Description
Mount Sam is located just outside of Omea in Eastern Victoria. It is located on Mount Sam Track off Connleys Road. Its a well made track to the top and most cars should be able to access the site without getting too muddy.
The site offers spectacular views accross the high country towards Falls Creek and Hotham and snow can be seen during the colder months. The site has a couple of antenna's, a fire tower and a locked hut which is presumably there for the fire spotters over summer.
This is not so much the typical trig point, the fire tower itself acts as the trig station, with its assosiated benchmark located underneath. Good luck and I hope that you enjoy the views!

4th visit to Omeo over the years, but first op to go up there. The dirt road up is possibly the smoothest I have ever driven.

Great view! Can even see pockets of snow on the distant mountains.
Two fire towers here plus a Telstra communications tower. Could see the marker under the older tower but couldn't get real close because of fence.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
