September 2009
16th
Everyone has log their attendance and all trackables have been claimed, so time to archive this one.
Thanks to all who attended, hope you had a great time and meet lots of new cachers.
My thanks again to Dvixen for the kind raffle prize donations.
Look forward to seeing everyone out in the field.
Cheers,
Sol de Lune

fun avent lots of fun
droped Tb

I had a great time forgetting and remembering names and catching up with friends. Thankyou Sol and all those who attended.
Cheers

I had great fun here!!
I made a new freind blackbunny here, came here with darkmadviking.
Had a raffle and I pulled out blackbunny's name!
Man it was so awsome!
Great day or cache Injuryman.
8th
Had lovely time 'caching' up with people mostly not met before out in field. Funny how you sort of have picture in your head of what someone might look like when all you have to go on is a caching name and comments on logs. Nice to put face to names now. You are all so much better looking than I had imagined...;-). Was lots of fun and look forward to next event. Thanks muchly to SDL for organising. Polliwogs

If you put a new cache under your teapot (samwalkers) we could all rush there for a FTF and have a drink and a nice chat ;-)
7th
Thanks Sol and everyone who attended. As has already been stated: Great Day, good show up and nice spring weather.
7th
Well - thanks GUIO -
Didn't mean to talk so much.
Still you know where the tea pot is.
6th
Lovely day for it and a lovely spot, however was a nervous mess by the time I left with a one year old and three year old, that close to the water.
thanks for getting me out of the house.
6th
My first event, mind you I'm only one.... I ate sandwiches.
6th
I came along with my dad and mum. I think the dogs were cool especially the puppy. I liked jumping over the seats and doing a little dance.
6th
My first event. I attended with geo-spouse traineediplomat. Lovely day and great company. Didn't realise there were so many cachers around. Got talking to some other geo-spouses/geo-widows!
6th
Thanks Sol. What a perfect day you chose. Nice start to a days caching
6th
Well, wasn't the weather good to us.
Fantastic roll up and great to meet so many new cachers.
My thanks to Dvixen for the unexpected donation of TB's to add to the prizes. Remember, if you want to purchase any Coins or TB's in the future, drop her an e-mail as I'm sure she will be happy to talk to you.
Congratulations to the prize winners on the day:
FTF for jusojara,
Geocoin to mtrax,
TB's to Black Bunny, Lgoody (from Wagga) and Agent Basil,
and the ready to go cache to justjessie - and from what I overheard, maybe watch out for possible new 'Cache just for Kids' coming soon.
Thanks to all who attended, hope you enjoyed the couple of hours a much as I did and look forward to catching up out in the field sometime.
6th
Great event, especially considering there hasn't been one in a while! Great to see so many new faces too... Came straight over from Passing wind again, and then headed off to Orroral Valley! - Thanks Sol de Lune for organising!
6th
Spent too much time talking to cachers i already know and not enough meeting other people. Doh
That's the problem with caching you don't really know the people behind the names ;-)
Or you don't get to hangout enough because your out caching.
Did meet Norkmeister and Fitzy who are new to me. I think I'm going to have to buy myself a name tag.
Well a great day, and beaten to the FTF by JuSoJaRa again!!!
Now have to lay off finds until we get to Sydney this weekend so that our 1000th is at the First ever Aussie cache in Lane Cove.
I know, we are tragics. ;-)
Only 6 to go - 994 found

dropped in for a quick chat , with Lady Timelord and Zoratz...couldn't stay long, Lady Timelord was a little frantic with the toddlers so near the lakeside
Anyway, always great to attend these events, such an important part of the caching community I feel
Thanks Sol de Lune for organising

Top little catch up. But i'm not sure about this weather thing. Yes there was plenty of Sun and it was a very pleasant day, BUT where was the Moon?!.....
It was great to see all my caching peers and listen in wonder at all the fun it lets us get into. And I even got a chance to talk trig points. Cool.
Thanks for the great event SDL. Hope to see you all on the hunt some day soon.
6th
Agreed, great weather and lots of people.. these events are getting bigger and bigger...we'll have to hire a hall next time!
Attended with the whole family (fergle, munchkaroo and the Little Ambassador). Munchkaroo commented that she loved the hairy dog that was scared of her and she was scared of it.
We took the Spongebob Squarepants TB that I'll log out this afternoon when I get the code off it!
6th
Definitely one of the better parts of caching - chatting in the sun on a magic day, meeting new folk along with the solid core of the GC community, checking around for people with similar caching plans, and helping others by passing on a bit of local knowledge!
Welcome to the 'my first event' attendees - it was great to meet you. Well done to the prize winners and a big 'Thank You' to the prize donors. Thanks Sol for organising another great event - it was most appreciated.
6th
Thanks for organising the event Sol.. I enjoyed meeting so many people whose names I have seen in logs and cursed when frustrated (not to mention any names COUGH COUGH COUtankengineGH COUGH). Hope to run into some of you on the trail now.

wow I actually won something thats a first... a great event.. plenty of new and old faces...
I just managed to finish my fathers cooked breakfast just before the event so perfect timing..
6th
A lovely day to spend time by the lake. It was great to be able to put faces to names to handles.
I also enjoyed being able to talk about geocaching for two hours straight!
Thanks so much for organising this, Sol.
I look forward to catching up with a bunch of you at Tealby's WWFM event, if not before.
6th
Thanks Sol de Lune for putting on a fantastic event. Weather was great, and quite a large crowd.
Such a nice day continued on caching in the Southern suburbs, finally cracking the 500 mark.
Look forward to the next event.
6th
What a fantastic day for an event! The weather was perfect. Thanks a lot Sol for getting
us out and about on a lovely Spring day.....am only sorry that we couldn't stay for long before
having to shoot off to our ACT Beagle Club walk.
6th
Thanks Sol de Lune for hosting the event, was a great time and fabu weather. So many faces I hadn't seen in a while, or hadn't met before! Smiles and happiness all around, what more could you ask for from an event. :D
Note to self - Aussie sunshine might feel really nice in the spring, but it's near as mean as it is in the summertime!
TFTC!
6th
Attended with the geo-hound in tow for a brief visit during a walk. Now that post-grad studies are in full swing there should be limited time for caching....ummm...ooops..ended up going out again in the afternoon after all. Good to catch up and get a few clues for things anyway. :) Thanks for organising as per usual SdL.

Great event and an absolutely perfect day for it.
Thanks to Sol De Lune for organising it and thanks to everyone for showing up :)

Beaten to a FTF again by JuSoJaRa!
Totally overwhelming though. So many people - so many conversations - so little time.
The last event was more than 80% of my caching life ago.
Great fun but I still have an intense curiosity only partly satisfied.
Thanks Sol de Lune for the organisation and perfect weather.
6th
A great day was had in Canderra,I managed to pick up 10 Caches for the day, Thank to Sol for turning on the perfect weather, I will have to come again
Left Geocoin Bessie's Travel Coin

Managed to get to this one after a lunatic run to and from 'one for the road' during a cache run today and was only a few minutes late for the start. It was great to meet up with the usual suspects and new faces. Lots of planning going on for the upcoming newcastle invasion and several treks / forced marches out to Namadgi.
I had a few swaps but was nervous about the cracks down into the water so kept them for a later cache today. I went up to Anslie after this and could still see some people in that area from there.

2098. [green]Great turn up Sol and well organised. As usual I didn't get around to as many as I would have liked, but it was fantastic to see so many other [s]lunatics[/s] fanatics out and about. Spring is sprung the grass is riz, I now know where the cachers is, um was, er were.
TFTC Sol and the welcome to Spring.[/green]

1571 - What a Great day for an Event down by the Lake !!
Was really nice to meet up with so many new cachers - I just wish I had the time to talk to everyone there but time got away from me... Looking forward to seeing the final numbers of attendees !
Thanks to Sol for organising - and to those who donated stuff its another big Thanks !
See you all around sometime / someplace...
Cheers....
6th
Wow! What a whole lot of fun! Exceptional weather and it was really nice to see that it wasnt just the caching types enjoying it!
Thank you so very much Sol! This was my first event also and I was greeted by you and many others like an old friend!
Terrific to be able to talk caching with others who have had similar experiences or could help with troublesome caches or even just laugh at the silly things you've done in the quest for the cache. Met many familiar names, but missed out on meeting plenty more, so that will have to be next time!
Unfortunately, we had to shoot off earlier than we would have liked as the geo-toddler was having a bit of a meltdown - but hopefully we will everyone again soon!
Thanks again Sol!
6th
It feels like such a long time since the last event, so it was good to catch up with cachers old and new - and there were certainly a lot of new cachers around today, so it was good to put faces to some of the names I have been seeing in logs. Unfortunately I only got to chat with a few of you, but I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities. Thanks Sol de lune for organising & to all of the generous prize donors - just a shame that the drawers didn't do a better job & pick my name out!
Lastly - what fantastic weather (& I'm sure glad this wasn't scheduled last weekend!)
6th
A great day out and a chance to catch up with all the gang! Thanks Sol for organising and picking perfect weather!
6th
So many new faces, but some I recognise from way back. I really should get to more of the Events.
I felt a little on the old side discussing caching in the pre-Google Earth days when all you had to go by was an arrow and a distance. Such marvellous technology today, it really is the future ...
6th
Sorry I missed it Sol. These events are always great times to meet and chat. Look forward to the next one....

Great event and the best weather for starting off spring. Managed to put a face to some of the newer names that have been cropping up on logs. Thanks Sole de Lune for organising it.
6th
Thanks Sol de Lune for a memorable event in a great location. It was very pleasant standing around in the sun, enjoying good company and the lake at its best, sipping on a cappuccino! Very nice thanks. See you at the next one, if not before!

Hi Sol,
Thanks for the event! As a relatively new cacher it was amazing to see the turn out. Wow. TFTC
Oh and for the record can someone please log who donated the coins - and a website where their wares may be pruchased =).

Had fun this morning with dad and mum. Thanks for the prize. Mum and I are planning a kid cache somewhere. Can't resist keeping the "geokid" badge to wear.
6th
Our first ever event - we had lots of fun. It was great to meet people!
Thanks, SolDeLune for organising this.
We were VERY pleased to win the trackable - we never win anything. Now all we have to do is figure out what to do with it. :-)
6th
Thanks Sol de Lune for organising the event.
My first event cache. Great to put some names to faces, and talk geocaching with other enthusiasts!
Cheers.

Ok, so I didn't have swine flu but I was off sick with the flu this week. For those wondering, it did make my tail fall off so I will need to sew it back on - Yeah, I'm watching you SS !
Thanks SDL for organising and arranging for my name to be first drawn out of the hat/bucket/whatever. Lots of faces, still need much work to attach faces to alter agos but I will work on that, I am but a shy Secret Agent. What a lovely Spring day!, Now for my afternoon siesta, how am I ever going to face work tomorrow?
edit - will add some photo's when the upload facility is back on air

Can I bring my pig flu along ?

Well, after a cold Saturday night (-1 I believe), the weather forecast for Sunday is looking good. Sunshine and no rain. All good for Fathers Day and our meet and greet event.
For those attending, when you arrive, head over to the small table I'll have set up. There, you can fill out a check/raffle ticket to go into the draw for an unactivated geocoin as well as the "FTF" for the event.
If anyone wishes to log a a coin or TB into the event, feel free to do so. I'll have sheets set up to record the trackables that come in and for those cachers who take one or two to move on. If you have a pathtag collection, bring that along as well to show it off.
If the weather does turn bad on Sunday morning, I'll log a note with any changes.
See you all Sunday,
Sol de Lune

Well, spent this weekend mourning the end of winter at the snow so I guess I may as well celebrate the beginning of spring next weekend. And the snow is not to great anymore...
26th
I should be able to make it,
but just a note to ask if anyone is planning on going to the Newcastle Invasion event? as I have a couple of spare seats.
24th
Even though it is Fathers Day, I will try to get there.
Finally a chance to thaw out [^]
23rd
Looking forwards to catching up with everyone. :D
23rd
This is the first for me......to actually know about an event before it actually happens. Should I bring my newly acquired Emegency Personal Locator Beacon ?
Will try to make it.
22nd
We would love to attend our inaugural event...woohooo!!!
See you all there.
Jennykate and Mark
22nd
it's now on my "to-do"list :)
21st
I'll be there maybe with Geofamily, maybe not. Will see what the day holds.
21st
I presume you guys all know it is Fathers Day that day? Probably won't matter to us - last year McPhan and Mr W abandoned their offspring (just as teenagers prefer it!) and climbed up to Rock of Ages. This will be much easier access. (And we 're away the following weekend, so date well chosen thanks Sol).
21st
I should be there and looking forward to coming out of hibernation!
20th
Will definitely try and be there
20th
....and just realised I needed to do a "will attend"....

At long last, should be able to get to this event! It'll be nice to meet everyone!
20th
MUst be that time of year! - I was just considering a Spring Sprung event!!!

We should be there. It will be good to catch up with everyone.
