So a huge "thank you!!!" is in order for Dysentry and BFR, who did a spectacular job organizing the event. Thanks for making sure we didn't pull out native bush... for putting a neat multi-cache in place, and for being so generous with spot prizes. Really Dysentry, that was very sweet of you.
It's just too bad there weren't more of us to make a bigger impact on those nasty vines [xx(]
I can't wait till next year.

Thanks again.

PS: I can't wait to place my new little waterproof micro cache capsule Big Grin

Great event, good to see some familiar faces and a new one too. The event cache was enjoyable, Willbuilds eye for the micros was certainly in. HLD, was that your cache that dissapeared into one of the rubbish sacks? And the best part was definately visiting the Masonic afterwards. Thanks Dysentry and BFR for a great day out.

We were scheduled to entertain three of out grand daughters today but managed to turn up just a little late but had to circuit the hill before finding the weeders. The terrain there was a bit too vertical for the girls so we moved up-slope a bit. We had been weeding away for some time when my wife reported that the group had disappeared!

We eventually caught up but by then the caching part of the activities were over. However, I did join the group for a photo and then took the girls for some promised sliding on the slopes.

Great day. Many thanks to all attendees, your effort in helping maintain the area is much appreciated. Fortunately the area was relatively clean of rubbish, so our focus was towards the weeds.

Remember to send me those emails! ETA will be within the next couple of weeks (as I will reorder them Tuesday).

Cheers

Sorry we won't be able to attend. We're off to the V8 supercars at Pukekohe. Sad Was looking forward to giving those nasty weeds the BASHING they deserve.

DoC has recommended us to murder all Moth Plants in the area.

It is recommended to wear gloves when doing so, as the sap can irritate cuts.

Unfortunately the prizes have not arrived Sad Prize vouchers will be presented instead, and prizes shipped to winners once shipment received.

There are two photos available on the cache page: The first is a map road access to North Head, the second details North Head and were we will meet up.

We plan to start weeding ~1.30pm, if you arrive late - no worries, jump in and start-a-cleaning!

A temp event cache will be setup for all participants to enjoy, it will involve a little bit of walking around North Head and should be pleasent.

If wet, the event is still on, but bring a rain coat.

See you there!

Coordinates have been updated slightly.

A map of the meeting place will be available tomorrow, but here are the directions anyway.

Parking *may* be available at North Head, but space is limited to you may need to park on the road.

Entrance to the part is via Takarunga Road.

The meeting place will be above the second carpark, near the summit. Approach the meeting place by walking up two flights of stone stairs accessible from the upper carpark (it is sign posted).

The first image is of the road to access North Head.
The second image is a map of North Head, detailing our meeting spot.

More details to follow Friday 15th.
