This is a great spot to come and sit by the jetty and watch the Pelicans play.

THE REHABILITATION OF A LANDFILL SITE

Ascot Island is a 28–hectare area of Swan River foreshore that has been created as an island

by its excision from adjacent land by the provision of an artificially created channel.

The channel was created as part of the redevelopment of the 97–hectare former Bristile

site for housing during the 1990’s. The site was rezoned for premium small lot housing,

complete with a marina, and was developed using water sensitive urban design principles

and the provision of 75% public open space.

A Unique river island that is full of paths and trails for walking and cycling, popular for dog walking and fishing and kayaking.

Plenty of parking, lots to explore...another favourite walking place for Geo-dog.

A secret mostly only locals know about, once you know you will be back.

Another quick find here. The rock it was next to has been pushed down the hill slightly so the cache was wedged under it. A bit of digging had it out. TFTC.

The cache was well hidden, at one stage I thought it might have been washed away in the recent rains, but came up with the goods at the end of the day. I thought another geocacher was coming down the path as I was signing the log but it was just a muggle looking intently at their phone. Thanks for the cache.

No sooner had I retrieved the cache than two muggles sat down beside me, 10 minutes later they departed letting me replace the cache Very Happy

I saw this cache launched last night but didn't have the opportunity to get down to look for it. I got out early this morning to have a look for this and a few other new GA caches nearby. I didn't even need to get the gps out for this one knowing the location was previous visits. An easy find at the final location. TFTC.
