Since this one has been MIA for a while I will disable it until I can get up there to check on it.
16th
I guess I shall add my name to the ever growing list of DNF's
I looked for about 30 minutes also with no luck.
I suspect that the Cache Owner may be on posting somewhere as he is in the RAAF
May 2010

We approached this Cache from Governor's Drive and made a loop back to Glenbrook town following Lucasville Road. A lovely walk all in all but despite much looking in the area of GZ and in all the seemingly obvious places we found nothing. Maybe it has gone as indicated from previous posts. We will return and have another look around. In any event we would not likely have ever ventured down here except for looking for the cache so thanks for the cache anyway.
8th
I had also noticed the number of DNFs logged for this cache so I thought I would duck down here during the grandkid's netball match. With a couple of helpers we looked in all the likely (and unlikely) spots but found nothing. Either its really well hidden and camouflaged, its muggled or the coordinates are out a bit. No success for me either.
April 2010
23rd
Decided to do this after seeing the number of DNFs. I think it might have been muggled and will send a picture of what I think is the hiding spot to the owner. I kept walking away and coming back to the same place for GZ, although I made a thorough check all round the area. I'm pretty sure I was at the right height, and the place I think it was hidden fitted perfectly with the clue. Will have to see what the owner says, or await somebody with better eyes than mine.

We tried this once twice. The first day I think we were too high - but a very thorough search today found no cache. We may have to try again.

Our first DNF, We looked for about 20 mins but then a leech attacked and it started to rain so we called it a day. Reading the logs am wondering if we were up TOO high (we had clambered up to top via a ravine about 20m before GZ. Will try again sometime

My brother and I have found this one before but we were in the area trying to get a decent look at the tunnel (couldn't get close enough) and we had a TB with us from a previous cache that we wanted to drop off.
I thought I remembered where it was but the area seems to have changed in the couple of years since I last saw it - more trees (they were only recently planted when we were first there) and plant matter on the ground so I never recognised the place we found it last.
25th
Third failure for the day. Time to give up on the plan for six with none found!

I took the low road at first before reading the clue. A scramble upwards and it was time to search till the treasure was found. Took Roy Rogers geocoin. Left a fridge magnet. TFTC

A quick revisit to drop off a glass gem as I did not bring anything with me last time. Took the Geo-Son and he did the finding this time - with a couple of small hints from me. this was our third one for the morning and we got 3 for 3 - Yay!! Quality time with son and fun outdoors. What more can you ask for.
10th
Took off for a mountain bike ride for lunch and decided to throw this on top. Found it fairly easily although I agree that the hint is fairly ambiguous. Took the wrong path so ended up carrying the bike a fair way while bush bashing and rock hopping. Found out that you definately can't 4WD in the area as well (see photo).
Took Geocoin and left nothing (Sorry - forgot to bring something with me when I rushed out the door. Intend to bring the geokiddies back soon for them to find it and will drop off something then).
Thanks. Having a great time with this activity and getting to see some of the hidden areas in the place I have lived in for a couple of years.

Had fun exploring before getting serious, and then found it after a short search. left 1m tape keyring & occy strap. Took san francisco key ring

I'm probably not the first to come the wrong way from a nearby cache but that was soon fixed. Once there I checked out logical spots which still remaining safe and the cache was soon found. I'd have to agree that the clue only makes a little sense and then needs to be ignored. Thanks for the cache though.
18th
Clambered up to the spot easily enough, but searched and searched, in all the places I was game to go, to no avail. The clue made no sense - I stood on top and the view was nice but no cache. Thanks for an interesting spot though.
11th
After the day of caching I had I was glad to make this find, even if I struggled a little to lift the cache.
A nice easy find on a beautiful day. Took RAF badge left San Fran key ring. TFTC

My 200th cache! I was going to leave that honour for Pollies Perks, but that turned out to be a DNF, so this one was the back up plan....Easy find in a great area, TFTC, TNLNSL.

We were here in Dark's Common doing some orienteering and decided to also do this nearby cache. In fact control 424 was only 28 meters away from GZ. So about 50 people have been by this cache location today but we can report everything is safe and sound.
Thanks for bringing us here it was such a nice spot we spent a while enjoying the view after replacing the cache.

Walked along to within 30 metres then realised we couldn't get to GZ. We had just walked on from another nearby cache in frustration because we couldn't find it. What a way to start the day!!!! Found the right way and then spent a good half hour looking in all the wrong places before we discovered the resting place for this little beauty. took the phone and super balls, left two koalas. Great spot thanks for bringing us to an area we'd never have visited otherwise.

Found at 1200hrs with Meer_Kat.
Nice easy stroll to this one, with a little bit of 'scrub bashing' but there are little paths starting to develop through the grass anyway. Led us right there.
Meer_Kat found this within about 2 minutes of arriving at GZ, with her sharp, cute, little eyes.
Plenty of room in this cache, and some cool swaps too.
Only took the 'J. Hare TB', nothing else, and left an old Nokia mobile phone. Pretty sure it might be locked to a network still, but it might be your network, or you could just pay the small fee to unlock it. Either way, someone could probably use a mobile phone one day.
The charger for this phone is in 'Fun for Shorties' located very near by.
Thanks for an interesting new perspective on a cutting I thought I already knew quite well ADAcache.

Found at 1845, a really interesting walk and an interesting tunnel thrown in. I had a baby duck try and adopt me at one stage. He raced out of the bushes towards me quacking madly but retreated when he figured out that I wasn't his mum. Took Geocoin, left TB J Hare. TFTC

I have been working not far from here today so made the effort to nab this cache. It has been on the radar every time I pass this way but I never seem to have a chance to get it. This was a pleasant walk in though at the fork
I took the low road before the high road, I'm not sorry I did as I would have missed the tunnel entrance and many old relics still here.
At the GZ I watched some spotted pardalote scratch up the leaves on rocks while I filled in the log book.
Thanks for bringing me here top spot inspite of the traffic noise. Left a coin otherwise no swaps.

Found after a very long round about walk through the suburban streets. Walked straight past the entrance to the track near the water storage tank and had to circle around from the other side (about and extra 3.5km). But what a great place to visit some history and thankfully some cache finding faith restored. A very good way to see the country side and spend a pleasant few hours.

Gaff3 Found by Bushfire -Red Ant(Geelong) I was seeking Fun For Shorties and came in from this side of the The Old Way and discovered that a drop of 30m was in my way. Not realizing that the cache "The Old Way was on this side of the valley I found Fun For Shorties and proceeded up the valley to discover that I was again on the wrong side of the road so to speak but found a crossing and found GZ but took a long time to find cache as the hint states "Stand on top to find this one" It is not on top but close by an be very careful if you are on your own as it is a long way to the bottom of the "The Long Way" A long way down and you could be history if you should fall.Large cache and well stocked NI-N out Thanks ADAcache

Well technically I was here when another cacher found it first. We all turned up at the same time - so I said "game on" and away we went - Once found I swapped in a cube thing, a water pistol and a empty photo album. Signed log took nothing.
Nice work to Alex who actually found it - nice to chat to you guys too.
Also put in Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Bear Travel bug without writing the number down - will need to go back and do that DOH!
3 for 3 today.

Myself, Inbilla & his sister (yet to be named), Spike87.
At first we took a wrong turn which sent us walking across a precariously narrow rock wall and we saw an interesting tunnel of sorts down there but didn't want to climb (or especially fall) down to get a closer look.
Once we realised that the GPS was pointing across the drop we retraced our steps and went in the right direction when we could.
There was another person already there but we decided that in this case it was safe to assume that this was another geocacher. Turned out to be MandaJ searching also searching for the cache. Should say sorry since (as she mentioned) my brother, Spike87, pulled it out moments after we had rocked up to the location.
It was a nice area to visit and wasn't as far from the road as I'd thought it would be from the GoogleEarth map.
Left a toy car, took nothing.

Nice quiet spot after dodging all the pimples on BMXs. Path/foot pad all the way to GZ and for once guessed straight away the likely cache location. Had been to these old railway remains previously from the other side and its nice to see a cache in this area. Cache looked a little bare so dropped off mini karabiners & a candle. Took nothing.

G'Day,
Did this one on the way home from work. Great location, I knew the history of the location quite well but never took the time to have a look. Cache placed in a great spot and not too easy to find, I really enjoyed it. I forgot to bring anything with me so didn't do a swap, just recorded my find in the log book...

For a cache that was only 300 meters from parking this one probably required more effort than any other I can remember that was that close to parking.
Not having topographic maps and no idea of the terrain doesn't help either, ended up close but there was no way so had to back track and find another trail. Then finally getting there and attaining the cache was an exercise in itself. This isn't the easiest cache to access I've ever seen to say the least.
Took Alf travel bug left Canadian flag.

I was told about Geocaching by a friend a year ago but finally bought a gps last week. So i got a friend and his kids as well mine and picked the old way because it was less than 600m away. 5 kids under 8 taking turns navigating, we walked 1500m before we found it. The absolute joy and excitement on the kids faces when they spotted it was unbelievable.
Thanks for putting so close to home.

This was great! Sure we took a wrong turn at the beginning because the GPS was all over the place, but if we hadn't, we may have missed what we saw! I love exploring old engineering features and this type is one of the best.
Finding the road down minimised walking, energy we needed for later on.
Anyway, back to the task at hand. With some climbing, we found the stash and duly logged it.

My first cache hunt, and I'm sure I stuffed up the finding of it ! I managed to drive right around it, getting no closer than around 400m before I found a track down to a sewerage breather/pumping station. From there I was tracking in to the cache, but went left when I should have gone right and wound up almost right - looking UP at where the pioneers might have stood !!
Realised my mistake and headed back the right way. Great first try at doing this.
Took a leaking pen so it wouldn't ruin the other items. Left everything else alone.
12th
Found it about 12.35 on a long weekend Sunday. Its a bit hard for small children as they may slip on some of the loose bark etc. If you come fromt the wrong direction, you discover part of an old railway cutting and tunnel from the old Lapstone Zig Zag

Well, since ADAcache got us interested in Geocaching, we thought we'd have a go at this one to get on the board, but this time we had no luck
Standing at what our GPS said was GZ looking at the roadworks on the highway, then clambering over rocks looking everywhere with no joy. Will have another go at this one soon.

After walking down the path to within 20mtrs of GZ decided that we weren't mountain goats.
Backtracked and reapproached, co-ords spot on GZ.

This was our fourth cache for the day. Found a trail heading in the right direction, and followed it and the GPSr. It took a little searching, but in a few minutes the cache was at hand. This is a pleasant area, but the road noise spoils the effect a little.
Took a thermometer and left a precision screwdriver set.

Great traditional cache!
Nice area (shame about the fires and traffic noise) and some nice history.
EcoNic knows this place well, she was environmental rep for the sewage system going through there. They were going to put the sewage pipe through the tunnel but the local historic and heritage groups stopped it, so it went on top.
A fairly easy find after briefly finding ourselves on the lower side track, only 30 meters from the cache, but a 20m wide by 20m deep abyss meant we had to go back up the top. You get that. We took the Lucasville Rd entry which has a Sydney Water access track that takes you part of the way down. The bottom side track is interesting and worth a look, be careful as it's a bit narrow and near cliff edges.
Took nothing, left one of Ecodave books.
Thanks ADA!

With little battery power and little light I stumbled across this one thankfully to make it 2 of 4 caches for the afternoon.

Now this is my kinda cache! A nice walk through some bush, and a easy find with a big container at the end. Top stuff!
Found at 2pm after coming in from the west. Would have loved to have had more time to explore around here. The cache appeared a little bit light on, so nothing was taken, however I did leave Globy the globetrotting bear TB to continue his travels. Go free little fella! Love ya work, ADAcache. It's about time I got out again.
Raindrops were all around as I headed West along the motorway. When I arrived at the obvious parking I found it was full as the ovals were packed with Saturday morning teams and spectators, while the rain didn't make a walk very inviting.
My eMap showed a road leading off the one I was on that appeared to head in the direction of the cache, I drove to where the gps said it was and followed a track to within 67 Metres of the cache. The track continues in a large circle. The rain stopped as I parked so across to gz I went.
Fortunately the sun kept me company as I looked in, behind and under until the cache materialised.
After doing the cache thing I had a look aound the side I had not previously visited. There are signs that Sydney Water is still in the area and some tracks are blocked off with plastic tape, however it is still possible to view the construction and a walk West from the cache is worth doing. That will bring you to the area shown in the photo in the cache.
A good cache ADAcache - and good to see someone else reads the same books as me.

Was going to leave a TB in this spot, but I left them all at home...... another bit of history that I hadn't been to before, Thanks ADA for getting us there

We could not find any footsteps to follow; the rain might have washed them away. So we just took the track, which worked out ok. Left a Water Dragon Took nothing

Yes SWAGagg this was my first cache. Beat you to it. It's in a nice spot with an interesting view. The noise of traffic impedes on the serenity a little but oh well. It's a little hidden but if you clamber over rocks for a while you'll find it. Took pack of playing cards, left pencil sharpener.

This is only 5 minutes from where I work so I did it during my lunchtime. I notice that Climber Boy was there a couple of hours before me and see that he used this cache to embark on his caching career. Good on you. We'll expect to see many more - especially since you're on holidays. Left Balloons. Took Pencil Sharpener. Interesting spot.

We had just finished dinner and I was logging Pollies Perks, I had just loaded up GSAK and was looking at all the closest caches when I spied something I had never seen there before! This one, only placed yesterday and, it had a travel bug!
Thats like waving a red flag at a bull. So, I tried to talk Webguy Jnr into coming, but he was not interested. I repacked the caching backpack, printed off the street level map, punched the co-ords into the GPS and off I set.
What an awesome warm moon-lit night to go hunting virgins.
Did not take too long to find the track I needed in the dark and arrived at GZ about 10 minutes after leaving the car. Another 5 minutes and it was mine.
It was a pretty magic spot to be sitting there in the dark, logging the details into the palm by moonlight, a soft breeze, night bird calls. Well, ok, the noise from the highway spoiled it a bit.
I swapped out a occy strap for some fuzzy dice and a sticker, plus, grabbed the corky kangaroo travel bug, who, we will release back into the wild, once we figure out the best spot for her.
Our first virgin (Since we missed out on Lost in the City) and in a nice spot, well, i think it is, it was dark.
Thanks Adacache
