Thanks Batgirl for a great afternoon. A lovely park and great company. Well done.
Tried to DNF the cache at the slide after logging this, and it doesn't appear to be listed anymore???

Thanks BatGirlandCo for a great event. Nice of the locals to add a little excitement to the day.

Hi all, Thanks so much for all the positive comments - good to see everyone had a good ti,me. You have no idea how much trouble I went to to organise the weather and the entertainment! (mmmm....none really....ok just a little bit for the coin-hunt) To be honest yes - I was a bit nervous about hosting an event but it was a fantastic learning experience and to be honest not one I would have been brave enough to consider doing at this early stage if I hadn't been pushed - so a BIG THANKS to Winglen and McPhan for the push in the right direction.

Thanks Batgirl&Co for a fantastic event! The weather held out, and the park was fantastic. Thanks also for the not so-precision driving display! Looking forward to the next event!

Glad the event went well but couldn't manage an escape from more pressing commitments.
Cheers

1961. Along with Winglen I feel a bit responsible for this event being thrust into Batgirl's hands. And from reading the logs what capable hands they appear to be. Well done and I'm only sorry that 1) I wasn't there earlier and 2) there wasn't a re-run of the spontaneous entertainment.

Thanks Batgirl for organising the event. As always, its very enjoyable to catch up with folk & swap stories. Just a shame about the DNF on the nearby cache. Oh well, cant win em all...
Cheers

Was feeling a bit responsible for this event (having made the hospital pass to Batgirl at our last event) and was very pleased to see this go off so well. Mrs Winglen solved the puzzle for me and was then involved in the International Walking Weekend with RexTrex and McPhan so I attended solo.
Batgirl went to no end of trouble in the organisation. Perfect weather, extra chairs, a quiz, a pre-Easter coin hunt, and the cescendo was the stunt car driving display.
Enjoyed as usual discussing caching things with caching people, especially as I had missed out on the Bathurst invasion last weekend. And was happy to pass on some Garmin tip to Oregon/Colorado owners. Field notes are wonderful when you work out how to use them fully.
Very well done Batgirl, thankyou.

A pleasant little event and a nice little walk thrown in, not to mention the other excitement.
Thanks BatGirl for the event, well done on your first, nice to catch up with you too.
After the event I then rode off and found the multi DEFENCive cache, completing a round trip of 61km for the day, Cooeeeee.

Crystal Warrior and I managed to find some time in a house moving weekend. Always nice to swap stories and hear from others about their caching adventures. Sorry we could not be there longer. We are planning our own event soon so stay tuned!
Thanks Batgirl and Co for the organisation and sweet puzzle. (Nice to hear you now have a GPS! Go Batgirl.......)

My original plan for the day was to provide cycle support for an international walking weekend. However, having comfortably hiked 20 km with Mrs Winglen on Saturday, I was convinced by Tealby that I should change my plan and walk the second 20 km today. Mrs Winglen and I did that, meeting up with the McPhan brothers (Jr and Sr) who were doing 30 km, Jusojara (Ju and Ja?) working at a checkpoint, Mr Roo and Zsa Zsa 7.
Having completed today's walk some of us managed to make it to the event in time to catch the tail end of the crowd, though I missed the exciting Police chase event.
Thanks BatGirl for organising the event - I always appreciate the opportunity to catch up and gossip with my fellow cachers.

Ahh Kambah, need to score? How about a gun? Or is it just your child you need to sell? What's an event without a police chase..Good one BatGirl. Thanks for the chance to meet and the event. ZZ7

Pleasant company and a fantastic afternoon. An extremely enjoyable event with a little added excitement as noted in previous logs.
Thanks BatGirlandCo for a fun event. I especially liked the idea of making it a puzzle event.

Thanks BatGirl - I had a wonderful afternoon shooting the breeze with similar minded cacher friends. Thanks for the puzzle challenge for the even coords - novel idea. And it was good to go for a quick impromptu multi with the coin prize.
Thank you, thank you, Mr W, for the gps info - that alone made my day.

Another most pleasant event! Lovely weather, great company, and even a police chase to add to the excitement! It's always great to catch up with fellow cachers, and even better when you learn something new! I learned two things today:
1. How to turn off 'land cover' on my GPS (to improve contrast), and
2. How to make logging caches much easier by using "field notes"
Both are extremeely useful! - Thanks Winglen.
And thanks heaps BatGirlandCo for organising!

amazingly I found the correct GZ, it must have been the end of DST as the cachers rolled up eventually...
a few notable incidents, when a small group attempted a nearby cache a Police patrol car cruised by.. fortunately it kept on going so no embarrassing moment, 2nd incident was a local hoon screech along a nearby street then quickly followed by said police car.. with a small applause by the local crowd.
oh and we found the quick multi set by BatGirl and pickup a coin..
Almost near my next milestone 798..
thanks

Sorry I missed it guys but after pushing a bit hard yesterday, I have hurt my back and thought rest was a better idea.

Well, I have a number, and by the sounds of it I will be at the same place as mtrax. I hope to see everyone else there as well. Albida.

OK - weather looks like it'll hold (fingers and toes crossed) Just in case there will be a rather obvious spoiler at the posted co-ordinates if anyone wants to be pointed in the right direction. Cheers. Batgirl.... the rest of the "andCo" team have other commitments.

Sorry BatGirl, but previous commitments intrude. I will be cycling somewhere around Canberra supporting a walking weekend - and I have no idea where the walk is except south of Lake Burley Griffen. As it is a long walk - 20 - 40 km (depending on choice) who knows - I may even make it into the area of the event!
Hope the weather holds fine and well done with the puzzle entry exam. A nice opportunity to remember the ACT geocache award winners of 2008.

Now if only I can solve the puzzle, I will be there for a while

hopefully this won't be a spoiler but is GZ about 6km from original coords right?

We'll be there but probably not till 1pm

Both Beagles will be there for this one....wouldn't miss it!

hmmmm....checked the forecast for the weekend. You may note that the event location (once you figure it out) does not have shelter from the elements. BBQ's, benches and playground equipment to keep the young-uns abound however.
There could be a possibility of showers on Sunday although they are forecasting them to stay in the ranges. I can only cross my fingers I guess. Worst case scenario - I'm not a witch and will not melt with a few spits....a downpour is not expected (according to the Bureau of Meteorology today) so hopefully all will be well!
29th
2 adults and one geotoddler would love to attend. Thanks Batgirl.
23rd
Unfortunately I will be out of town at my sister wedding or I would love to come along again.
20th
Well - I honestly had no idea a puzzle was not usual for events...but there you go - another first! :) I'll be there quite early to bags a nice possie and will also ensure there is a marker at the posted co-ords just in case anyone turns up there by mistake. Not far from one to the other so all should be well.
Cheers folks.
18th
Other plans for this day so sorry but I won't be there. Careful where you sit folks, who knows what you might find under your seat...
17th
A puzzle event! I love it!
Talking about puzzles - if you solve the "Termite Trails"
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=01c05e45-0918-4e19-9809-c126a246415f puzzle before the day, you may even be able to pop over to collect that while you are there!
17th
Well Done!!!
I will be there.
17th
Should be able to attend the proper location. Fun!
You will need to get there well before 12 to "claim" the BBQ.
