What a great event, well organised, don't have anything to reference it too, but we had a blast, got the FTF for turning up way too early, and then were stunned to find by collecting 5 of those silver cuts outs we topped the list and took home first prize for the day. Was great to put the faces to the team names and pick up some more hints and tips for this interesting past time. Thanks to everyone involved in the organising of the event and to the Local generous sponsors. Will deffinately do it again.

For anybody that's looking for it (all of you!!) - the River Deep to Mountain High competition - http://www.cachinggames.com
Thanks to the Eudunda Post Office and all the local sponsors!
12th
Well, though I didn't attend the event proper, TeamAstro was there in spirit. What a huge effort for all those involved in setting up the event. No way could this all be done on a small motor bike [:p].
clear skies from TeamAstro.
12th
I did not have interaction with that moose....
Sorry, entered it as a retrieve instead of a discover by mistake.... putting it back into the Valley event.
12th
PG actually did attend this Event - she forgot and only wrote a note ! I guess I'm allowed to log it as a find [?]
12th

Just wanted to write a separate note to thank and recognise Team Asrto's MAGNIFICENT bonfire! For us this was our chance to meet everyone as sport had us arriving only just in the nick of time for the event cache! So this is where we really put names to faces and got to meet people! What a fantastic night/atmosphere!!![^][^][^][^][^]
We would love to come to another of these!!!!!! Even camp the night!! [|)][|)][|)]
Thanks again
The Silver Snitch!
12th
Thanks Postie girl, Matmob, Marbar and CJ Postie we had a wonderful time. This was our first Event Cache and it mmost certainly won't be our last! Thumbs up from all.[^][^][^]
Loved the disks! What a great way to level peg it so beginners and experts were really in the race together!
The kids' activity was a hit. Thanks for saving some of those caches for our little latecomers!
Thanks to the local community for the beaut prizes of which we won one!
We will be back to the valley with fellow geo-cachers in tow to do the permanent ones!
(What is the story behind The Tinkers House?[?][?][?]......our story is that we had to tinker with our car wheel and thought our caching was up, but happily no!)

What a great day this turned out to be. The postal service certainly delivered near perfect weather! It was great to see some of the lovely countryside surrounding the town, especially as it is greening up now.
Well done to the teams who did such a great job of organising the event. Thanks to Team Astro for the bonny afterwards - it provided a fitting end to the day.
Managed to find a hidden treasure - well hidden. In searching for the prizes in the kids activity, the kids managed to find 3 caches hidden in the park. 3? That's a bit strange, there is only supposed to be 2 here. Turns out that one of them was one of the Centenary of Federation caches that had gone missing more than two years ago! Can we claim 2 finds for that one now? And after 2+ years the contents were still perfectly dry!
12th
Thanks from DISK for a great day, full of friendly faces, good conversation, lots of tips and fun activities for us all.
We are finally able to put faces to the names we see on the logs !!!
Fantastic work from Postiegirl, Matmob, Mabar and Cjpostie - our first event cache will remain memorable for a long time to come.
12th
Congratulations and Thanks to everyone (especially the 5374 Post Office Mob) for a great day! Also our tireless navigator "Mrs S" (Stanleys), who can now use 2 gpsr's simultaneously!!!! (Let us know when you are back!) Thanks too to TeamAstro for a great Bonfire. From CamperVanWannaBe's.
12th
I think we were there, can't remember!
12th
Being my first time, I was really nervous about meeting lots of new people and although the Wackys had described the game to me I still didn't fully understand. You really need to participate to really understand the game and I had a ball and everyone I meet was really friendly, and the Bonny just topped the day off. Thankyou it was great.
12th
Thank you so very much guys for a wonderful day - the amount of organisation required to make it such a fantastic event was really appreciated by all in the Wacky mobile, even the miniature brat boy commented on your 'phenomenal effort' - as a bonus, it was great to finally put faces to some familiar names, and the Astro-nomincal bonfire made a spectacular finish to the day - hope to catch up with you all again soon
(PS sorry about the late log, unfortunately life got in the way of geocaching)
12th
Thanks to all that have planned this wonderful Event.
I got to meet lots of new faces, this game is really getting bigger every year.
It was only last October or November these locals started geocaching and already have put over 80 or more caches in the area.
I'll have to come back another day to find all the other caches
Cheers from Skippy&Lambchops

I feel really humbled by all the thanks that people are involving me in. I only got the token idea off the ground due to the technology at my disposal. Apart from that, the ladies did all the work. By the way Trev, it will be a few more weeks before our ears return to normal. Sgt Doug and I had a fun time out on the road but I guess all the empty containers that we found began to dampen our spirits. It was a great chance to meet up with all the cachers that I hear mentioned by name but have no idea who they are in person. To the Silver Snitch crew .... Love the glasses. Wished I could have made it to the Bon Fire (read the others logs) but a prior appointment in Mt Barker prevented me from that. Turns out the bonfire may have been a wiser choice. Cheers to you all and good to hear everyone had a great time.
12th
Wow... what a cool day. Great to finally put some names to faces. It was good to be able to get a stack of caches done as well... even though Winterdragon and i came dead last!
Thanks to Postie Girl 06, Matmob, Mabar and DJPostie. It was great to meet you all and i hope to see you all down here for the SECS CCC event.
The little memento was really great too.
Thanks again.

Apart from precipitating divorce proceedings, based on navigation issues, it was a great day!(jk)
Thanks Postie girl, matmob, marbar and CJ Postie, you did good! All the elements were there. Good location, involvement for the kids, small and big, and perfect weather. Our main mission was to put faces to names, not only for us but our children, DKW_Hutch and Watchman -SA. Hence we took several photos, however we don't intend to post them, they are for family use only.
Congratulations to the organisers and "Thankyou" to the local business community for their support.

We will be placing about 20 temporary caches around the district, along with the kids caching activity that will be held first in the gardens.
Some of the game caches are situated near GC sites,so you will be able to grab some of those along the way if you wish.We have also made booklets containing the GC listed caches for our area that are on display.
Game Cache notes and rules will be given out on the day.
First Prize looks a treat so you should have an added incentive to head to 'The Valley of Hidden Treasures'

Madre de dios! el golco was a month early visiting the valley today . Nevertheless we had a great round trip from Tanunda to Burra and back: beautiful weather, interesting villages, countryside that reminded us of Spain and seven caches logged Doesn't get much better than this.
Happy eventing. I'll keep a watch on it from Hobart

hmm its tempting to spend the weekend up there camping and doing a few caches, since i havent been up there since CCC.
There seem to be a few caches around that are accessable by a lowered lancer, so ill have a think about it
Though the 10 man tent might be overkill this time, though those that witnessed the erection (of the tent) at the CCC did have fun
Will see how things pan out, and now doubt there will be many more caches placed in the area between now and then to tempt me even more
