Great reason to go and check out the view, but no cache.
Worth the walk up the hill for the views though.

Couldn't find cache but found a few likely places it could have been at given coordinates.

A nice side trip to a new area but no cache to be found for me. 4 long dead rabbit skeletons under the object I reckoned it should have been under, but apart from those nada! Cheers.

We went and looked and looked but were unable to find any cache. Beautiful spot though :)

I realise after looking at a couple of photos in the gallery that I was looking a little way away. I think my GPS was a little off for this one. There was a group of a dozen or so volunteers cleaning up rubbish and replanting, so it made a thorough look very difficult. Decided to abandon the search and carried on to Mt Cook. Thanks for leading us up a road we would not usually have taken, we found one of natures little secrets.

Didn't even realize there was anything in here let alone a collections of bachs.

Out caching now the rain has stopped. Tidied the paper around the site and it should look better for the next cachers. The local ducks followed us right up to the top of the hill as we carried on for the full view and we were so impressed that we fed them once we were all back down again. It was a long waddle for them...pickings must be lean in the cold temps. Went back to our hotel via Mt John and great coffee with views - highly recommended. Lovely spot and we'll be back in the summer if there is room at the campsite. TFTC.

Gps showed about 30m to go looked where I thought it could be and decided it was too hot a day for that sort of effort so went for a swim in the lake instead, very nice.
Maybe next time we're here.

Indeed, never knew this lake existed. A popular place for New Year holidays I see.

An easy find in a nice spot (I'd been past this way several times butnever goen to the lake). Was in a University of Canterbury Alumni group visiting Mt John Observatory, so got a good look at the lake in the day, and again at night (at night its total blackness makes it quite visible).

Cache has new been maintained - Thanks Butterfly_Lady

Found the cache - mostly intact. The box had become brittle at some stage, and some bits broken away.
Replaced it with a new 1 litre sistema (same size, different shape) added a new log book, as the current one is a little full but still useable, added another pencil.
A lovely spot, a good hiding place.
Cache is all good now, though could do with a little swag.

Found what remained of the cache easily. But that was only the lid, the log book and a few pens and pencils. I placed these in a zip top plastic bag and added a motor cycle. I could not locate any other parts of the cache. Maintenance is needed but it still functions. Great spot. Pity we did not make the time for a spot of fly fishing.

I'll second the last logger. Can't imagine a muggle finding this cache, but it does appear there is an animal living in this spot?? Found part of a log, cache lid, and pens strewn about. Gathered them up as best as I could and placed under a sizable rock to keep it in place.

Great spot; had seen the lake on a tramp in the area last month. However, looks like cache has been muggled - found lid of box, what looked like half a log book and a couple of felt-tip pens under the rock but nothing else. Real shame. Look forward to revisiting when re-established! Cheers, Mothy.

Beautiful little lake with quite a few people camping nearby. Looks like a couple of muggle kids have found the cache lately given the comments in the log but the contents do not seem to have been disturbed. TNLN. Thanks

We were here for dawn today, a very picturesque spot for it. I don't think there had been a cloud in the sky for 24 hours before so it was also extremely cold! Found easily enough, but the cache lid seemed to be just resting on top of the box. Everything was however dry, so we made our trade, signed the log and sealed it back up again.
The log book is full! If you are planning a visit, might be great to take a new one with you

Drove in to the lake late afternoon on a bleak day - nobody else in sight, houses all boarded up it seems. Wintry views drew the eye (but not the body) to snowbound slopes inland. The hiding-place was obvious as I approached - and I can report that at least in winter the smell has gone. The cache box had been wrapped in a plastic bag that has since torn wide open, but otherwise all is fine. No swaps, cheers, Grandalf.

Hadn't been out this way since 2001 when I went up to the observatory on a uni field trip. I'd never driven this far down the road, and so it was nice to see this new lake. It was very pretty today with the autumn trees about. Found the cache easily, it appears that some other animal caches there too. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [505]

Beautiful spot, but had to fill in the logbook quickly, as my botty was burning, sitting on the hot rocks!
It looks like this is a dumping spot for dead rabbits, but at least being so dry, they have all mummified nicely.
TNLN - thanks for the pleasant excursion on the way home from a week of hanggliding.

This has always been one of our favourite spots so we were glad to find a cache here and give us a reason to come in again. The sun came out quite hot as we were walking around and the water was sparkling.
The water in Lake Tekapo was a brilliant turquoise as we were driving in - this was really spectacular.

- London Bus Keyring (Rodney will probably keep this in his collection - thanks Swanny)
Thanks Moneydork for another great cache

Oops. It appears that I'd forgotten to log this cache (it's 18-2-4 now). Left the London bus keyring from a cache in Regents Park (can't remeber the name just now).
Nice spot to stop on the way back from Lake Benmore. I'm sure people were looking at the boat thinking "You can't bring that thing here" (Lake Alexandrina is strictly people power only)
