Description
Rob Roy Survey Control Station, Rob Roy Nature Reserve, Rob Roy Range. Three Yellow concrete post surrounding a survey control station benchmark set in concrete. Elevation 1087m.
(Can you see my Mountain Bike blended in in there?)

The walk up is lengthy, 4km from the gate at the water tank at the back of Banks, ACT.
During winter this area often has snow, though it doesn't last normally for more than a few days.
From the top you can see Canberra and make out Telstra Tower, Lake Burley Griffin and the Captain Cook Jet and Parliament House.
On a clear day, from locations on the way up to this Trig, you can see Mt Bimberi to the West, Bowning Hill NW of Yass, and just great views. The trig location itself is obscured by trees.
NOTE - This SURVEY point is NOT the ROB ROY TRIG point at the TOP of Mt. ROB ROY. That Trig point is actually the PEAK of the Rob Roy Range, and is about 500m Sth of this survey marker, and is about 200m off the track up there.
That Trig point is Waypoint 5000 in Geocaching Australia.

Having said that, it could be a GCA virtual owned by you but not a trig point. These sort of things normally get done in a locationless cache that could be called "ACT survey stations"
I just remembered this OLD TRIG/SURVEY point, so up I go again on the MTB, this time with my GPS to get the coords. Always enjoy the ride down too, Coooeeeee.
