CORS station, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

A quick find early this morning.

Pretty sure I was illegally parked in the extra lane in front of the CORS, but it was just a matter of 10 seconds or so for the photo.

Wow this 1 isn’t the easiest to find parking & do the walk – got they’re in the end, GPS photo shot in car & trig shot at GZ – a interesting 1 completed on a Saturday arvo after work - thanks Clan Griffin

Easy find!

Drove down here for the photo after a few other local caches a touch further north. Parking a bit tricky here so had to stop a bit west and walk down 100 meters or so. Then it was easily spotted. Cheers.

No problem spotting this one as it is very close to the foot path on River Ave.

#GA418 - 14:45; I suggested to Sol de lune some time back that we should do a day run to Sydney to pick up some of the GCA trigs and caches on offer. A couple of weeks ago we identified an opportunity timing wise and so it was that we made our way north today, collecting a total of 32 trigs for the day. We were able to park across the street for a clear view of this one. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

A day trip planned with LuckyL10n to start grabbing a few trigs in different areas of Sydney. Hit Campbelltown, Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown today...and grabbed a total of 32. Back in a couple of months for another go.

Almost parked next it, so no problems here and the photos were soon grabbed.

Cerberus rules here. ClappingVery HappyClan Cerberus

2TF and my first of these new CORS Trigs. Was teaching in the area and picked up a Trig, Munzee and Gnome on route home. I think these are OK for trigs. Cant wait til I find one up a hill though Wink Seems altitude and line of sight are not really priorities Razz
