I was really hoping to find this one after I thoroughly enjoyed the concept, buy you'll have to add us to the list of DNF's

This was supposed to be #100 for today, but alas we could not find the cache. Maybe next time, but I do love the concept!

Cheers

I think there is a problem here. I got a volcano but at the site, park management has taken place and there is only remnants of what once was. Great concept but I think this cache is suffering from lack of owner attention.

After DNFing Turn the Page, there was no turn in my luck. I had the coordinates down to +/- 3m which also provided a pretty clear hint. Had a good look at the spot where my GPS zeroed out, and expanded my search from there. With nothing to show, I abandoned when some kids rode up to play on the playground.

Edit: Oops, wrong option from the picklist! Definitely not a find for me today.

(12:56 PM) Bugger. Got the guesses to within 10 metres. Got to GZ and spied a couple of likely spots, but found nothing. Rang the help line and got a description of the hide. Found something like what was described but there was no cache inside. Will email the owner.

Hot cold or just right I don't know about. But what I can tell you is that by the time we reached here in the early afternoon it was Hot. Parked quickly in the little shade and I may of even left the car running at this stage to give us a little relief upon our return.
JABs.

Had fun solving this one. A interesting concept for a cache.
The park was empty but it still took a few minutes at GZ for the hide to be discovered.
Not too difficult in the end and didn't take as long as it did to get from cold to hot.

TFTC well done

Found on a puzzle run en-route to the puzzling event.... not quite...first stop on the way to dinner however a family of muggles turned up almost immediately thereafter and proceeded to bunk down on the nearby equipment. So off to dinner but decided on a quick drive-by on the way home for this one. Was fun to solve.TFTC.

This was quite a bit of fun to solve, but we were a long time getting around to being over this side of town. Then we had some difficulty finding it, and wandered around a while before having a better look where Mr Winglen first looked and there it was - well hidden, but not that hard. It just needed a thorough sift through all possibilities. Thanks pocketatomic!

The puzzle was quite fun and I can see some effort has gone into it, so first of all thanks heaps for that. Something completely original.

Then, something not original is me going to GZ and coming up empty. I had GZ down to 10m and thought that would be enough, but came up empty. When other logs showed it was found yesterday, I knew I'd overlooked it. A few more tries at the puzzle and I narrowed down GZ much better - a quick search today and BINGO!.

Thanks heaps for a fun cache.

Nice cache TFTC!
One of the harder caches. First look was extremely hard and could not find it.
2nd look was half a minute searching.

Proves that you should check twice!!!

What an interesting idea.
Of course I had no idea about it until we were in the car and all rounder started explaining it to us.
Then we had an idea... "Let's look!"

allrounder naturally circumnavigated the area, I just went to the cache...
No point wasting time, I say!

Thanks for the cache and idea.

This is my first geocache in aaaagggges!

Found @ 2:01pm with Fore! & Shadow! during a cache maintenance run for Fore!

I had got to within 50m of GZ on the PC awhile ago before trying again last night, this time getting within 10m. I searched near the hide without making the find but as soon as Fore! got off the phone she found it. Nice puzzle and sneaky hide, thanks for the cache Pocketatomic!!

Found with allrounder and Fore!

Rode on allrounder's coat-tails for this one - I would have found it but Fore! beat me to it!

3804. [font=Century Gothic][green]Wandered over to GZ, thankful that it wasn't in close proximity to the equipment nearby. Stuck my hand in the hidey hole and was meet with a swarm of midges piling out of the hollow. Quickly withdrew myself and my hand (not necessarily in that order) and then spotted the cache as I ducked under the cloud of insects. Huddled behind the tree to sign the log out of the light rain.

Second cache of the day for me and Cacher (geopup). Sorted GZ out awhile back and finally out today to find a few of them. Nice park, even if it was a little wet from all the recent rain.

TFTC!

2102+133=2235 with Captain Tomato

A very novel puzzle - thanks for the fun! and the exercise of trying to work out the most efficient algorithm to minimize the number of guesses before hitting the correct coords.

Found with SecretSquirrel-BJC.

Cool puzzle, umm, I mean hot!

Something different can be something good. And so it is with this cache puzzle. Enjoyed playing the game and seeing/reading the comments as the co-ords gave themselves up. Had a small 'what the...' moment at GZ, but got that sorted and all was good.

Thanks pocketatomic, very enjoyable little puzzle. CoolCoolCool

Had solved this one a week ago and had two computer on as my big computer doesnt like running some software. Kepts on freezing. Tonight we were coming home with Blackbunny from a nights maintance of a night cache on Mount Talyor. We were about to do this cache and a ftf chance came up. So rushed back and did that cache. After that cache we decided to try this cache again. Made a quick find as I actually got this was the spot. Can say I got frozen anumber of times. But managered to get it which is always pleasing. What a great little puzzle, enjoyed it! TFTC

Daylight, ahhh, that's better for seeing THAT! VERY NICE HIDE, sneaky. Liked the puzzle, got badly frostbitten a few times, then thawed out nicely, then (eventually), boiling. That was fun, Thanks.

Derived the EXACT coords, then spent AN HOUR at the 2 GZ objects (and all others within 100m !!!!!!!!!!) to no avail. I jammed a 60cm stick in the likely GZ object for you to see I had the location. seems cache is GONE or ridiciously hidden by someone ?????????????

I'LL BE BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not in the rain this time.

02-Nov-10
Well this is embarrassing.

I went there and then worked out I had actually gone to “The Spiel”.

Sat there for 5 minutes but could not for the life of me remember where “Hot or Cold” was.

Back home again, looked up Google earth. Oh that’s right. Back out again.

Can confirm cache is still in place.

Forgot to look for the stick, but I didn't notice it as I checked that cache if that helps?

Greetings from NZ. Yay solved!!! Great puzzle. Got really lucky initially and then went round in circles! But I was determined to achieve the actual co-ordinates. Will try and get there in the new year to find the actual cache. Thanks very much for a novel puzzle. - PUZZLES ARE GREAT.

2922 - A couple of good finds after work today before the rain...

Wow - this was a great, very different puzzle. Took about 20 mins but I guess I got lucky at the start. Nice little hidey hole and door at GZ once the muggles had moved on. Thanks for a really nice one...

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

Found on our caching trip today with W6R. We were the 3rd & 4th to log. We got pretty close with the geochecker but haven't managed to get it spot on yet, even though we have found the cache.

Ah!!!!! Finally got the co-ords

A great day to be out and about and to nab a few scattered unfound caches. Stopped by with Crystal Warrior.... Something different and a nice challenge. CW spotted the hide as I moved to avoid some local muggles.... We were third and fourth after MV.

Reperio at 1810. Got the notification of this one while we were in Civic doing a spot of shopping. Tried entering a couple of guesses in but all I got back was 'No'...No you're hot or cold. Got back home and had another look at it, and this time when I typed in a couple of guesses, I found out just how hot and cold I was. Through trial and error, got the coords to within 20m and thought that'll do. Got to GZ when Tankengine just picked up the cache for the FTF...Unbelievable!

Fantastic novel cache. One of my favourites I've done in recent times.

Gratias.
