Well, down to only one trackable remaining - probably as good as it will get.
Thanks all for coming!

Hello again,
We will put together a list of the TBs and coins - if you wish to have it emailed pls let us know. It won't happen overnight but it will happen...
Pls check you've logged out all the trackables - all are gone except the four that didn't get written down on the sheet - therefore I can't track you. Pls check you have logged out all that you took home, so that I can archive the event empty of coins etc
We brought home two thin silver bangles that were found on the floor or table neat where Jusojara were sitting.
Thanks!

Great food, great company and somewhere for the kids to cut loose within worrying about them being run over. What more could I ask for?
It was great to make some new acquaintances as well as catch up with others I hadn't seen for a while. The introductions were a fantastic idea and much appreciated.
A big thanks to Mr and Mrs Winglen for organising such a wonderful event.

1996.
What a great evening. The ACT caching community certainly has grown and we definitely filled the restaurant. It was good to catch up with so many new people, unfortunately I didn't get around everyone but next time. When it came time to leave we didn't want to go!
Thanks Winglen for a great evening, we look forward to BatGirls event next!

I really really enjoyed the dinner event (really!). The introductions was great for putting faces to names, as it would have been difficult to get around to everyone. The only trouble with meeting new cachers is having to remember two names...
Anyway thanks to everyone who came along and made it such fun. I had good conversations with many people, heard some amazing stories about caching and life more generally, and also picked up a few useful tips.
Welcome to Canberra Growingupisoptional - I look forward to catching up in future and getting a comparison of Zytheran & SecretSquirrel puzzles.
And welcome BatGirl, and congratulations (or commiserations?) on 'winning' the lucky door prize - if I can help out, please let me know.
We all had a great time, so a big thanks Winglen for organising.

this must support the notion that caching is becoming more popular and family groups are increasingly apart of that increase, good to see the growth translating in to well attended events.
got to hear about quiet a few adventures and goings on and some new and old faces.
Great idea and perhaps we should see a few more of these type of events in future ..
thanks

Thanks all who attended, and from the comments so far it looks like everyone had a good night out. I think we may have set a record at that little restaurant - we've certainly never seen it that busy before! (I have to share this story with you all - Our teens wondered where we going when we said we were going out, but then I left with geocoins in my hand. Dinner was pronounced to be too cool for cachers, and one of them thought we looked too normal to be caching!!) Anyway, thanks again those who were able to attend - hope this is the first of many dinner events, and over to the lucky winner of the no so lucky door prize....BatGirl!!!!

Thanks Winglen(s) for organising this event. Nice to put faces to names. Look forward to the next one BatGirl.

Wow - way to go and jump on in there. Had a great evening so firstly thanks to Winglen for organising it, and I THINK thank-you for organising that no-so-lucky-door-prize. As a new cacher it was great to meet other cachers, get some tips (thanks RexTrex!) and be able to put faces to names. And of course a huge THANK YOU to everyone that offered to help the newbie figure out what I'm supposed to do to organise the next event!
21st
Thanks Winglen(s) for organising this event and thanks to everyone who attended. I love the idea of this becoming a regular event as well as the idea of rotating it around randomly (although I will be checking under my chair before I sit down next time .
Thanks everyone for the great companyas well.

Another great event putting faces to names and talking about shared experiences. It's always nice to share our experiences/frustrations.
Thanks to Winglens for organising and getting such a big group together.

I think that Events are my favourite form of caches and the No Frills Event was no exception - I had a great time gossiping about shared activities, glitzy GeoCoins and beautiful pathtags. I also enjoyed meeting the new folk - a big welcome to ACT caching and hope to see you out hunting caches some day. Great to see the family groups too.
Team Winglen - this event was another winner - many thanks for organising it and for choosing such a great location.

Well, our first Canberra Event Cache. A huge thanks to Winglens for orgnising the dinner, it was also the first time we have had Ethiopian...delicious [^]
Who could believe that so much rice could stick to one small child?!![:o]
It was great to meet so many ACT cachers...now we are really looking forward to the next event
Left: 10 trackables...thanks to everyone who managed to help them on their way.

Thanks for a great night out - the staff were really friendly and did a good job of serving such a large group, as well as their other customers. It was amazing seeing so many cachers in one place - we suspect that this will soon resemble the size of gatherings for any future FTF races here, given the recent explosion of new cachers in the ACT . Great to meet some of you and we hope to meet those we missed at the next event (go BatGirl!). Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Winglen for organising.

Wow, lots of cachers and lots of volume. Wonder what all the muggles next door and out in the courtyard thought was going on. Naah their only muggles... Very impressed with the food as it was definitely something different from the average aussie diet, very enjoyable. Small world too as the better half bumped into a school mate from another team.
TFTC and a special thanks to Winglen for the organisation.

I had a great time - my first event ever. Thank you so much Chris and Jane for all the effort you went to. It was nice to put faces to names.

What a great evening. Thanks Winglens for organising the event and venue, it was excellent. Great to meet so many other cachers.

1699. I found it impressive that cachers could book out a restaurant. The ferals only found it disturbing. One big pointer to the success of this event was the noise level. Seems if you put a bunch of people with like interests (no matter how weird) in the same room there is always something to talk about. Well done winglen on a great night and for kicking off a regular dining event.
TFTE the good company and good food.

A great great night......
Mrs Sol de Lune and I had a marvellous time. Met up with some new cachers, as well as meeting up with some old hands.
Thanks to the Winglens, a great night out.
Cheers,

Thanks for organising the event Winglen - I have wanted to try this place out since discovering Ethiopian food at the northside restaurant. Enjoyed the company of like minded individuals as usual - it's always good to be able to discuss this activity without others rolling their eyes and/or looking strangely at me! Also picked up a tidy haul of trackables, so now have the incentive to get out caching again after a long hiatus. The B Team also enjoyed making his first appearance at an event!

What a great event! Met many new cachers, as well as the regulars! Not only that, but my nervesnous about the food was unfounded - it was all lovely! Great to catch up with you all.

It is great to get out with a bunch of cachers, there is always lots to talk about, adventures and failings. Tonight was a good mix of meeting new cahcers and the usual catch up with existing ones. Thanks for a great evening of food and fun.

The five of us enjoyed getting out and meeting with old and new cachers. The food was great (most of us like trying new things) and the company was terrific.
Thanks Winglen(s) for organising, and hope to see all again soon.

Attended this event tonight, was great to meet and greet some new and some people I have met before. Really enjoyed it! Thanks Winglen for organising a brillant event! Great food and excellent company. Loved meeting and putting faces to some more fellow cachers

Thanks Winglen for yet another fantastic event. Great food, great company, a cache to log, what else could a cacher ask for?
A truly terrific evening. Maybe we should do this on a more regular basis????

I was only able to attend for a short time, and had a marvellous time having a quick hello to most cachers. As usual, it was good to see you all. Hope you all had a wonderful time and meal too.

Hi all,
Including toddlers (but not the babies) we now have 45 persons coming. When I first booked I hoped we might get 30!
As this will fill the main room of the restaurant I'm going to close off the attendance. It also saves me having to phone back again with another increase in numbers!
(If you are desperate to get one or two more in, please email me, but there is not much room to move).
Remember it is BYO beer and wine. Parking can be a bit tight, but there are two car parks and then some additional places along the road. Thanks all, see you there!
16th
I think we're probably the newest cachers in ACT, so it will be nice to meet some of the locals. (And maybe pick up some tips on how to solve puzzle caches?!)
2 adults, and 1 toddler who will probably just eat boiled rice!
15th
Thanks for the offer Winglens, will attend. Wife and kids can't make it though. Might partner McPhan if he showers first.

I'm new to this and don't really know anyone else in the geo-caching community but would like to meet some so the GPS-less girl will attend.

Hmmmm - a little nervous about the food! (Although I'm willing to give anything a try) - But the company sound great, so put me down for one at this stage!

Hi, what a great idea for an event - we've never tried Ethiopian cuisine before so are looking forward to it. Would you put us down for three seats please? (the rest of the Clan are back in Scotland at the moment). Thanks, and we'll see everyone there :)
7th
Updated the listing, after we went over last night for dinner and checked things out. Allowing for a couple of replies below that don't sound definite we now have thirty at least so I think we will get the whole place to ourselves. Still room for more though if you want to attend and haven't yet replied.
We will definitely go for the banquet, at a cost of $27 per head for a mix of chicken, beef, probably goat, lentil and vegetable dishes. Includes Ethiopian coffee. You might decide to order something different for the children - our unadventurous teenager filled up on rice and samosas last night, despite our encouragement to try something different.
And given the wide range of ages now coming along, I have renamed the event our No Frills February FAMILY Event!
And yes, the place IS airconditioned if that is important to you right now

Hi Team - great plan - please count in one wandering RexTrex.
Looking forward to a catchup and a gossip.

Hey Guys! Please count in 5 for CS Family, we are looking forward to it.

Finally some sort of answer from the other beings that live in this abode. Yes for 3 with a "Maybe. I'll see, my interest in new food is outweighed by my disinterest in all things caching." from Oldest.

Update to our numbers please, we will be bringing the Geokids so there will be four of us attending.

Myself and Mrs Sol will attend. Looking forward to something a little different.
Thanks for arranging a night out.

Hello everyone,
About 18 people attending so far, plus the Bewilderbeest 'calves' and the little 'Farmers'. If we get 30, the owner will close the restuarant to other bookings. However, that means I need to give him the courtesy of plenty of notice, so that he knows to either turn away or accept other bookings.
So...if you've half a mind to come can you please let me know sooner rather than later. I would like to give him at least one week's notice, ideally more.
Thanks to those who've responded already - looking forward to it!!

Hi All ... what a good idea. Just a pity that it conflicts with a prior engagement . I know in Vienna they have regular monthly dinners (usually at the same Pub).
We will have to try the restaurant; sounds interesting
Have a great time ...

Yes kids are certainly welcome. You might prefer to choose something specific for them rather than the banquet, but we can work that out on the night!
29th
Hi Chris and Jane - please put us down for 2 adults, 1 toddler and 1 bub.

Hi Winglen,
Great idea, thanks for setting this up.
This is an RSVP for myself, SuperJaz, Ultra Violet Z and Little Buds - if kids are welcome?
SuperJaz is vegetarian (diary & eggs okay, but no fish) otherwise a banquet is fine with us.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Cheers
28th
The two of us will be there!

Great stuff.
Put down for one.

The Tealby A and B Team will be there.

I most likely will come,
but when is the latest you need to book? I would image a week or 2 before to ensure you have enough seats for every one (assuming a medium-large group)
