Very nice area! Comments re: plants and grass floating are still true - if you are up to your ankles in "quick mud" you're not exactly in the right spot. Took the no-spider route purely by accident (walked from Milson Point Station). Thanks for taking me to another lovely spot in Sydney!

Our walking group had it's 10th anniversary today and decided to do the same walk again. Lingered behind and grabbed this quick one while the rest were having morning tea in the park.
Had a bit of a read up on this old story prior to the day out and when I could not find a mulberry tree knew it had to be the other clue. I was right......great spot and thanks.

Found at 15:10 after a very long search behind many wrong benches.
Was a little apprehensive about the gate, but in the end I found an alternate way around; thank goodness, because I really didn't want to go straight through the massive spider webs.
After all the recent rain, the ground nearby was not so much soil with grass growing out of it as it is an area of mud with some plants floating on top. Left a chunky little turtle.

Dearie me, about time we had a spring clean, Miss Carey. The Squires have pulled on the Wellington Boots and attacked the rising damp with a brand new container and fresh clean logbook. Miss J found this one, almost right away. Plenty of Muggle activity, and this cache is not where you first think!

Found at 10:35am. Very nice and quiet little park on a Saturday morning.
10th
Walked in from Milson's Point station. Can recommend the spit roast shop - opposite the station exit - 1980s size slabs of meat in a roll which I ate in Milson Park. Then let my GPSr do the work: "The Arrow knows the way. Follow the Arrow. The Arrow is your friend." And the Arrow led right there at 13:20. Dank little cache, but I cannot understand why the log book is still damp inside its plastic pocket. Took nothing but left a purple mini torch so that those who find this cache after the sun goes down can find their way back! Such a pleasant place on a 27C day I was tempted to hang around - but duty called.

9:35 pm.
I continued my extended 3-hour run from South Sydney via Hyde Park and Harbor Bridge. I had not previously explored this side of the harbor and this hide provided a good excuse to continue across the bridge. Even in the dark I was able to spot after poking around a couple of minutes a bit too far up the hill where my GPSr insisted I should look. Fortunately it was completely deserted in the park and no one peeked out of the nearby windows to see what I was up to. TNSL. Left a green horned lizard. I photographed the Tbug and recorded its ID number with intent to log a touch-and-go but see it has already been moved so will not post a find and risk messing up its travel accounting. Thanks for the hide.

We came here especially to put in TB Perry the Peripatetic Pirate who we brought all the way from the UK and who wants to see Sydney Harbour. He has now achieved his mission!!! It's a lovely spot and he can see the boats from here.
We took 3 TB's to make room for him.

P only as I'm in Sydney on buisness.
The first of two caches today after work. Such a tranquil and beautiful location after the noise of Pacific Highway. I just had to sit for an hour and relax in the evening sunshine.
I've been struggling to find anything other than micro caches in the local area so dropped off 3 TBs a long way from home.
Thanks for a great cache location

Called in for a bit of a spring clean. Got rid of some damp rusty stuff and re-bagged the contents. The cache tends to attract moisture, so one day we'll find a more waterproof model. Forgot the lawn mower, though, and so has North Sydney Council by the looks of things so a wade through the long grass may be required.

As a member of the club across the park, I thought I'd pay this cache a visit. Found it no problem, but it had some water in it. Drained the water and replaced the baggie the log was in as it had split (log ok though). Probably needs some time in the sun to dry properly.

Had some time to spare today so went off looking for this cache. After sitting down for a few minutes to let the GPSr get a grip I found it quickly.
Groovy cammo.

Great little spot. Thanks. TNLNSL. Cheers.

I would have preferred tackling this one in daylight, but as it gets dark at 1730 up here, and I can't get away from work until about that time, I had to be satisfied with a night time assault. GPS coverage was pretty awful, but I had an idea where to look from something mentioned in one of the logs. I spent about 30 minutes looking there, to no avail. I was just about to give up, but I thought I'd have a look from a different angle. It was then that I spied another likely location (it was "Tiny Shiny" all over again). I had it in hand 30 seconds later at 1905. I probably would have saved 20 minutes if it hadn't been for the darkness. Oh well, these are the joys of caching at night. I've seen that cammo many, many times in Victoria; it's a maccamob speciality.
The inside of the cache was a bit damp from condensation, and a couple of calling cards were wet and mildewy, so I removed them. (My apologies to GEK and Charlie Brown.) I also ditched the 2004 Giro Post calendar, which was wet too. The log book is a beauty, and although its zip-lock bag is split, it's relatively dry. I grabbed the "Supreme Commander" TB, and copied the vital information. I really liked the location of this cache, and I've never seen such tall palm trees! Thanks to The Reigate Squires for the cache and the history lesson. However, the URL for the story about Miss Carey has changed. The new URL is as follows:

I had made an unsuccessful attempt on this a while back which I had forgotten to log. I now find out we had missed it by a mere whisker on that cold dark night.
Yet another cache for the supreme EvilDan and ChickDeputy team. Yeah! And a perfect excuse to enjoy a burger at the Kirribilli Hotel before hand.
Somewhat disappointing though - the noisy Muggles were very quiet today. Maybe they only reach their crescendo at night?

A new day has dawned and we had given up on trying to do anymore in the city, just no parking!
We arrived and started a search, as Swampy said, the neighbours were being really noisey, luckily they were not looking below.
After I changed our search location, it was found easily. had nothing small enough to fit into this container so just signed the log.
A nice find in an unusual park.

Missed it we wandered around the same 10m radius for about 20 min, looking in all the obvious places in failing light - needed a torch to search some hidey-holes which we therefore couldnt do. Disappointed, but the clues mean we were looking in the right place - determined to have another go in the middle of the day soon!

My log shows we found this one 17 minutes past the witching hour. The neigbours noisy party masked any noise we were making. It seems to have one been a nice location however it now waits for a lawnmower and some gardening.

Nice Cache. Easy walk down from Milsons Point Train Station. The area is a bit mushy after the rain over the last few days (3 inches apparently), but accessible none the less. This one drove us up the wall(s) requiring many restarts. Eventually we found it. Agree, well hidden. Serves us right for not looking closely or carefully enough. Always look twice. With a very tight clock running as I needed to catch a train home to Newcastle in little more than an hour, I managed to find the cache (after half an hour of stealthy searching), drop off the travelbug Roverandom after taking him to Luna Park (that's kinda like the moon...), signed the logbook. A muggle was sitting on the one bench so I sat on the other and waited for a chance to scratch around 'as one does' and possibly look a bit silly. GPS settled down and said quietly to me.."look over your right shoulder its 0 meters away". So around I looked and there it was. How easy was that!!! Left a 1944 penny in the front cover of the log book. A penny for my thoughts I thought..."she must have been a great lady". Great cache..thanks.

KitPie and I went out and about for a wander in the pleasant evening air. After picking up food supplies in North Sydney, where all signs of life had been replaced by hair spray impaired zombies, we continued on into the night. We needed to preserve the little remaining GPS battery power and took bearings sparingly, but arrived in the vicinity soon after sunset.
After observing the entrance to a well known (in some circles) and highly rated (in some circles) piece of infrastructure, we arrived at GZ and discovered that the urban nature of this cache was not suited for a night time assault. Unperturbed, KitPie amused herself with the pursuit of noisy insects while I tried to attract the attention of alert but not alarmed citizens with my torch.
Having failed in my mission at testing the country's homeland security preparations, I scratched around a bit more in the dark managed to collect the cache ... and a forearm load of little bugs.
WP2 of this cache ... the pen buried in the bottom of KitPie's bag ... turned out to equal the challenge of finding the cache itself. Nonetheless, the deed was done.
As we were leaving, we noticed a couple of ASIO officials disguised as owls up in the tree watching us. I guess I shouldn't have underestimated them after all.

After the cache, which was well done and had a very nice logbook it was back to the office party. Missed my first virgin cache by 1 day - if only I'd gone yesterday when I'd intended...
Lovely spot - it's one of the things I love most about 'caching - discovering unique little places like this one.
I guess it's possible that your sat lock may be a little flaky when you are right at GZ, but once you get to the area, the clues should be more than enough for finding this little gem.

Re-checked co-ords this morning & found them correct within 1m. You do not need to go through any gates or over fences. Yes there are houses nearby - it's an urban cache after all!

Dropped by as it was near home and had a 15 minute look for this new cache. I couldn't find it! My GPS had it pointing about 2 meters away from someones house! I was also unsure if the land was actually private property, (The sign on the gate said so!) so didnt try to hard! Might want to confirm the location is right, but then again maybe I was been to cautious! Thanks MRG
