

The cache is a 200ml Sistema container (now black) containing an Australian Flag GC, our pathtag and a small certificate for FTF, a pathtag and a certificate for 2TF and 20 or so finders' cards. It does have some nice strong magnets but does not necessarily need to be hidden/attached using these.

The race is from 1/12/2009 to 31/1/2010 so it would be appreciated if finders can move it on quickly far and wide within Australia during this period.

Much better off-road than an electric bike, but from my recollection when the Army were using a similar item the range is quite limited, you might get TO a cache and then have to carry the durned thing back. </text>

"Suspicious package
Traders and shoppers were evacuated for more than three hours as the ACT Bomb Squad investigated a suspicious package at Hawker shops. It is believed the package was taped to a mailbox located on the strip. Police were called in at about 11:40am yesterday, establishing a 100m exclusion zone. The package was deemed non-suspicious shortly after 3pm."</text>

<text>If no-one objects, I will archive this Trig point.

Firstly, I eventually worked out by getting close enough (Coming in off Majura Rd), it is on private farmland.

Secondly, this is the fun bit, access can be gained to either near or to this trig by no less than 8 routes, of which 2 are impassable past Security guards, and 6 are through the "NO ENTRY - FIRING RANGE"; signs/gates. And then, 4 of these approaches will get you on the wrong side of "THE FENCE";, the other 2 will get you closer on the right side of "THE FENCE"; but once again, (after you have gone through the FIRING RANGE (even past TankEngine's former FF cache), ), private property to get to the trig. The Sutton Rd accesses are also NO ENTRY - FIRING RANGE!!!!! Got all that?

So, any objections to it being archived?

Thanks McKenna for showing me this lovely park (surprised that someone else hadn't already put a cache nearby). The hide was novel and thanks very much for the effort you went to create it.

I saw 2 swans and their 2 cygnets this morning - lovely.

I think this cache will live harmoniously with its neighbours after all.

I came across this location when walking from 1007 to Southern Views and decided that it would be a good location for my first cache.

The cache is a small 10x10x5cm plastic container that is very well hidden.

The cache is NOT hidden under or behind a rock, so don't tear the place apart looking for it (when you get there you'll understand why I stress this). and no posting that give away the surprise at the end.

There isn't much room for swapping, but the first finder should take the wombat as a prize.

Complete the trivia challenge and enjoy the views.

Gday and welcome to the Aussie Trivia multi cache (small swaps only).

This cache hunt will provide you with some stunning views of Gungahlin and its surrounding districts, not to mention a nice spot for a cache.

In order to successfully complete this find, you need to know the answers to 10 Aussie Trivia questions shown below.

Record the answers to each question A to J. The answers will be needed to calculate the location of the cache.

Do you know your 11 times tables???? This will come in handy.

Those of you who are Aussie Trivia 'legends' will known the answers to a lot of the questions already, but those who are somewhat trivia challenged (like myself) will need to do a little googling to find the answers.

When you find the cache and log your entry, please include the number of questions that you knew off the top of your head......and let's be honest!

The 10 Aussie Trivia Questions are as follows:

A. What year did Phar Lap win the Melbourne Cup?
B. How many ships made up the First Fleet?
C. What is the height of Mount Kosciuszko (in metres)?
D. What is the sum of the points of all the stars on the Australian Flag?
E. What was the day and month (ddmm) Ned Kelly was hanged at old Melbourne Gaol?
F. How many runs did David Hookes score in his debut test innings?
G. How old was Sidney Nolan when he died?
H. How many Senators make up the Australian Senate?
I. What weight (in kilograms) did Dean Lukin lift in the clean and jerk to win Gold at the 1984 Olympics?
J. How many days were there in the year vegemite was invented?

At the starting coordinate, Mr Hardie is impounded, but he will still give you a 5 digit number......only if the entrance is closed! Take a note of the number.

To obtain the South coordinate of the cache, perform the following calculation and add the result to the original South coordinate:
(C-A) - (E/B) - D - (sum of Mr Hardie digits but excluding the penultimate digit).

To obtain the East coordinate of the cache, perform the following calculation and subtract the result from the original East coordinate:
(J-I) + (G-H) - F + (the ultimate Mr Hardie digit).

Please return the cache to its home as you found it. Why not take some lunch along with you and enjoy the views while you are at it.

Happy hunting! Regards...mrpieman
