My first GeoEvent. If i ever wanted a bomb to go off in my hands, today was the day, but no. Thanks for organising the event Tealby.
16th
My first event cache. Nice to put faces to many names. Nice spot. Nice weather. Sorry I couldn't stay for cafe chat afterwards. I had deposited non-geocaching-spouse in portrait gallery and had coffee with her after the event.
15th
Thanks heaps for my first geoevent - It was good fun and met a couple fellow cachers. Look forward to future events.
15th
Awww, much to my disappointment, I wasn't able to make this one. The builder gave me a narrow window to run some cable through our half-built house!
Looks like a GREAT turnout and everyone had a great time - which just adds to the disappointment!
Well done on the organising Tealby - great to see yet another successful Canberra event!
15th
EXCELLENT Pictures RexTrex (As always).
14th
My second geocaching flash mob event, the first in Maryland USA. Thanks for organising it!
14th
Had fun, and our part of the circle was the money for pass-the-parcel explosions.
14th
Good to meet everyone! TFTC.

Well - the event is now long over & it is high time I logged my own attendance & provided a wrap up. There are still about 6 other cachers that I'm waiting to log before I archive the event.
Anyway, a big thank you to all for attending & helping to make the event a success. Especially to the muggle family & friends that were dragged along (I hope it wasn't too odd for them!). I believe the final tally was 70 people & 2 dogs - so it was the biggest WWFM in Canberra to date (although not by much). I'd really like to break the ton next time - can we do it???
And the winners were....
10 WWFM pathtags - jusojara x2, Hypoman, Freak1998, mtrax, Fitzy1965, allrounder, betchern0t, Badja, wahlenbergia
Tealby Green pathtag - SamWalkers
Tealby Event pathtag - winglen
Tealby Halloween pathtag - darkmadviking
FTF pathtag - wing6rider
Micro Compass Rose geocoin - CrazyCatMan
Cache Critters Oink GC - rbirtles (donated by Lucy n Roo)
Sol de lune pathtag - darkmadviking (donated by Sol de lune)
Agent Basil pathtag - RexTrex (donated by Agent Basil)
Jusojara pathtag - newpanicsfan (donated by jusojara)
Everlasting pathtag - 2 Leg Drive (donated by Everlasting)
McWinTrex tokens - M_Family (donated by McPhan, winglen & RexTrex)
Scrimshaw Compass Rose Swaggie - Everlasting (donated by SamWalkers)
I think that's all the prizes - a big thank you for all the donated items - let me know if I missed anything!
14th
Thanks for the great event. It was good to catch up with The Clarke Gang, Pinksmurfette, Holdenman, Hypoman and other local cachers.

1883 - Another well organised and fun event.
The Pathtags were a nice touch - thanks Tealby !
Cheers !!

Today was about as good as it gets!
A great morning to be out enjoying the sunny weather, meeting new friends, finally catching up with some who had just been caching names on logs or as email contacts, and the chance for a (quick 15 minute) gossip while hoping for a bomb to go off in one's hands! Tealby, this was another great event, so thank you very much for all the organising and personal effort you put into making it happen - magic!
Thanks team for those warnings about the rose bushes creeping up behind me during the photo shoot - sneaky things, roses. Two pictures provided - I have put myself on the end of the WWFM crowd scene so that everyone is in view - you know the camera doesn't lie [^] [^] [^], and a panorama from between the family groups of DarkMadViking and Jusojara. Thanks Agent Basil for the tag from the bomb parcel (sorry you couldn't make it) and great to swap my cute wee dino dropping (sought after by kids of all ages) for some of those very beautifully designed tags that were on display! Well done all of you!
14th
We came, we saw, we passed the parcel! Geotoddler, nathanr.au and I attended this event - was great to see everyone.
Thanks Tealby for organising...

Thanks for my first geoevent - it was good fun - even if the bomb just wouldnt go off in my hands!
Good to meet a few other local caches
14th
A perfect day for a great event. Thanks Tealby. Nice to see so many people out and about.
14th
Hi all,
Here are some photos of larger image sizes on my Flickr account. I have done a collage of all participants standing around the rose bushes.

Finally - a day where I was able to tick something off (it has been very slow going for the past month or two) Thanks for organising the event Tealby - the ticking time-bomb was a great way to mark the time and Elvis and I both enjoyed the outing very much.
14th
Had a great time. Thanks Tealby

2568. As usual Tealby you've managed to organise and pull off a great event. Fantastic to see a crowd (including interstaters and usually preoccupied locals) at this event. Sooo many new cachers, so many stories swapped (all in 15 minutes too ) Perfect weather and an inspired choice of venue for the theme. Unfortunately McWinTrex had the sniff of a FTF and couldn't stay around after the event for more catch ups.
TFTE and the ring a rosie.

[navy]Today is lovely day and thanks for the event Tealby! It was great to meet geocachers in Canberra. Pity I didnt meet some of them which I would love to intruduce myself... Anyway It was great meet SamWalker, Fore!, BatGirlandCo and RexTrex. Again Thanks to Tealby for organising the event.[/navy]

Hey Tealby, thanks for organising this great event. It was the first "cacher gathering" that geoson and I had been to, and it was good to see so many other like minded people.
We missed out on a prize, but the geoson loved the game, so we went "treasure hunting" in Western Park for the caches there.
Hopefully Rbirtles will be putting his group pic on flickr soon, so we'll all be able to see the great group shot he took in a easy to see size. TFTE!
14th
Tealby, well done! Another outstanding event and this time we were able to assemble three Winglens! (although one might not have enjoyed it as much as his parents). It was, as always, great to get together with everyone and fun to win a path tag too thank you. Then we managed a few swaps before heading off to other things (including a FTF on a Namadgi cache - what a great day.) Thank you to all those who attended and thank you Tealby - these WWFMs are not to be missed.
14th
Was looking forward to this one, but a last minute change in plans meant I couldn't make it on time...
Hope you all enjoyed it! See you next time!

Pass the parcel in action!
A somewhat larger version is available on Flickr. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2702/4101635903_6ffa5d39d9_b.jpg
Sorry about the small photo sizes, Geocaching and Flickr both resized my photo.

Another fantastic event. Lots of people in the sun, plenty of old and new faces. I did not managed to win a prize, so the donation of a PT by a fellow cacher was very appreciated. I expect to have some in the not too distant future. Thanks.

Great event - thank you Tealby for organising this. The pass the parcel with ticking timer was a great idea.I gained one of the Pathtags 8688313.
14th
Great event, thanks Tealby. Was a bit creepy to watch everyone suddenly emerge at 10, but also very cool.
14th
This was our first caching event, it was a beautiful day and we had an enjoyable time even if the timer refused to go off whilst we had hold of it. Thankfully, Hypoman was a lucky winner and passed a WWFM Pathtag over to our 2 year old geokid so we didn't go home empty handed.
We had planned to join everyone for a coffee afterwards but instead thought we would quickly grab Fore!midable Contribution. A quick find but as we were signing the log the 12 week old decided it was time for a feed so we headed into the Questacon cafe. a bit of a shame as I would have liked to meet a few of the names that |we have seen about the place, never mind there is always next time.
Thanks Tealby for organising this, a great effort! And very much appreciated. We also grabbed a Pathtag discount voucher so expect "The Clarke Gang" tags to start showing up soon.
14th
Wow so many cachers and now so many pathtags I was great to catch up with everyone we got to as well as meet some new cachers. No to log all my new PT's
Thanks Tealby for organising such a great Event - as always

Great event Tealby. Top turn out Canberra caches. IT was fun to see us alI in a big circle around the rose bushes
thanks for the fun morning. And the path tag prize at the end. It may even spur me into getting a set.
14th
Well, what a wonderful wonderful turnout. It is so refreshing and exciting to see the growth of the Canberra caching community.
Once again an excellent event organised by Tealby. Great to catch up briefly with a few fellow cachers.
Thanks Tealby for your efforts.
14th
Well done Tealby.....good fun as usual, great game (and parcel)........and how about the crowd!!. Will be interesting to see the final number. Must be close to 60 cachers in attendance. A lovely (& fragrant) spot for pass the ticking bomb. Great little idea Tealby, well done. Good to catch up with many people and to receive & swap some really nice designed path tags.

14th

14th
Thanks Tealby for a fun event. And I was lucky enough to win one of the pathtags.
I brought most of my kids along, and one of my daughter's friends who just happened to come for a sleep-over last night. I'm not sure how she's going to explain that to her mum when she gets home .... "What did you do at your friend's house?", "Oh not much, just participated in a flash mob pass the parcel event and won a pathtag".
Glad to meet JuSoJaRa too.
Thanks again.
14th
nice to put some names to faces. thanks for the event Tealby.
14th
Great morning out in the sun, especially required after getting wet going after the Lake Birley Griffin caches in Sea Kayaks kindly loaned by McPhan. Great event, enjoyed my first of this type.
14th
#567 - That was fun! Largest pass the parcel I've seen . Lovely location for it too. It was good to have a chat with some of the cachers we have met before and meet a few others.
Thanks to Tealby for organising the event, and to those who donated tags and coins. TFTWWFM.

14th
Hadn't logged intention to attend as this was a last minute decision. Very pleased to win a WWFM pathtag! Great to see so many attendees on a lovely morning - excellent organisation as usual Tealby! Thanks heaps!!
13th
I hope everyone has a fantastic time! We won't be able to make the event itself, but hopefully we can catch up with the gang for a bit of socializing afterwards. :)
13th
PS Don't forget to grab a discount coupon if you are planning to get your own pathtags made - $10 off if ordered within the next 2 weeks - there is a glitter finish also available at this time. Coupons will be in the log sheet folder that is being passed around - or see me if you can't find them.
13th

Not long now before the WWFM event... this is one of 152 events in 21 countries! There are 3 other events in Australia - all in the east (Wollongong, Brisbane & Melbourne).
The parcel now contains 20 prizes, so there should be a good chance of winning something, including a couple of GCs and LOTS of pathtags. There may be a few other donations that I receive on the day & I have a separate plan for the drawing winners for these as it would be impractical to add extra layers with such a short time frame for the event.
I will have some spare WWFM tags if any pathtag owners don't win one & would like to trade for one instead. I'll also bring along my spare tags for anyone who'd like to do some trading after the event. I'm hoping that the nearby cafe will be open & we can reconvene there afterwards.
A couple of extra points to note:
- please form up in a circle really quickly at 10am - I want to start the parcel moving almost immediately because it will take some time to complete the game - for those that arrive a bit late, just join in anywhere in the circle
- I think there will be ample people in attendance to surround at least the centre garden bed (but will there be enough to go out another level?!)
- to simplify the logistics for me, the parcel will be accompanied by a ticking "bomb" - when the bomb "detonates" you get to open one layer quickly, reset the bomb & send it & the parcel on its way again - the prizes are all taped to each layer of paper
- the bomb is not that loud, so it definitely won't scare any young children!
- we will have one deaf geocacher with us (Everlasting), but I'm sure that those in the circle next to her will let her know if the bomb goes off
- the aim is to have as many people as possible in attendance - this time there is a definite advantage in having all team members (and even muggle friends) in attendance because that gives you more chances of winning something!
- please CITO all the parcel wrappings so there is no sign of our presence after we have left the site
I'm hoping that there will be a couple of people who bring cameras and tripods so we can get a good group photo. The surrounding area is all pretty flat, so it might be a bit of a challenge to fit everyone in.
I hope everyone has fun - see you all tomorrow...
12th
I'll be there, perhaps with Badja Jnr.

My WWFM event pathtags have arrived, so the parcel is filling out quite nicely. Plus the two geocoins that I have dropped in to this event are also prizes & will be adopted to the person who gets them in the parcel.
I also have some US$10 off discount vouchers for anyone thinking about getting a pathtag made (or re-orders of existing pathtags) - to claim the discount you will need to place an order within 2 weeks of the event - I will be bringing the vouchers to the event, so make sure you grab one if you are interested.
See you in a couple of weeks... (I won't be here for the lunch next week)
