All clear now to archive this listing. A big thank you to everyone who was involved.
PS I think there are still possibly 2 cachers to log this cache - miainact (email sent) and Bullfrog & Minime (unable to find their caching profile on gc.com). |

I'm still waiting for the last few logs before I can archive this cache. Plus, all the trackables need to be collected.
In addition to my summary of this event listed below, there were 167 events like ours all around the WORLD today! 15 countries and thousands of geocachers "shared" this experience. Sonny and Sandy at PodCacher.com will be bringing together pictures, audio and stories from all the WWFMs around the globe. To see the pictures and listen to the show, go to http://www.podcacher.com - they will also be collating the grand total for the number of people who participated in WWFM III.
For information, there was only one other event in Australia - in Melbourne. They had a few more attendees than us, but not too many more. Hopefully next time we can get every Australian state & territory involved.

Yee-ha!
At risk of repeating everyone else's sentiments - that was fantastic, Tealby! I've not attended an event before (despite best intentions) and that really was great fun. I do regret not having the time to stop and chat with more people, and to miss some of the opportunities to put more faces to names. I think I need a "cacher mugshot gallery". You know what I mean!
Love all the photos that people have posted - great work! The group shot is a corker! (no pun intended, Bubble and Squeak!)
Tealby - you have done a great job (again, I presume) with this. Thank you so much for the opportunity - you have obviously gotten it down to a fine art.
Sol de Lune: what a champ you are - great to meet you. I saw Eynowd in the distance, missed BigOn altogether, was "slap me silly" when I realised that winglen was not a guy (don't you love the assumptions we all make when we read log reports!), enjoyed meeting MtBikerOz yet again - what an icon that fellow is! (I think next to Eynowd, we've run into hm more than any other cacher), and Secret Squirrel!FINALLY my ftf hunter shows his face!, mightydent you're a slip of a fellow, aren't you? No wonder you can run! - BigMatt and Shell, I really really wanted to meet you but had no idea who you were until the log report that identified you as the ones with the boxers that were putting up their dukes with Huxley!!! eheheh Next time!!
Hey, there's more, but even me - with the verbosity rating that smashes most of you out of the water, I'd best stop here. Safe to say I had a great (but brief) time, and look forward to seeing mroe of you next time. I know I was probably identifiable, but so many of you weren't!
And for those of you who might be in the least bit curious, I shot 9 over par today. Not too crash hot, but it could have been worse!
A HUGE thank, Tealby!

Another great event cache run by Tealby.
Thanks for the organisation and running, thanks to the helpers as well.
At the last WWFM in November I was the 'newbie' and the event was my 9th Cache. Todays event was my 400th cache. And to win the coin for the 'best'?? dressed was great, and yes I did try. Thanks to Tealby for the prizes.
I met up with 'Fishingisfun' today, who was a previous supervisor of mine back in my RAAF days. Second time this has happened at an caching event.
Good also today to meet Fore!, Allrounder, Huxley and the crew. A few pathtags were swapped as well as a few stories.
Hope all the new cachers and first time event attendees had a good time and hopefully we will meet up in the bush sometime.
Thanks again Tealby, and happy anniversary.

To see the red outfits and try to put names to them before the ten o'clock gathering time was interesting. Coffee was even better, getting to meet the faces behind the names was a highlight that I will not forget . What a great bunch fellow cacher's you all are.
We are looking forward to the next event hopefully its before we head back to QLD.

A great day - I'm late logging because after the event I took my parents through parts of the War Memorial which they really enjoyed. The event was the excuse I really needed to get along to the WM, my first visit in all the years I have lived in Canberra.
Great to see everyone and meet up again, and another well organised event Tealby. Great prizes, and a really big turn up. Funny to watch everyone walking in the opposite direction of the doorway just the building opening! Thanks again.

Well first cache of this type for me, and was glad to attend, I think it was asked if we had members who joined in March, didn't know for sure so kept quiet, just checked and that would be me...

This was our first WWFM event and it was great fun. We got to the rough area a bit early and saw a few familiar faces hovering around and a fair few people in red! A blow of the whistle soon revealed just how many people were there! We headed on down and said hello to everyone, it was good to see so many new faces! Some cachers that have been around for a while and some that have only just started! Unfortunately it was over all too quick and the hounds wouldn't have been welcome at the cafe so off we went!
Thanks Tealby another great event.

Wow - another great day in Canberra - again a BIG thank you to everyone for attending & for those that made a special effort to dress in red.
My tally of the logs is:
43 log sheets completed = unique caching identities
65 people in attendance (based on photographic evidence, so let me know if anyone arrived after the photo was taken)
3 dogs in attendance
Interestingly, this is almost exactly the same number as last time - then we had 43 unique cachers / 66 total people & 1 dog!! (If only Biggles303 had been able to come this time as originally planned.)
Congratulations to the prize winners (I hope I have remembered correctly):

Also to Sol de lune for winning the WWFM GC for his "stunning" outfit - I know I was stunned when I saw him!
Thank you to our interstate visitors for making the effort to come too. Plus our newer cachers - this time I think AussiePuschaks was the newest registered cacher - welcome. Also, there were 3 caching teams that had parties of 4 - The S's, BigON & Angel755. Next time I might have a special prize for the cacher that can bring along the most people - but you'll obviously need more than 4 to win this.
Lastly - thank you to my helpers for the day - BigON, Winglen, Big Matt & my young treat distributor (sorry, I'm not sure who you were??) - it sure made life a lot easier for me this time.
PS Today was my wedding anniversary, but my husband is over 16,000 kms away in the Meditteranean, so this was a great way to celebrate in his absence! And I just realised that tomorrow is my two year geocaching anniversary too!!

Good to see all the new cachers too and many of the older ones too, and glad to see just who are those people who have been getting around finding caches recently - just names before today. Yay for another flash mob. I think we had more people at this one than the last one. So many faces I didn't recognise.
It's also amusing that I don't think we were the only ones doing a flash mob. When I arrived, there was a big group near the german gun, singing Waltzing Matilda....
And the 15 minute event ended up turning into a three hour talkfest, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Thanks Tealby for organising another successful caching event!

Only 2 more sleeps... (now there are 34 people watching this listing, so I hope that translates into a really big attendance!!)
A couple of last minute reminders.
1. Don't forget to wear red (if at all possible). The WWFM GCs arrived & they look really flashy, so I hope that I can give one away to a worthy recipient. If anyone is really keen to purchase their own, then they are available again for a short time through coinsandpins.com.
2. Please BYO pen to assist with signing to log sheets as quickly as possible.
3. Make sure that you advise BigON of any trackables you plan to drop in to this event - don't leave it to the last minute because your emails go to his work address & he won't see them on Saturday!
4. Biggles303 won't be in attendance now (he is playing soccer in Cooma), so I will be looking for a young cacher to help me handing out the food treats. I will ask someone at the event.
5. I will again have my swag box for young cachers to help themselves - not swap necessary.
6. Lastly - I hope that a few new cachers come out of the woodwork for this event. Last year Sol de lune was the newest cacher in attendance. |

Hello everyone, I have been nominated to track the TB's and Coins for this event, to help facilitate this can anyone intending to bring trackables to the event please please send the tracking number to my email account below so that I can do up a master list of anticipated TB's and GC's. Unregistered items will of course be welcome on the day as well.
I will send a copy of the full list to anyone that requests it or preregisters. I'm hoping this will reduce the data input on the day (both paper and PC) and help prevent any trackables getting stuck on the site for ages. I will have two buckets/containers there, one for registered articles and another for unregistered, as the tracking numbers are recorded they will be moved to the registered where they can be collected after providing the track number and cacher name. Any not collected or registered at the event will of course be available at the post event get together or distributed around Canberra caches. That sounds like a system that might work but I welcome any comments or suggestions.
In addition I'm hoping to be able to set up a trackables stand nearby before the event, there will be a trackable sign up (RED?) for them to be dropped off and made ready for the event, Co-ords will follow.
Thanks
