14-Oct-17
Unhappy situational circumstances means this cache will be archived. So sad after 12 years but the circumstance can no longer be accepted.

18-Sep-17
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

18-Sep-17
Several cachers have reported an active bee-hive near to GZ which poses a significant danger. The cache is also permanently damaged and the log is unable to be signed and any temporary replacement log is probably going to get damaged as well.

This is a great location for a cache so I'm hoping CO is able to re-locate on the same site so more cachers have the chance to come here and discover this little part of the countryside that time forgot...at least until the developers arrive!!

If CO is unable to make it to GZ for any reason, pls PM me as I'm often in the area and I'm more than happy to re-locate it and make the necessary repairs so the cache can be made available again.

18-Sep-17
The geocache should not have a rock holding it in place. It should be well above ground. I will check it out shortly and if necessary replace the hide and the container. It looks like the cache has not been returned to the correct hiding place by a previous finder.

17-Sep-17
This was our first find, was Easy to find.
Log book is all wet and soggy so couldn't log our names.

16-Sep-17
Out caching with Simsfamily from Werribee to Truganina and everywhere in between with the usual encouraging banter.
Seems like this location was forgotten about then in recent yrsused again.
It's spring and the bees are busy at GZ. Seems that the original hide location is damaged as well as the cache leaving the log very wet. Due to the bees we couldn't return it to where we thought it originated but tried to protect it from the elements before leaving.

Thanks for the cache caughtatwork

In the area today on some personal business, so at least one cache was on the cards. Had a look on the map and this was the closest. Not knowing the area at all, it was a nice pleasant drive here. Unfortunately the 2 log books have joined into one pulpy block. I managed to scribble my name in, not to successfully though. On a side note, the bees are still there !! TFTC caughtatwork Big Grin

24-Apr-17
The 2 logbooks are totally soaked and I could not sign either of them
The lid of cache has been cracked and I drained the water out and turned the cache upside down
Needs a new lid and logbook

23-Apr-17
The top of the container has cracked, probably from one of the rocks used for camo. The log is thoroughly drenched and although I poured the water out, it is truly ruined and requires replacement.

23-Apr-17
As I had to work today I thought I would pick up a couple of caches when the roads in the area would be quiet
I never knew that there was a cemetery in the area and I had a look around and found a fair bit of history of the area
Thanks caught at work for bringing me here TFTC

22-Apr-17
We tried to get this one a few weeks back but approached it from Leakes Rd which was never gonna work. This evening we decided to have another look from the right side and this time we were successful. It's interesting to see the history of this area which is so far removed from the factories and urban sprawl that defines the current epoch. The nearby sports "complex" and Mechanics Institute just adds to this.

Unfortunately the top of the container has cracked, probably from one of the rocks used for camo. The recent rains have thoroughly filled the container including the Ziploc bag containing the logbook. The log is thoroughly drenched and although I poured the water out, returned the cache on its side and recovered with something less heavy, the cache is well and truly ruined and requires replacement. I didn't have my cache repair kit with me, just my humble scribblestick.

03-Apr-17
Being in the area we headed over. Looks like it has some old and new use. The location of GZ was soon spotted along with the container which is starting to age. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

Nice the little corner to check out some history. tFTH

I am on the way to an event in Ballarat. Took the detour to this interesting spot, to break the journey. Read all the headstones and paid my respects to old and new graves.
Greetings from France.

The geopup and I headed out on a nice day to find somewhere to swim. On our way to the beach we stopped and grabbed a few caches. Lovely little spot that you wouldn't even know is there without a reason to stop. Love these old cemeteries, nice to see this one is still in use. Thanks for the reason to stop.

06-Feb-17
An interesting cemetery in a spot I would never have known about. Thanks caughtatwork for bringing me to this area.

20-Jan-17
Very cool cache, interesting location. Good that no one was there to scare me to dead in the darkness Very Happy

29-Dec-16
Wow amazing place would never of known this was there. Took nothing left nothing.

26-Dec-16
Facinating place. I signed the log and took nothing but time to read some head stones. Be careful of the bees.

04-Jul-16
Good find. However it freaked me out coz I found it a bit too close to a bees nest. Maybe another time of year the bees won't be there. Take care people.

27-Jun-16
Sadly we couldn't get to this cache as there was a hive of bees and we couldn't get close enough! Gorgeous old place though, we'll get back to look again! TFTC

25-Jun-16
Never knew this cemetery existed so tftc. Brought the geo kids with me for this one so they could see the cemetery. I'm surprised empty it is. My youngest daughter was fascinated there is dead people living there. Made me laugh so hard when she said that. Any way we found the cache easily and i climbed the tree. Even though there was heaps of bees they didn't bother me at all, i guess they was in a good mood today. Log signed and cache returned. Highlight of my day.

**Big Grin Smile # *3655* / Traditional # *2829* Big Grin**

While I was in the area today collecting some goodies for the geo daughter, I thought I would collect a few caches around. I started with a few DNF's before finally making one smile for me. I parked the now filthy geo vehicle outside the gate and made my way in, so very wet here. Not too many souls around, and I made the quick find on this nice hide. Signed and replaced as found.

**Thanks for this trad cache, caught at work** [^]
**Cache and log in good condition**

Found this cache a few months ago but couldn't reach it to log it and count it as a find. With Geodads encouragement and a bit of help I managed to climb the tree (a first in many years) What a great cache. Took Big Bird toy added racket and ball on string toy and a kinder surprise toy. TFTC. This cache gets a favourite point from me. It was great looking at and reading all the headstones. Some and really old. I didn't even know we had a cemetery out here.

22-Apr-16
Thanks for the good cache, caughtatwork. No bees today, but I brought gloves along just in case. I brought a step ladder too and was glad I did! SL TN LN. The cache is in good shape.

In the area to count blades on windmills. I had found the last one I needed to see. I had no idea where I was really so took at a look at the map and saw 2 caches close by. This was the closest. When I got to the gates of the cemetery I could see a driving trail directly to the cache. Seeing as the gates are locked I can't work out how they are here. So I walked over and only disturbed the crickets. At GZ there appears to be a bees nest forming on the side of the tree. I'm not allergic so set about my hunt. They didn't bother me. Just a pesky fly. I spotted the cache and was able to retrieve, log and return it without issue. I like a cemetery cache. Tftc

13-Mar-16
Catching up on a few late logs (something not that unusual for me). As always, I enjoyed the journey to find the cache, mostly I have been in the company of Team Crackers, maccamob, alansee and the Coffee's, but occasionally I have gone out solo to soak in the solitude of being out in the fresh air.

Thanks caughtatwork for placing this cache.

I've spent a lot of time in cemeteries – I like to walk around reading the gravestones. A lifetime ago I used to sneak into Melbourne General Cemetery and sit atop the Elvis memorial at night. Then something really freaky and eerie happened and I vowed never to do it again! I have to say this is probably the most bizarre cemetery I've ever visited, with just a handful of graves scattered around a paddock. And it's old too. After a quick walk around manzie and I headed off to GZ. As we neared we heard the distinct buzz of bees getting louder. Then I saw it. A hive right at GZ. Great. Awesome spot for the bees – the sickly-sweet stench of honey was evident from more than 20m away. The tree must be full of honey! I have a phobia of bees and other buzzy-creatures, and manzie has been stung once too often. He's been stung by a wasp right in between the eyes. That was just a little bit amusing, served him right taking on the wasps, lol! Anyway, I digress. We circled the tree and looked up. Poop. Manzie was going to have to climb the buzzy-bee tree. "No way, I'm not getting stung again. And if I disturb them when climbing they may swarm and attack. That happens you know." Yes, I know. If only he considered that last time he was stung. I am beginning to think he may have actually learned his lesson! "That's okay," I say. "It's not worth getting attacked by buzzy-bees. We'll just come back another day." I turn my back for a minute and next thing I know he's got the cache in his hands [:o] He shrugs. "Well it looks like the hive has been there for quite a while. I don't think they'll be going anywhere soon." Hmm, he hasn't learnt his lesson after all. Lucky for me Smile I signed the log and manzie was tasked with returning the cache without getting stung. Success Smile Thanks for bringing us here – always appreciate a new cemetery to explore! And to our complete surprise, a muggle came and visited a grave while we were there. Didn't expect that at all – the whole place feels neglected and forgotten – it's nice to know that someone actually does remember a person buried here ... TFTC!

06-Mar-16
I found it, couldn't reach it. As a child I lived in woods road before the 1969 fires. I would walk the road picking wild flowers to place on all the graves. Fond memories

04-Mar-16
I found it but couldn't reach it. Great hiding spot

Our passion for caching took us away from the hubbub of Christmas commercialism, into the wilds of Wyndham Vale and Tarneit for the day as we waited for the Wyndham Lights 2015 to make their appearance. The sign by the gate, indicating strict visiting hours had us laughing all the way to the cache and back.

FEEDBACK TO CO: Cache OK but looks like someone was a bit enthusiastic in accessing outer container - side is missing.

Our thanks to caughtatwork for bringing us to this location.

Yay! 7000 cache finds! Coincidently I was up a tree for my 6000th find as well...
Interesting place. Lots of room for more dead people. They must have been anticipating a big town here...

Wow. The most dangerous cache. Bees at GZ and a protective magpie. Approach with caution. TFTC.

11-Sep-15
Wow! This is an amazing site and hide. Very pleased to retrieve from the bee guardians. Thanks Smile

07-Sep-15
Came for a visit with geo dog only to find a massive bee hive where we need to be.
Not really wanting to risk the dangers of the local nest. We came, we saw, we buzzed.
Looks like a great cache, look forward to finding a few more like it, with less of a buzz of course.

Very fun to find allthough lots of bees around the area so we were unable to get it out.

31-Aug-15
Easy find, although i did get swooped by a less then keen magpie who seems to have claimed the GZ. Nothing a quick retrieve and a large stick couldnt fix. The surrounding fields are in bloom so the whole area is a sea of yellow flowers. Tftc.

31-Aug-15
A great way to end a sucessful day of caching.

30-Aug-15
I respect the effort that the owner has gone to in order to bump up the difficulty rating for this one. The beehive is a nice touch, with a multitude of bees buzzing in and around, all as busy as.... bees. I climbed up next to the hive, being careful not to accidentally fall and plant my face firmly into the hole. Success.

The next hurdle was an easy one, as the original hide seems to have deteriorated, and the cache is visible from the ground. So retrieve and log, and back it went.

I must admit that the magpie swooping on me as I departed was a surprise, but again kudos to the owner for setting this up. However, by walking softly and carrying a big stick, I managed to escape unscathed, and also avoided the minefield that was undoubtedly dispersed around the tree.

I took an angry bird TB from the cache, which now seems strangely ironic.

Thanks caughtatwork!

Our centennial cache! A good, if not eerie, find at night. Lightmetre was there as always and needed a hug to not get spooked. Tftc. Left a tb for further adventures in Melbourne.

11-Aug-15
Perfect cache to be Crazometer and I's 100th! VERY spooky. TFTC.

Late night run to this one is a must. Slap on some creepy soundscape music on your phone and you'll have a ball. Yes....bees.

Out for a day of caching with the goal of doing the cache series at Eynesbury. This cache had pricked my interest with the number of favourite points so stopped by garb it. The cemetery was quiet in the predawn darkness with the only sounds coming from the occasional car, truck or train. Using my headlamp and clue, quickly spotted the nice cache in the heavens. SL & replaced. TFTC!

Spiffy- and I embarked on a 900km round day trip from Melbourne to Stawell then Hamilton and Mortlake. This was a planned cache on our route. We arrived at GZ at dark and made our way to the cache. An interesting cemetry with plenty of room and either very old or recent graves. Found the cache after using hint. Thanks caughtatwork for the cache.

09-Jul-15
A long one day road trip today for Fleabag- and I to finish off our dates placed calendar, more importantly our P81 Difficulty / Terrain grid as well and also a few LGA zones for Fleabag- towards his LGA Challenge cache. We left home at 5am and drove over 900 kms today and finished about 7pm and completed both goals so it was an awesome day.
We were right nearby this one on the way home tonight gathering some clues from a nearby windmill for a multi we are doing on the weekend on a trip up to Canberra.
What an unusual cemetery with random graves placements everywhere.
GZ was quite a hard terrain 2 but managed to find it in the dark.
Thanks caughtatwork for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Last find of the day as MrsBlackDuck and I were heading home. She had already found this one, but she brought me by anyway because she said it was a good one. And she was right. A beautiful little cemetery. But the tree with the bees scared the bejesus out of me. MrsBlackDuck wasn't so afraid and clambered up for me. Part of the item concealing the container was found on the ground tangled in a nasty spiky branch that had blown in from somewhere. The hide is now intact! The bees sure were busy today, but not on the side of the tree we needed. Thank you for bringing us to this lovely quiet old cemetery.

21-Apr-15
Thank you for bringing me here, i have lived in the area for quite some time, and didn't know this cemetery existed, yet there are head stones from the 1800's. What a beautiful little cemetery, quite a peaceful resting place, loved the hiding spot, loved the cach! TFTC!

Oh my god I freaked out a little when I saw the bees going in and out of the tree here. Please be wary of them. A very quiet area and something I never knew was here. Seeking heaven, I clambered up to the CCCC and retrieved the log book. Signed and returned to it's peaceful resting place. TFTC.

26-Jan-15
Another interesting spot that caching has lead us to today and glad to do this one during daylight. Mr Stormcatcher spotted the beehive and it was literally a hive of activity. Future hunters be very careful around GZ as it wouldn't be very pleasant to disturb these little guys. With a bit of caution we were able to make the small climb and get our names on the logbook. We always love these type of hides. Thanks for the little adventure caughtatwork

The cache may be called 'Seeking Heaven' but I think tonight, I was seeking hell!
I have taken it upon myself to find a cache every day for a month, starting at the start of this year.
To some, that's nothing, to me, it's an accomplishment.
After a very busy day, I wanted to just grab a close to home hide.
That wasn't to avail. DNF =[
So I kept driving in the direction I already was facing.
Being by myself it's a bit hard to look at the map/app and drive/navigate all at once.
So just keep paying attention to the road, I'll stop eventually and look up another smiley to claim.
I drove past many. But this one had lots of fav points. Appealing.
I drove within 2-300m and couldn't go no more. I couldn't see much as it was very late. So did a decent detour to end up on the other side of the road closure.... oh.... I think I could have walked.... oh well. Here now.
Armed with only my phone torch, I headed in.... wow.... creepy.... I shouldn't be here alone and at this time. Buuuuttt I trekked on, I'm tough and I was fast running out of time before it was tomorrow.
I could cheat, but I'm only cheating myself, so no, I don't want to do that, I want to do it properly.
The grass is long and it was VERY dark. In only thongs, I compassed myself towards GZ as best, respectfully and as safely as I could.
With the terrain, I probably should have worn more appropriate footwear.
As I was in the tree, I read the previous logs and the most previous mentioned bees... BEES!?
I heard a buzz. Lots of buzzing. I don't know if it was in my head or not.
I quickly replaced the cache as fast as I could, starting to feel bees crawling all over my feet.... I don't know if it was a hallucination, I wasn't on drugs.
Swear I got bitten by something. On my back.... Don't know what though.... I didn't die. It hurt though, instantly and afterwards too. I flew out of my 'standing' spot, nearly tripped over and swiftly nav'd back to the car, lucky it was dark and I was completely alone as I would have looked pretty funny, dancing away and shaking my clothes.
Took & left nothing, SL
GREAT camo. Very good work.
Signed, sealed and delivered with 10 minutes to spare =D
Thank you for bringing me here.... I think.
Geelong/home/bed bound.
Fav point added for the hide and adventure, not sure on location, might have to return during the day.
Cheers & T.F.T.C =]
Safe travels and hoppy caching!

TheRustyDuck and I had a big day out caching in the Ballarat area. On the way home we called past this one. TheRustyDuck had found this quite a while ago so it was left up to me to go looking for this one. A very cute cache, TFTC. Smile

Today was a caching day together with Ostara74 and Pathfinder24 and here we soon saw what other geocacher also has seen...the beehive. But, as we decided the cache was on the other side of the hive (and the bees didn't have a back door) I decided to give it a go. Climbed up and stood still while logging, and that worked out fine. No bees came near me, a couple looked up to see what I was up to but decided it was no need to worry...I was only yet another geocacher Cool

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Norway Big Grin

I found this cache together with Pathfinder24 and ellesaich on a very hot day. This was my last of five finds today.
After spending the first half of the day by the Pykes creek lake we were heading home but made some stops on our way for some caches.
The cache was retrieved, the log signed and then we were quick to get back in the air conditioned car.
Thanks for the cache caughtatwork!

Avoiding as many unsealed roads as possible JelenaGreenleaf and I made it to GZ as dusk was beginning to turn into night - a lovely view of the end of the sunset and the landscape! Cache is in good condition, the place is potentially spooky at night!! Tftc!

26-Dec-14
Found with georocks101. Your mind starts playing tricks on you in the dark, we got a bit scared thinking we saw someone sitting in a tree. Thank you for hiding this cache caughtatwork

22-Dec-14
I drive past this cemetery every day to work but didn't realise how old it was. We found the cache but the bees are still around and look to be in for the long haul as they've nested in a hole in the tree. Interesting spot. Tftc Smile

22-Dec-14
I found this cache today with Posho6 but the bees seemed pretty angry so we unfortunately didn't get to write our log into the book. TFTC Smile

13-Dec-14
We just love visiting old cemeteries, and if there is a cache in a reasonably close one, it's got our name on the guest list! No exception here, it was great to read the names and dates on the head stones. Interesting how the central area is not being mowed - are they protecting habitat?
At GZ, we did see the bees but they ignored us. We were more concerned about the heap of dead box thorn that was piled up in our general search area. It did not take long and the vulture spotted what we were after. Unfortunately, the great camo was missing one whole side, therefore the actual container was exposed. After signing the log, we scouted the area and suss did find the missing piece - just had to negotiate said box thorn. All is good now, the hide is complete again. We were seeking and have found cachers' heaven. Big Grin
The difficulty rating could almost be increased for this hide as none of our maps told us about all the new train lines that have sprouted out of nowhere to cater to the huge developments in the area. Wink

Watch out for the beehive... Not even kidding

Awesome spot!!! Was a very good find. Will be def looking for more!!!! Smile

19-Sep-14
Like the geocachers before me, I too could see this clever hide, but did not dare disturb the bees though someone brave enough may one day gain themselves some honey likely to have been made from the nectar and pollen of the surrounding canola flowers.

What a great hide...unfortunately didn't attempt 2 log as a large wasp nest was also at location...dissapointing.

06-Sep-14
Visited this cemetery today with the aim of logging the cache. Really appreciated reading all the old headstones. They are some of the oldest headstones I have seen here in Victoria.
Anyway we couldn't claim the find today because, while we could see the cache in its very clever spot, it was surrounded by a very active wasp nest so we couldn't even get near it. Will try another time we are down in Melbourne - hopefully the wasps will have moved on by then.
