Find # 14186I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC sushilord

25/10/2023 10:51:00 AMWhen I first started caching way back, I;d look at Z's puzzles and awe at how he managed to come up with some of this stuff, and now I still do the same. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK

Caching with the JAMS crew finding Wandering Heroes caches. We ended up finding over 300 and hiding 2 more. We replaced a lot of containers that were broken. We had a few showers of rain early which were getting us wet but they didn't last too long and it ended up being a nice day. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches.

Today fitzy_1965, two geo-kids & I moved camp from Murray Bridge to what turned out to be Renmark instead of Loxton.

Our main aim was getting to our destination with a targeted little Month trail and an old cache along the way.

All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

23,060. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.

This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 12 of our adventures took us from Murray Bridge to Renmark - caching along the way cherry picking on the Wandering Heroes series and completing the OTD May series. All caches were found quickly and in good order unless otherwise stated. Next find of the day. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then headed off to the next one.

Thanks The Master's Apprentice !!

20-Oct-20
This evening, I decided to make the drive to Tailem Bend to attend the CITO event, hosted by a few visiting Canberra Geocachers. The park was very clean by the end, and to justify my long drive, I then did a large loop of the *Wandering Heroes* geocaches. My morale was high, and I ended up finding a significant number, with some great creativity that had gone into some of those hides. A late night drive back home.

I made the drive to do a full *Wandering Heroes* loop that were the closest to Tailem Bend; That is, along Kulde Road as far as Zytheran's cache, and then returning back along Westbrook Road. I had completed a few miscellaneous heroes geocaches along here, in particular the new-ish ones when I had been in the area with others, and so tonight it was a matter of getting in the right frame of mind, and getting to work. Zytheran is almost at legend status within the South Australian geocache scene; his puzzles can be very difficult (but almost follow some sort of logic), and their final locations are generally Favourite Point worthy! It is only a shame that I haven't met Zytheran / he has somewhat retired from the active geocaching scene. This geocache was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks The Master's Apprentice aka. sushilord for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

On a road trip to South Australia with Joolay and barb2e - today is Day 4 (Berri to Taillem Bend). We signed all caches as Border Busters or BB.

Condition Report:. Ok
Log Book: lots of room

Thanks for hiding this cache sushilord

Solved this before coming over and so happy to pick this up today. We looked and looked and was getting nowhere. But the hint and a glimpse had the cache found. Awesome to pick this up.
Had a wonderful stay in Berri but now heading South.

On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves Border Busters or BB. Forth day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.

The Wandering Heroes trail keeps on wandering and so do we, along with ilook4geo. Most of the caches we did today were in acceptable condition, although there were still a couple where containers need to be replaced and a few logs that also need to be renewed. As is normal, each log had our visit noted by the addition of two lots of initials, being GP2 and ilg.
Our thanks go to The Master's Apprentice for adding to this trail and to the fun of the game.

Tackling another section of the Wandering Heroes series today with goingplaces2. Had a lot of fun and found all caches that were on the list. Logs signed, all replaced as found. TFTC.

11-Jan-19
I had planned a big few days of caching in SA so I left work on a Tuesday evening and hit the road from Melbourne. This was my third full day of caching and the Wandering Heroes caches (and assorted others nearby) were on my target list. It was a blisteringly hot day (felt hotter than the 39C recorded on my car!) and the dry and dusty conditions made it hard going at times. My first task having left where I was staying overnight in Murray Bridge was to head to the Geopets series. Once I was done there I headed on to the Wandering Heroes and others along that route. Many took me longer than expected with different containers, hide styles and some further off the road. In the end I had to adjust my expectation of finds for the day before I headed north to where I was staying overnight. I had solved the puzzle before leaving home so was able to grab this one as I passed. Thanks to The Master's Apprentice for this cache and to all COs for placing and maintaining this remarkable series. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

30-Dec-18
Having started the oz mega signal yester, I headed back down south with the intention of finishing it and making a start on the wandering heroes’ caches. It was perfect weather for a long day of caching, after a few caches the mojo was back and good progress was made. Stopping in Wellington for lunch (and more caches) it was off to Tailem Bend and a steady slog was made into the wandering heroes. Eventually, as the sun was setting it was time to call it a day and head home after an enjoyable day.

found with jacknor. Not a fan of the z puzzles but i am a fan of the z terrain. Very nice touch using the man made object at gz. quick find.

sir_spectre wanted to come down and find his wandering hero's cache. He invited me along for the trip. We stopped at the puzzles and did 1 multi before the dust storm got worse and made driving down to 60 km's for a while before making it to his cache. Then the thunderstorm hit and it bucketed down with rain till we drove back to the lost hero's trail and we completed that with almost no rainfall. quick find.

Tuesday 8 November 2018.

You are quite the legend! Congrats on being honoured on this trail.

Yet another fabulous day out with gridge98...so fabulous that we stamped all of the logs as "Fabulous Randoms" (the ink in a few was becoming a little light).

We stopped at about 150 caches today as we were on a mission for Connor to reach his 4,000th caching milestone, and for me to get closer to my 10,000th. I'd found a few before today so my find count was a little lower, but anything over the 100 mark is a great day caching! We even began our day by attending a coffee event at 7:30am and then finished it with dinner and movies...haha, yep, the GIFF event was on tonight at the German Club.

Thanks so much for the cache sushilord! [^]

08-Nov-18
A day out with GoodLook on a mission to do as much of the wandering heroes series.
We found 150 along the way till we had to pull the pin and head home. Happy to find my 4000th at the last one. TFTC for all the CO for placing the caches. Some of the caches are in poor condition others are fantastic hides. We stamped all the caches with the fabulous randoms stamp

28-Sep-18
Although I only Zytheran from reputation I have seen some of his T rated caches. I'm on the way but not quite there yet. Perhaps another couple of months.
This was a fun puzzle and quick find. Thanks sushilord.

Another one where the last finder doesn’t seem to have signed the log book I guess that’s an easy way to get 300 finds on a weekend.... a happy solve at work this week and added to the list for this return trip to the WH series TFTC glad to get this one off the map!!!

Emily boys cleaning up some unfound or dnfs on the way home today, had this one on the to get list for far too long now tftc

25-Mar-18
After picking up my sister in Murray Bridge for some company we headed out towards Karoonda with geopet, Mandy for the afternoon...it was very windy but the rain held off until the last cache of the day...

I neglected to load the end coordinates into my GPS but they were on my cache page so I had to use my phone to find this one...I went around in circles a bit but not for too long before I saw a likely spot...
I have done a few of Zytheran's high terrain caches...always a challenge...a worthy hero...

My original al plan for my 6000th was to find my 100th -Z- cache. But after a week and a half in Mexico and still being 3 caches off that make, I had to come up with another plan.

Driving home my numbers were quickly rising. How else can I honour my preferred purveyor of perplexing puzzles? I know - there’s a cache just over there with a couple around it I can use to get those last few digits.

With a bunch of other WH caches slowly picked off, I approached GZ for this one - at least it’s not -Z- terrain Smile

How appropriate there’s a man made object here. And a black Systema under it. What a perfect tribute to the -Z-

Thanks for the cache sushilord.

Found on 13 Mar 2018 at 6:17 pm.

Find #6000!!!!!

27-Oct-17
Today being a big day we continued on with the Wandering Heroes series. Some we found challenging and others easily, we replaced some cache containers and replaced new zip locked bags to keep the log protected as containers were damaged.

Thanks for placing these cache for our enjoyment.

An afternoon out with Purrfect Di and Jack to shorten the Wandering To-Do list
found us here at your cache. A little research had been done some time before.
What... No cliff,.. no falling rocks.... no safety equipment needed ! ! !
Still a neat hide though, and did remind me of a few Z caches.
Much appreciation to all who have placed and maintain caches on the trail.

jinta29 and I are in town this week after many months of planning for a week to remember. We are heading to the Yorke Peninsula, Murray Bridge and as many places in between as we can get to. This was one we found along the way.

TFTC sushilord.

sushilord, I found your cache Wandering Heroes ... Zytheran on 28/4/17.
This is my find #4497 and find #60 today.

28-Apr-17
Day 5 of our SA jaunt had us targeting the Wandering Heroes series and anything else that took our fancy [^]. We camped last night at Tailem Bend and we are unsure how far todays travels will take us Smile

I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here Big Grin. I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area Smile. We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome Big Grin

A massive thanks here to sushilord for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!

jinta29 found your cache Wandering Heroes ... Zytheran today. This is my find #7649 and find #60 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again sushilord for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

Today we headed out for further caching fun and as always a huge day of fun followed.

Spending a few days in Mannum and today I was heading out to do some Wandering Heroes on my way to my 4000th cache. [^]
Great reading about these Wandering Heroes. Smile

I have not met Zytheran but have experienced some of his puzzles. Surprised Most are way to hard for me and I need help to solve some of them. Big Grin The other side of Zytheran's caches is the Terrain rating, some of these are also way beyond me, but I do try and give some of them a go, so much so that I had a nasty fall a couple of weeks ago finding one of his caches in Morialta. Surprised

Thanks for the cache sushilord. Smile

11-Sep-16
A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Thanks Sushilord.

Finally got to get the smiley here for this one, having been unable to crack the cipher before we did the Wandering Heroes series past here.
Walked up to GZ and thought I had it wrong, but a quick scout around soon gave us this hide.

Thanks sushilord for this tricky cache and placement.

Found with wozzle68 as we headed West for a few days caching with some other Mexicans. Very cleverly placed, and still in great condition. Congratulations to Zytheran on your inclusion in the WH trail, his puzzles are usually beyond me WinkWink Thanks to The Masters Apprentice for the puzzle and the cache.

Here in the area for the Oz Mega from Wodonga, spending the day with Bushfire. Our goal today was to grab 150 caches along the Wandering Heros Trail. It is wonderful to see these people who have been recognised along the way. We had a great day in the area making the finds. There was some great hides and our thanks to all the hiders for the effort in hiding and maintaining the various caches. Thanks.sushilord.

We teamed up again with Suscoe for a Post Mega tilt at the Wandering Heroes to extend our line of smilies towards "the end" - a never ending story we suspect! We actually met a number of these Heroes at the Mega and were hoping to find caches typifying them or their hiding style. As it was we had fun learning about their backgrounds and adventures thru' the detailed cache notes.

Thanks to sushilord for the cache.

What a week this has been at the Oz Mega Event in Murray Bridge SA. I have so many caches to log so it will have to be a cut and paste log because of the numbers but this does not mean that that I don't appreciate the effort that all the cache owners have put in to hide these caches because without the hiders we would not have the pleasure of finding the vast number of caches that have been placed in this area and also the owners of caches along the roads that we have to travel to arrive in M.B and return back to our homes.
I left Geelong on Wednesday 16th April 2014 and arrived home a week later with close to 500 caches found and now the mammoth task of logging all of these caches.
Thanks to all the cache owners who placed caches for everybody to find.
Early Monday 21st April I ventured out to this group with fellow cacher Happy Feet 1 (Robin and Josh) signing the logs as B & HF1 and finding all along the way until we decided to return to Murray Bridge with our aim today was to log at least 150. Robin worked out her first puzzle while we hunted, well done.
This is not the order we found these but for ease of logging I will log in order.

21-Apr-14
Suscoe headed out this afternoon after relocating to Karoonda for a bit of caching fun in the company of Phetlern.
Logs were signed in a combination of ways with Suscoe, Phetlern where we had overlapped on previous visits and S and P where we were both logging for the first time.
Another delightful day even if it was a little windy.
This cache was one of 61 finds for the afternoon.
Thanks to sushilord for placing this cache.

21-Apr-14
Found this cache while attending Oz Mega. Had a great time and appreciated all the effort of the organisers and the owners of placed caches. Thank sushilord

21-Apr-14
Thanks for your cache sushilord, we found on our way to the OzMega Event in Murray Bridge to be held over Easter. Yoru cache helped to break up the long drive from Perth and give us an excuse to stop and stretch our legs.

21-Apr-14
Last day for us at Murray Bridge so we set out to get about 75 caches to bring our total up to 2000. The Wandering hHeroes were next on the list and this helped with the numbers. Most caches were easy finds a couple had us scratching our heads for a while..
Thanks to sushilord for this cache

#5594 We had completed a portion of this ever expanding series back in Apr13 when we cut loose on the Mega, Signal, Arrow, Tour De France and Fruit Loop series'. Whilst at the Mega this Saturday, our caching companions were out on the Signal series we thought it an ideal time to head out and find some more caches along this diverse trail. The road was relatively quiet and the weather spectacular for our days caching. We are impressed with the selfless cachers who go to the time/effort/expense of recognising others along this trail. Also our thanks to CPwanderer who commenced this dedication trail.

Zytheran = puzzles.....and conundrums.....and head scratchers......we could go on but I think we've made our point Razz. We weren't very prepared for our run out here today and looking forward along the trail whilst on the run we realised we had a couple of puzzles......and no service Razz!! In betwixt frenetic caching and checking for service, this puzzle was eventually nutted out - whew!! Even then we overshot GZ substantially and had to double back to add it to our smileys. The geotrail was not as pronounced here and we were surprised by a couple of mounds of a certain type of material nearby, the cache on the other hand was well hidden and in good condition. Our nineteenth of the Wandering Heroes for the day, onward and upward. Our thanks to the The Masters Apprentice (aka sushilord) for the puzzle, cache and for the fun. Cheers [^]

19-Apr-14
Bogonghazy and I did a good many of the WH trail 2 years ago, and then a few more 12 months ago, but of course, it's grown again since our last visit. Today we set out to collect the latest additions. I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting Zytheran yet, but look forward to coming across them one day on the caching roads. Congratulations on your inclusion in this wonderful series. My thanks to The Masters Apprentice for the cache.

19-Apr-14
Found this one with Sully1 on our third attempt at this ever-growing series from the cache mad state SA.
Thanks go to sushilord for placing this one, and although I haven't come across Zytheran as yet, I have to congratulate them for their inclusion in the series. Have heard of the legendary caches placed by this cacher, a great contributor to our game.

19-Apr-14
I was extremely pleased that the puzzle for this cache was nothing compared to the DOWN RIGHT NASTY ideas Zytheran has in his head... I have lost many hours of my life and much hair solving some of his puzzles.... Twisted

Back in 2010, a group of QLD'ers spent 6 months solving only Z puzzles, then headed to SA to pick up our prizes... We met at the end of day one at an event, which the puzzle minded one attended and introduced himself... He then explained how he sets his terrain ratings... Yikes, REALLY... Surprised Perhaps we should strike "those" ones off the list for now then... Wink

Always there to lend a hand or offer a clue when your at GZ, Zytheran is a fine member of our community and I enjoy his puzzles and some of the locations we get to chasing the container. Thanks Zytheran. [^]

Out and about in the company of Kaisho53 this morning, we worked our way through just a few of the Wandering Heroes series on a pleasant, sunny, Saturday morning. This cache was found safe and sound.

My thanks to all the hunters who have gone to the effort of recognising another cacher for one reason or another. It's great so see the tributes growing.

Cheers sushilord.

Found this one on our day out from the Oz Mega as we attempted the Wandering Heroes trail. logging this one as Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, Backwards Charlie, and myself) this one one of the many great Caches we found along the way Thanks for the great effort put into creating and maintaining these caches over this very busy period.
Sorry for the Generic Log but with 200+ caches to log today the mind is very Numb.
Happy Caching.

Out for a Mega day of caching with Eartbound Chief and Co. What a blast we have had over Easter this year with soooo many caches to choose from in the local area. Many thanks for all the effort in placing them.

Out on another Mega caching day with Lisette & family. Had a lovely drive out through Wellington & crossed the river via ferry, now to tackle some of the Wandering Heroes caches that have popped up since our last adventure here. Thanks to all those who placed these caches so we could find them. TFTC

Attended the OZ Mega - enjoyed wander around the country... search, found and signed the log with KB. Thanks.

18-Apr-14
Out with Everlasting to find some caches. This trail seems like a tribute to mainly S.A. cachers which isn't surprising. As such, there are few names I recognise but I can still enjoy some novel containers and appreciate the smileys on my map. Thanks for your contribution to the Heroes.

16-Apr-14
Found at 12:15 PM GAFF1 in the company of Ian from Ian & Sue Team Pathfinder.
Ahhh - a simple puzzle for once [^] This could have been the only cache in this loop that we did this morning that we could not find, but a quick look at the puzzle and we were onto it.[^]
Thanks sushilord.

11-Apr-14
Over from Perth to attend the SA Oz Mega. Decided to head out today, our 2nd day in a row and see how many more of this series we could complete..

Great day all up with no DNF's Big Grin and a whopping 153 finds but still plenty more in this series for us to find before we can claim to have it finished up to current. Our biggest number of finds in a day for sure.

The weather was much kinder today. We saw several centipedes guarding the caches but thankfully no snakes. Mr Felix took a few tumbles as he was busy watching the GPSr and not the ground! Red Face Thankfully all okay though.

Thanks to all those who have contributed. Look forward to attempting the rest soon. Big Grin

Out caching some Wandering Heroes caches with Dr Owl and sushilord.

I had solved the puzzle for the trip so we were definitely stopping to find the cache even though the light was fading and we had another important mission to complete before sitting down to dinner at the Tailem Bend pub.

In true Zytheran style there was a piece of man made equipment associated with this cache Smile

Another find on a great day. Have a favourite point.

Finally have managed to solve this puzzle with help from DKbone61- such a simple pattern when it fell into place. We will have to return to the wandering heroes trail another time to find this cache. Thankyou for the puzzle.

Too clever for us- we will have to work on the puzzle before our next power run.

[:(!] Came over from Perth to visit our geoson (RevolutioSolutio) and his family for a couple of weeks over the festive season. We have camped for the last three days at Avoca Dell Caravan Park at Murray Bridge and on our last day the geoson and I did a good part of the Tailem Bend to Loxton Power Trail while the geowives went back to Adelaide with the two geograndsons in tow, we parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and we walked in from there as this was one of them, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

We decided to come to Murray Bridge after attending the Australian Masters Games in Geelong as we were half way here. Whilst we are here for another day we thought we would see how many of the Wandering Hero's we could find. Great trail well done for the cache owners we had fun. We solved this puzzle before we left Canberra, was great to collect it! Saw the eagles again today awesome! TFTC

Having nutted the solution out to this one back in Melbourne I was really excited to come and search for the container. No disappointment as the container was soon located, in a nicely chosen spot. Thanks to The Master's Apprentice for the cache.

A fun day was had by all and we found some very creative caches out there and some that weren't part of the series. I will let McKee Clan write a more detailed log for all the caches. TFTC SL

9am at Wandering Heroes ... The Honour Roll and Clare007, Mrs Burtons and I had only a few moments to wait before the McKee Clan turned up.
Then Gizmo's Gang arrived and off we headed for a full on day of caching! Smile
I managed to locus cache 99 caches by the end of the day as I had been here to play before!
Congratulations McKee Clan on your huge 180 finds, really amazing considering you had with 3 children in tow! Cool

Yes, that sure looks like a typical Zytheran hiding spot...well, some of his are hidden like this Wink
I remember someone saying to me at an event ages ago, 'That is Zytheran' and I was surprised that he didn't look anywhere near as mean as his puzzles and *terrain stars* would imply Wink

We started the Wondering Heroes Trail at the Tailem Bend at the Honor Roll, with a 3 car convoy.
Heading the starting blocks with the McKee Clan & spy kids,
Not far behind, the wheel of Harry with Locus cache, The Burtons & me &
In the middle of the chaos was the Gismos Gang.
Considering the unusually warm weather we didn't see any serpents,
But then again, if you heard ten creatures crashing through the bush would you hang-around?
Actually, it was near the first place we looked, but the clue left us scratching our heads.
The glass arrangement nearby was interesting, but my camera couldn't quite capture the image properly.
Cheers Sushilord

Found with The Rats, FarmerFrentzen and Big Matt and Shell as part of a ‘Gangsters’ trip to tackle the many power trails in South Australia over a 4 day period.

This whole trail is quite long with so many caches- it took the best part of a very full day starting from Tailem Bend before we were able to bed down in Loxton for the night. Some really great tribute containers along the way. We even managed 2 FTFs!

TFTC!

Our 7450th overall find.

Found with "The Gangsters", steeba, The Rats and FarmerFrentzen on our SA 2013 trip. Today we travelled from Murray Bridge to Loxton focusing on the Wandering Hero's series. The entire journey took us around 13 hours including lunch. This is find number 50 of 311 for the day.

Thanks sushilord for the cache.

Heading over to South Oz with steeba, Farmer Frentzen and Big Matt, it was great to have the gangsters back together for another SA invasion, last time we were here was 2009.

We found this cache as part of the many series/trails we found over our 4-day spree. Our trip has created many milestones, none better than our own new one-day record and a new monthly tally.

I apologise for the duplicate log, by no means does it detract from the enjoyment of finding this cache. Thanks to contributing to the gangsters invasion.

Found during another invasion of South Australia with The Rats, Steeba, Big Matt and Shell (collectively known as The Gangsters).

It was 2009 when we were last together as a group in South Australia to set a 24 hour record but with the advent of power trails the game has certainly changed! This time, we weren't here to break any records but to enjoy picking up some good numbers over the variety of the trails that seem to be popping up everywhere in South Australia.

Since the first of the Wandering Heroes were published we have been keeping an eye on it. Today's run was long and hard, but thoroughly rewarding at the same time. I enjoyed the variety of hides that presented in stages, and for a lot of the series we were seeing red. A massive amount of work has gone into creating the trail that I hope will only continue to grow over the coming years so we can have a chance to come back and again experience the fantastic countryside on offer.

Thanks sushilord for the cache.

Always happy when I find a puzzle cache still in place. Enjoyed travelling along this quiet road in the sunshine today as well as the puzzle, that was worked out, long before my trip down here to visit family.

Found with Gonefishen07, Bounty Trackers and KTCvic, our first day doing this series. We all had great fun and appreciated all the work that has been put into this series by the cache owners and those that are looking after these caches for the CO's. Thank- you to CPwanderer for starting up this great series of caches that pays tribute to so many. KTCvic, Gonefishen07 and Bounty Trackers have already logged so I have run out of stories to tell that you haven't already heard. TFTC and thanks for the great fun that I had in finding these caches with the othersBig Grin. Congratulations to Zytheran for being included in this series.

Found with Zobo04, Bountry Trackers and KTCvic. What a fun time we had 5 days of caching madness lots of laughs and not much sleep. Managed to even get 301 caches in a day, thanks for the fun Zoe, Ash Katy and Trent I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had done most of this series in 2012 so was secretary for awhile. I did get to catch up on those that had been published since my last visit. Even managed to hide 7 along the way while here, thanks must go to CPwanderer again for starting this fantastic series and maintaining the caches I put out it is much appreciated. Well done to all the CO's and to those that have been honored on this trail I congratulate you. Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

5 cachers - 5 days - 4 power trails - 301 caches in one day - 630 caches in total

An extended five day weekend saw KTCvic, Bounty Trackers, Gonefishen07, and Zobo04 heading over to Murray Bridge, South Australia, for weekend of power trail caching punctuated by the odd individual cache. Our main goal was to complete the Wandering Heroes, Lost Wanderers, OZ Mega 2014 SA, and OZ Mega Signal trails which we achieved over three days of intensive caching.

Saturday morning we were back on the trail to find the remaining Wandering Heroes. We made an early start, driving out to pick up where we left off yesterday.

We soon got into a rhythm of driving, stopping, jumping out, signing logs, jumping back in, driving, stopping, jumping out... you get the picture. Competition to find the hides was high between individual cachers, with “eagle eyes” Zobo04 blitzing the field. It took us most of Friday and Saturday to complete both the Wandering Heroes and Lost Wanderers trails. In addition to our finds, Gonefishen07 also placed seven new caches on the trail, of which we were honoured to have one of them named after us. Even though it is a power trail of sorts, with so many cache owners contributing to the trail, it provided variety and the effort gone into making hides a fitting tribute to individual cachers was not lost on us.

Thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches. Katy and Trent also want to thank Ash, Leesa and Zoe for such a great trip. It was filled with plenty of laughs, lots of ribbing, numerous war wounds, and great company!!!

Away on a five day caching trip to South Australia with KTCvic, Gonefishen07 & Zobo04 to do the Wandering Heroes Series, The Lost Wanderers series, Oz Mega 2014 SA, Oz Mega 2014 Signal and whatever we could find along the journey.

Finding a total of 630 caches during our trip. Also finding 301 finds in a day (not much sleep was gotten on this day) and lots of laughs, and fun on an adventure with great friends.

This was the second day on the trail we started at 7am on the Wandering heroes series and just kept on going until we gave finished. We found 140 caches in this stint, with many good caches along they way.

Thanks sushilord for the cache

The cache maker and I travelled from Queensland to find some caches, and this trail seemed like a good one to do.
We found a lot of plastic fruit bottles that were not done up properly, or replaced upside down, regardless they all still ended up with some water in the cache. these fruit containers also perish very quickly, and we found more than one that had already cracked from the heat, which is unfortunate, as these caches will all have to be replaced either sooner or later.
We still enjoyed doing this series, and thank all the cachers that put the effort into placing caches

thanks for the cache

So this now makes our total find count 6686.

The "Wandering Heroes" series has been on our todo list for quite some time. As we are slowly meandering our way across to the Fleurieu Peninsula to attend an event there, we now have an ideal opportunity to do the caches in the series. We anticipate that it will take quite a few days, especially as we are not in any hurry.

A puzzle for a puzzle master.

Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks sushilord for the hunt today.

As part of the oarsome duo tour of duty today, CoC and T_M thought we would check in some of our friends WH caches and some of the more 'favourited' (not a word) ones. The evil one is cunning, sly and has a mean streak the width of Princes Highway itself. His caches often leave us beaten up, physically and mentally. Hours have been wasted in an effort to find the seamless logic contained in some of his puzzles but the satisfaction at the end of it all makes up for the torture. TFTC sushilord.

TigerMuffin and I had our first taste of the Wandering Heroes trail today and decided to pay homage to a few of the inductees along the way.
This cache must have the least visits of the entire WH trail. After all, who likes puzzles? [:p]

TM and CoC salute you Z, for challenging our brain power and taking us to some of the most breathtaking spots in SA.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.

I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.

Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.

The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.

Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.

Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.

Thanks, Quasar3671.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.

As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.

To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.

****************

Tuesday was the day of our record run from midnight to midnight. We rested before the start and got a few hours sleep. Once we started, it was a blur of caching, we did the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were being found so quickly, it was amazing. The time went very fast, and at the end, even the several cans of energy drink did nothing to hold off some tiredness. I got through, and was proud to have been part of this incredible day.

****************

Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.

Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.

With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.

Tuesday was our attempt at a 24 cache run which naturally started at midnight and finished at midnight. It was a great run with Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TdF cache series being picked up. At one stage caches were being logged so fast it was all a blur. Naturally a few cans of toughen up were consumed many laughs had.

While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

Go TDC.

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.

The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.

With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday was the day of our record attempt, a crack at the 24 hour Australian record. Starting at midnight and finishing at midnight, it was an awesome run. Some rest and sleep was had before the run, and many, many cans of energy drinks (harden up) was consumed during the 24 hours. We picked up the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were found and logged at an immense speed, and in hindsight, the greatest single day of caching I have ever had. It was hard, hard work, but a lot of fun. Humor and our goal kept our spirits up during a mammoth 24 hours.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. TFTC and the memories.

I had solved this puzzle back last year once we'd got home from our first (puny) attack on this series. Thankfully the Moose brought the notepad with the solution in it, as I'd totally forgotten, and when I looked at the puzzle on the road today I had no idea. I also looked at a few of Zytheran's puzzles, and was totally dumbfounded. Thanks for the cache, sushilord.
