2618. [font=Trebuchet Ms][red]Well done O319 on coaxing us out here on a Friday night. Really sorry that I had an appointment in Melbourne in the morning to throw my Grandparents at rose bushes. I would have loved to have stayed, watched the bush TV and swapped yarns. The usual suspects were drawn out and I suspect others will follow on the next camp out - Chinese New Year?

Great night and a great morning...........
Arrived just after 6.00 (pm) with the 0319 and Tankengine families, along with MBO just starting to cook. Decided to wait a while, and along with Albida, Mr Roo, Mrs Winglen and McPhan cooked up a small feast a little later. With dinner going along nicely and a good fire roaring, a few drinks were the order of the night. The sun went down, the stars came out and a great night, chewing the fat, was had by all. (That's what we get for eating sausages I guess.)
As the night wore on, those not staying went their merry ways, leaving the remaining few of us to sit and enjoy a few more refreshments. From memory, I hit my upside swag around 11.15pm.
Morning dawned (for me) around 7.00am and it was back to the relight the fire, cook yet more snags, with eggs, and enjoy a bit more, this time subdued, conversation. Packed up around 8.30 and after the goodbye's, it was off to start a day of caching.
I believe a great time was had by all, and I look forward to doing something similar again. Thanks to 0319 for the arrangements and to those who attended. Couple of (morning) photo's attached.
Cheers,

A small group for overnight a few more for dinner. Plenty of time for war stories and even a fire later on. A peaceful night and a cooked breakfast, what more can you ask for ! Thanks.

Came up here with TE, BBBB & SQau. Had a couple of sausages on the BBQ. Saw some kangaroos, and some cachers! Unfortunately, couldn't stay too long, because I was due to attend another party! - Must be that time of year. Thanks for organising O319...

Came up with TE, MM, and SQau. Brrrr - it was cold up here, I should have brought a jumper. Anyway, saw a few kangaroos, had a sausage in a sandwich. Met some cachers! Thanks.

Popped over after work for a quick catchup, and BBQ with the whole gang. Great little area! Would have loved to have stayed the night, but had too much happening at the moment. Thanks for organising! Nice to catch up! Merry Christmas!

What a great night. perfect spot, perfect weather, perfect company. What more could a cacher ask for?
Thanks to those who attended and to those who sent apologies.
There will be no January meeting, so stay tuned for something in February......

A very pleasant evening spent in the company of a small but select group. Drove up there with McPhan, cooked some dinner, had a couple of drinks and enjoyed lots of good conversation under the stars.
This really is a nice little camping spot and I was sorry that I wasn't staying overnight, but it sounds like it might be repeated some time. Thanks O319 for a terrific idea, and well organised. I hope those who stayed on had a good night undisturbed by too many snorers or possums. We had an interesting trip home - while I can't even hope to beat the MBO kms on bike tally, we did see three wombats on the way, including one right in the centre of the road, who was not inclined to move - obvious enjoys the spotlight...headlights. No one around so we sat patiently and waited him out (not much choice really, he was almost bigger than my little car!). Thanks again O319, a very nice evening.

Rode my MTB all the way from home during the afternoon, collected the 300 Spartans cache up the top of the hill them rolled back down to this site. by now I'd ridden 39km so far. Met lordjimbob55 waiting there. Then after a while O319 and various others arrived. Had a great chat with everyone, cooked my (still frozen) burgers. Then about 8:30 I bid farewell to all, turned on my bike lights, and one Coooeeeeee, fantastic ride down the hill. Then a pleasant ride back home under a beautiful clear starry night sky - nice! Got back home in 1hr 15mins. A 62km round trip including 1 cache & this event.
Thanks O319, a top spot to sit, relax and talk, and of course, the ride down. Saw 1 rabbit and 1 wombat on the way back, and have I mentioned, LOTS of stars!

O319 - this is a great concept and I wish I could make it.
Alas and alack, I shan't - Maybe next time.
I hope you all have a wonderful time and have some early Christmas cheer.

Doubt I can make it but haven't given up just yet. But in the spirit of things, there is another new cache up there, courtesy of two 300+ cachers !

Sadly I am unable to attend as I have another engagement that day Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!
28th
Tentative will attend - Eynowd and the small ones have a prior engagement that evening, and they have dibs on the vehicle. If anyone is heading that way from the Northern suburbs (WAY northern), and coming back that evening (and has a spare seat in their vehicle) perhaps drop me a note?

RE: which campsite is which.
Yes MBOZ we got that wrong . Cache listing done in a hurry yesterday before we headed off to the Cotter for the night. Mistake has been fixed. For those of you who cannot work out the online booking system the phone number listed can also take bookings, but only during office hours.
Also a slight change to the text removing the slightly ambiguous statement about me booking the campsites. You all need to book your own site please.

Hi, you say "The Gemini site is for campervans/caravans and Ribbon Gum for tents", yet looking at the TAMS website you refer to, The Gemini is for Campers, the Ribbon Gums is for Campervans, not the way you specified.
