Hi everyone, thanks again for all coming along and making the event such a success. Our event did get a mention on a podcast, check out this link http://www.podcacher.com/?p=532.
Thanks to Radionut, Butterfly Lady, Rumo and Rala for such a great video. Well done guys a very professional bit of work.
Can anyone that picked up a TB from the event, please make sure you have logged it out of the event. I will then get the event archived.
Thanks again for coming....Gary and Margaret

Hi again everybody.
Finally, after...
- having to find out that the borrowed video camera did not record properly,
- getting supplied with video footage by Radionut50 (thanks again - you made our day)
- struggling with the file format of his video camera
- fighting with a constantly crashing Windows MovieMaker
- (de)installing countless codecs,
...it is done:

Those who were there: Enjoy and remember
Those who weren't: Enjoy and be there next time
And sorry, if we forgot someone in the credits. |

Wow, what a cool and fun event. It was so great to see everybody gather and to behave muggle-like until - "bang" - the "cytoplasm" was surrounded by red and yellow weirdos who - for some unobvious reason - kept clapping, pointing and chatting. And another "bang" and the spooky thing was over. Cool. Thanks to Gary and Margaret for organising this event. And good to see all you guys. Always great to catch up.

Did many of you participants see the "real" vest wearer's (from the garbage truck) face as the group broke up. He looked as if he so desperately didn't want to be associated with all those nutters.
Note: I have posted a photo you can look at with out donning dark glasses (Hah Hah!) |

Once upon a quiet Saturday morning somewhere near the pirate ship Esther, all was well. Dogs were walked, sightseers took photos, a lady reclined on a bench seat chatting on her cell phone, a mother fed her baby, a photographer took photos, a group of scouts investigated the docks.....
When suddenly from nowhere a Kiwi arrived and donned on a BRIGHT vest.... a moment later all one could see was an ocean of vivid orange and lemons.... as strange beings gathered around the revolving artwork. Applause burst forth and they pointed at that thing.
Blink - where have they all gone... seems to be an elusion, or was it?
Thanks KiwiGary & co. This was great fun, being part of the first in the world for the WWFMIII event. Poor coffee house staff afterwards, when asked if normally this busy on a Saturday morning, replied "no, they had no idea where they all came from".... if only they knew. |

10:00 Wow what a great turnout, and we thought we were the only mad ones around these parts
Congratulations to everyone that came along and made this such a special event, without you guys this wouldn't have worked at all.
Congrats to the three Raffle winners, YeoGeo4, Seattle's Best and itisme93 and thanks again to Kathy and Andy (http://geocaching-zone.co.nz) for supplying some of the raffle prizes.
We were amazed by the turnout on a day that did look like rain; we were expecting around twenty when we planned this event a couple of months back. But the final count was Eighty-Six people ; the event was probably the first WWFM III event in the world and the first for New Zealand. It will be interesting to read the logs of the other 166 WWFM events that happened today and are due to start tomorrow.
Great to see some new people and some old hands at the game come along and admire the great artwork on the waterfront, it was great that everyone joined in and wore a HiViz jacket and had some fun. We even spotted one dog and a small Teddy Bear with HiViz jackets
In the sport of Geocaching we are always trying to blend into the background and not be noticed, but today we turned the tables and stood out. It was also great to outnumber the muggles for a brief period of time . I would be interested to hear what the muggles thought we were doing?
It was hectic trying to fit everything into fifteen minutes, so thanks to everyone that helped hand out the event meals and the log sheets. Thanks also to everyone that took photos, we look forward to seeing more as people log the event.
Also big thanks to Sonny and Sandy "iTrax and FoxTail" in San Diego for coming up this idea and arranging the events world wide, keep on caching guys.
It was great to catch up with most of the people at the after event coffee as well, everyone was asking about the next WWFM event. We will have to get our thinking caps on. |

10:00 Very cool Well worth the 480km round trip! 2nd time in a week actually! It was great to catch up with the Auckland crowd again - everyone is sooo friendly up here. Wish I'd been able to say Hi to eveyone but got tied up with coins & food and coffee and dogs! Yes, 'The Boss & I' attended - thanks TT for the loan of the hi-viz jacket for him.
Reckon we could 'spread the word' next year around NZ!

Great Event - and not a flash in the pan!! The warm atmosphere and friendly Auckland Geocachers made the day. I caught up with a lot of friendly names, now if only I can remember them all but I won't forget the faces!! A long trip and an afternoon spent North of the city and not a cache in sight, Oops we forgot to load the caches into cachemate and our GPS'rs. This trip was all about visiting new and old friends :-) Now if only I lived North of the city, I know just the spot for a great cache placement ;-)

WOW thanks so much for the fun KiwiGary and all organisers and attendees. Special thanks to Glynn for tech tips on getting my reluctant GPS to find some sats after waiting 15 mins....... ooh er red face, gps dont like being shut in a drawer for months/years .. they sulk :-) Steamed in on the manual cycle while XC thundered in aboard Splat... without working GPS TK cunningly followed the roar of Splats Neptune tailpipe.
