I helped Huntnlady from Napa a few weeks ago with this one after pprass forwarded her email onto me. as it happens I was going to Launceston, Tasmania the next day, so risked life & limb by stopping on the highway to get a pic of the welcome sign.. huntnlady then emailed me her photo's of Napa city hall & I forgot to log it till now (slack aren't I) Razz

I thought I was in luck when i dropped my friend off at the airport, there was a sign about Launcestons Sister City, but it was for their other sister city in Japan (can't remember the name of it now)..

anyway TFTC, & thanks for the opportunity to log this one Huntnlady

I was very happy to help out a fellow Geocacher from across the Pond with this Cache.
BooBear and his ever Faithful "Faith" the Wondermutt are the two other culprits or coconspirators in this little project.
Naas is a couple of miles away for where I work (Maynooth), so I had no problem getting there, the only problem I thought I'd come across was maybe the lack of a suitable sign, you see the Irish are renowned for their lack of Direction and Location Signage, "Sure won't you know when you're there anyway?" Well I found a sign, took the photos and BooBear did the rest. I actually enjoyed the challenge this cache, Thank you.

Sign location, Eppley Airfield (Omaha's Airport).
The sign is at N 41 17.249 W 095 54.303.
The Cities of Naas and Omaha became sisters in 2002.
Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska. It was founded in the summer of 1854 by land speculators from Council Bluffs, Iowa, months after the Kansas-Nebraska Act created the Nebraska Territory. Later that year, Omaha was chosen as the territorial capital for Nebraska. Omaha was chosen as the eastern terminus of America's first transcontinental railroad in 1862 with the passage of the Pacific Railroad Act. This ensured that Omaha would become a major transportation center for the entire country in the years to come. The loss of the capital to Lincoln in 1867 did not slow Omaha's growth in the decades to come. Omaha is home to the Henry Doorly Zoo, which is widely considered one of the premier zoos in the world. Omaha is also best known for the NCAA Division 1 College World Series, held every year at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium. The CWS has been held in Omaha every year since the first College World Series.

This marker is located on Bridgeport Way and marks a NW entrance to Lakewood. With the help of ohjoy I have completed this task. She has my phots and will [ost them for me. The sister city of Okinawa City on Okinawa Japan is Lakewood Washington. This has been a fun cache, somewhat difficult but I didn't have to "learn a different language" I am trying to pick up some Japanese. TFTC

Many thanks to The Bridge Bandits for helping me complete this cache! The response was so quick and helpful, it makes me proud of my Irish heritage!

The pictures are from Omaha's sister city of Naas, Ireland. Naas town ('Nás na Ríogh') as it was called in Gaelic is the "Meeting Place of Kings" because of its ancient location as a cross-roads to and from Dublin, and its traditional location as the principal governmental administrative centre in the county (Co. Kildare).

Wilmette, Sister city to Mona Vale, NSW Australia

The village is named in honor of Antoine Ouilmette, a French-Canadian fur trader, who lived here with his part-Potawatomi wife, Archange. He persuaded the local Native Americans to sign a treaty and the U.S.
government awarded him land in what is now Wilmette. Wilmette is also home to the oldest of the seven existing Bahá'í Houses of Worship around the world.

Thanks to Atomic Blonde for the pic.

An attempt to Log Nara Japan and Canberra Australia.

I had a great time visiting Nara in Japan. Unfortunately I was unable to locate a city sign but when I talked to the staff at the Nara City office they took me up to the Canberra Room. This room is filled with memorabilia from exchanges between the two cities. The waypoint is from the front of the Nara City office. I was totally unprepared for the hospitality I was shown at the Nara office and after I had finished the green tea I was given a book and a keychain to remind me of my visit. I had only some pins from the Australian Pavilion at World Expo so I gave these to the helpful staff. They extended an invitation to any Canberrites to come and visit the room if they were ever in Nara. Thanks for the adventure, geocaching definately lets me meet many different people in some truely great places. Terrortorian

Have added the images as supplied from Hill 4. Thanks for the assistance in this cache Mate.

I knew Leavenworth, Kansas is a sister city for Wagga Wagga, Australia, so I asked if anyone there would help with this one. I found a friendly Angela in Olathe, Kansas who was prepared to drive 1/2 hour to Leavenworth for the photo. Here it is confirming the sister city relationship. The 2 cities have been sisters since 1962.

Like Wagga Wagga, Leavenworth is full of history with their military base and they also have a federal prison. Leavenworth is located next to the Missouri River and on the grounds of the military base are big swales where the pioneers crossed the river by ferry then drove their wagons up the hills to continue on the Oregon Trail. Another bit of trivia is rock singer Melissa Etheridge was
raised in Leavenworth.

I went to High School in Leavenworth Drive & my first boss lived in that street too, so it is great to recall the 'old' days all thanks to geocaching.

Well done Angela & thanks for the as'sister'ance.

Roostaman.

I grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. The sister city is Miura, in Japan. When I realised that there was a locationless cache for sister cities, I set about finding a Japanese cacher in the general area of Miura. I found naokei, and she agreed to help me to log the cache. I made the 260km trip to Warrnambool with my sister (seemed appropriate somehow) and she took my photo beside the sign.

Here is some information about Miura from naokei:

Miura is a fishery harbour. The main catch is tuna, and the city is famous for it. The tuna is processed in Miura, and many restaurants sell it. A favourite dish made with this processed tuna is Toroman. "Toro" means the belly of the tuna, and "Man" means steamed bread. Usually, this dish is made with meat rather than tuna, but the dish has been localised to fit the local industry.

Thanks for the cache, and thanks to naokei for helping me log it.

The temperature was -3F or -18C in Clawson, Michigan this week, I am told by LightPeople (who will log soon) it was a bit hotter here 32C or 89.6F. Today was the last day of my summer holiday (back in front of a class tomorrow). This was a fun cache and has given me an idea!
