Well I really enjoyed my first event cache, had lots of fun and got to ask some of those long wondered geocaching questions. Great to here some of the stories and meet some other geocachers.

The 2009 Christmas event came hot on the heels of our return from Antarctica, barely 10 days to organise at least our thoughts! Our thanks to all those who made the effort to come, some from very far away (Austria, Dunedin, Wellington, Whangarei, Whakatane, Hamilton), and to those who brought along some yummy treats to share. Check out TC's Homemade Fudge, Leons Apple Cake, and Mrs YuGeo's Christmas Cake, then there were Veras Xmas Cupcakes - yum, yum, yum.
The Chuck the Cache competition went from strength to strength, with the reining champion XC (Clive) surpassing last year's effort with a chuck over 13 metres. Check out some of the throwing styles from the photos, in particular Zork V - very classy.
Gary - keep practicing for next year, you can do it.
Good to see everyone had the right co-ordinates this year (well done Uncle Brian), but M@, who got there first, seemed to head off towards the NZ Chef's picnic - maybe it was the thought of gourmet food.
The Awards - to Wacky B for Alice GC1QRZ4, an innovative multi. CCoutts for Fort Bastion GC1K1QG, to Glyn for the biggest camo job of the year (his house for his Battle of the Bridges - the Truce Event). MM1968 got the Rubbish Monitors Award which he accepted with much grace (for loosing a drink bottle in the Waitakeres which we retrieved the following day). Kiwi Couple got the Most Addicted Cachers Award, Darby & Joan the worst injuries sustained whilst caching award, TK good to see you back after 11 months of rehab after a cycling mishap and the Wonderstuff for producing the longest log. Thanks to Butterfly Lady and FMZ for donating prizes too.
Great to see the number of families coming along - we might have more for the younger cachers next year. Zork V has a list of all Travel Bugs present, just email him. Finally, thanks to Brett & Barb for helping to pack up at the end of what was an excellent day. The bear has retired for a well earned bath!

Hoping to be there, but will be a bit late ( We grow and sell christmas trees so today is a busy one for us).
13th
Nearly the end of our first year of geocaching, and this was our first Tramper Ted Christmas Event. We can see why it is considered one of the highlight events of the year. We initially thought we would be unable to attend because of our christmas tree business, but having heard such good comments about previous Christmas Events we were determined to find a way to be there, albeit late. At the prize-giving we won the prize for the most dedicated/addicted cachers of the year. We acknowledge that we are totally addicted, but are having too much fun to worry about that! Thanks for a fun event, and the chance of a few hours relaxation in a busy month for us work-wise. Enjoyed catching up with / meeting so many other cachers.

Nice to meet Ted at long last, and had fun playing cricket. Pity we had to go so soon (school tomorrow and all that).

This event gets bigger every year. Thanks for organising the games TT. Great to meet everyone. Cheers, M@

A bit of a fly-by visit unfortunately. OmaGosh & I did a bit of peak bagging in the Waitaks which took a bit longer than planned, so we missed the much anticipated cache tossing. Probably just as well though with my dodgy shoulders!
Great to see so many cachers in one spot, and nice to finally meet Ted, the big furry one himself.
13th
We had a ball great too meet so many people and be able to faces to names. Thanks

Thanks for the brilliant event TT The weather was great and the kids (both big and small) loved the games! Nice to meet so many new faces and as we're still 'newbies' to this, it's great to learn the tricks of the trade from the Masters! Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks heaps for this event. It was great to make the acquaintance (and even reacquantance) of just a few of the Auckland cachers I've been familiar with through their caches. Will make my future caching visits to Auckland even more fun. TFTE, Biggles and Co (Adam, Aileen and Lil'Stu - on the day), Nelson (#999).

Wow, thanks Jim and Jill for a great event - our first TT xmas bash. A lot of fun and obviously a lot of organising effort so thank you! Great to catch up and chat with cachers we know and also meet some we knew only by username (ADV, psychrn, Zorgon, Curglaff, to name just a few). TFTC!!!

What a great event, perfect weather and great company, so many names we have seen in the logs but not met the owners. Also great to meet up with the late night FTF mob in daylight . Thanks so much Tramper Ted for organising the event and glad to see that Jim & Jill helped you out. After a long weekend caching this was a great way to celebrate our 1400th find T4TC.

Two years now since I attended my last one of these (I really should get out more) and they are clearly going from strength to strength every year. Totally awesome, thoroughly enjoyed catching up with the usual suspects (you know who you are), and meeting so many more.
Finally got meet to those who have eluded (avoided? - just kidding ) me for so long such as Zorgon, Funkymonkeyzone, Greenblat, XenaCommander, and Technokitten. Regretfully still some I didn't get a chance to meet, I need to circulate more sorry, but will hopefully catch you at another event or even just bump into you at a cache somewhere.
This is fast becoming the "must attend" event cache of the year, many thanks all who attended and made it what it was, and special thanks to the Tramper Ted Team for all the effort put into this, it is much appreciated.

A fabulous time, meeting old friends, and finding new ones.
Made this into an overnight trip on Saturday, so had the chance to visit the northern / western battle zone too.
A warm sunny day greeted us, just perfect.
Left to travel home, over the bombays, and dare I mention..... into the rain again.
Many thanks to all who attended and made this a memeorable occasion.
And special thanks to team TT - all three - for putting it all together.
13th
Great to catch up with everyone again. Met some really old friends that we never knew were cachers, some well seasoned cachers that had travelled a long way to get here, and some entirely new cachers! Thanks to Jim and Jill for the organising and thanks to everyone for all the little goodies that got shared around.
Hopefully plenty of you can make it to our BBQ & camping event in February (plug plug...!)

Dear TheRelicHunters - if the reason you're moving to Auckland is due to the greater cache density up there, then stop now before it's too late.
And remember, denying you have an addiction is just that - denial!
