Description

Thought about heading to one of those Mega Events but the idea of so many people in the same place scared you ?  Well, is this the event for you.  Basil's patented Event for Introverts gives you the opportunity to attend an event and with a bit of luck, you might not run into anyone.

The coordinates are for the event table, located in front of the Hangetsu Yoga studio located at 77 Kent St, Deakin.  There is off-street parking available if you enter via the driveway to 75 Kent St (we have an arrangement with the neighbours).  Please do not park on Kent St itself.

The Event runs from 10:00  until 17:00 on FRIDAY, 28 June 2013 giving you plenty of reasons to come up with an excuse for not attending. If you like, you can sign the logbook and can leave straight away. The more unbelievable the excuse for not showing up, the better.

If the Host is nowhere to be seen (or seen peeking through the window), it could be he had an urgent "thing" to attend to.  Please write in your on-line log if you managed to avoid all contact with other cachers.  Like to see lots of "Will Attend" posts.

I think the time has come for this great event to be laid to rest...

28-Jun-13
I left it till later in the event lifespan to avoid the rush of cachers flocking to the site.

A great idea and a nice event.

Thanks Agent Basil.

28-Jun-13
Oh man, I totally messed that up. Instead of avoiding all attendees, I managed to meet three of them instead. Nice to meet you Agent Basil, Cankid, and mcktcj! Then across the road to EQ for a quick beer with some work colleagues - counts as an introversion fail I'm afraid...

Thanks Agent Basil, great idea for an event! Dancing

#GA34 - Must have missed wing6rider by mere seconds, having just logged Shooting for the stars!(GA2081) a w6r cache not too long before stopping here. Found myself driving past to pick up the geowife from a workplace just up the road and decided I couldn't be bothered driving on past, so stopped and took part in the event instead, struggling against the apathy. Met a young toyhunter and his Mum too and took the chance to log a few moveables which were on display. Pity In hadn't thought to bring one along to add to the menagerie Neutral TFTE a grand idea AB Shhhhhhh

Managed to sneak in before the clock stuck 5. Met Winterdragon and Cankid on the way in. Nice to meet you both! Very Happy Then I tip-toed quietly up to the table and began the logging duties, only to have Mr Winglen walk in, followed by Mrs Winglen a few minutes later with the token thermos of coffee. Really enjoyed meeting you both and finally putting faces to your names and logs and chatting for awhile. Very extroverted of us! Enjoyed FINALLY meeting the host, Agent Basil and his beautiful wife too. Wish I could have stayed longer and continued the chat and tour (?) with you all but I needed to retreat home and feed and water the teenager. Thanks AB for a fun way to end a crazy week and for taking me out of my introverted comfort zone and meeting more people. Very Happy

28-Jun-13
Well, that almost worked well. Despite my best intentions, I still managed to run into a number of attendees (not counting those who knocked on the door Very Happy ). Maybe next time, I should keep the coords a secret ???? Lucky the weather held off ehh?

28-Jun-13
Aha!
Not only did I break the "don't park on Kent street" rule (...oops), I managed to be unseen, and scored a PT!

Next time, there should be a webcam or something, I'm sure it would of been hilarious to watch people run up to sign, then sneak off!

28-Jun-13
I was on babysitting duties today and didnt have much time after finishing work and sitting. I got to the table only having about 5 minutes, so didnt sign any of the moveables. I managed to sign the log and get away without being seen. Thanks AB for an usual event TFTC

Do I get a 'First to not attend' award or am I too late?
I meant to go along to this one, but then work got busier, and the phone rang, and one of my several bosses emailed me demanding answers, then I had to speak to some customers, and then lunch took longer than I expected, then it looked like it was going to rain, then the phone rang again. By then it was too late. Sad But I had every intention of going.

It was a near thing - everyone else leaving the office a bit early on a Friday afternoon but still I couldn't get away Shocked I made it just in time to grab a few minutes with AB and mcktcj, and to enjoy a cuppa from the thermos with Mr Winglen . Thanks for the fun AB. And as you said, we really let ourselves go and stood around talking like extroverts.

28-Jun-13
Well, I think that I may not be very good at the game of being a ninja. Met 3 people! Nice event, logged some GCAs. TFTE Agent Basil, maybe another one soon!

Balderdash and other such cuss words. FFP's father was going to be my cover to attend but it was more serious than expected and instead of heading south it was to Calvary and stick around just in case I'm needed.

Nah, that'll never win the best excuse for not attending....

I was walking out the door to head off when I saw a distraught red haired female wandering around the streets. I thought it best to see if I could help her and so I took her to the cafe for a cuppa and a she consoled herself with a bit of a knit. It seems she was on the way to an event but couldn't find the way. Well her actual words were more about losing her party.....

I managed to slip in, sign the log and be away in complete solitude!

Thanks AB, excellent!

WOW! What a good idea for an event. As a (semi)introverts, this was a perfect event for me. I had just finished school at the nearby high school, so it was a quick drive here on the way back home. Didn't use co-ords as I thought that I would find the house easily with a slight memory of the house number. Had a little trouble finding the right one, but someone was spotted from the road bending down to what looked like a table with a logbook on it. Parked in front of the house and walked over and it certainly was a caching event. Once there, I met LuckyL10n there. Very nice to meet you, great to have such a lovely chat with you. Hope we cross paths again one day. He had already started signing the moveables, so we worked together to get most of them signed. Once TB codes were exchanged, he was off. Did the rest of the honours and then became the first person to sign the logbook in the little container. Took PT. TFTE AB. Loved the idea for this and hope to see a couple more of these. Cheers...

Took an early minute off from work, rode here from Woden, rode up the drive - ambushed! AB just came out the door at 2:48pm. Went and signed the log and found the trackables. A fun idea, Thanks AB. Then a pleasant 20km ride home.

28-Jun-13
got here just before noon, and a blank log sheet , am I *FTF* not entirey sure as I managed to avoid seeing anyone, but on the minus side , I can prove that I was First but got in/out with out anyone knowing.. apart from signing the log book.
not sure if I should have signed the other log book too..

28-Jun-13
Arrived just as the host(??) and his wife were going out for a walk, so yep, got sprung. A very quick chat and they were off.

Number 3 in the log book, so there have been others who braved it.

(Left a few moveables for others to sign.....and the host will relocate them over the weekend).

Thanks AB for a rather different event.

28-Jun-13
Work increasingly depressing. All motivation sapped.

28-Jun-13
Hmm, well, things are getting a bit busy at work today and the weather's not looking so good. Added to that is the fact that my knee is a bit sore from last weekend's walk, and I need fuel for the car and it's not pay-day for a couple more weeks. I'll see if I can make it

28-Jun-13
Should be there for about 5 minutes. Got a lift but cant stay for long. I will be running up signing the log and going.

28-Jun-13
Schedule plotted for today. Managed to squeeze in a window between morning tea and lunch! Should be a quiet time!?

27-Jun-13
I'll withdraw my intention to attend. I'd only travel via Nerriga & the way the weather has been best not to push my luck. Oallen Ford was listed as closed today at 11:30 & the road to Braidwood is/was flood affected plus is c*&p at the best of times.

27-Jun-13
We might get there just before closing. Could even bring our thermos!

27-Jun-13
Looming large now. Not sure if I can cope with crowds Think

21-Jun-13
Should be able to come later in the event. See you there (or not)

21-Jun-13
I do have another "commitment" that runs from 12 until 2: so any antendees who do the lunch time visit will "miss" me Very Happy

20-Jun-13
If I remember. If I do make it I guess a book exchange could also occur?

You know, if the EO is around...

05-Jun-13
Will attend in the middle of the timeframe. Such a good idea AB, love it!

05-Jun-13
I saw this yesterday & have been mulling over whether to attend. I've only been to Canberra twice & one was by mistake having travelled up from Cann River before realising my error. Don't like big cities. Don't like round a bouts either & there is a doosy on the way by the looks of it. Also concerned about this business of not being able to park on Kent St. It looks bigger than the lane way & have trouble reverse parking my 4WD. I like horses though & if I do get the courage to attend, will probably visit the veterinary hospital across the road. If I don't turn up check there. Knowing me I probably wont attend but at least I thought I would.

05-Jun-13
Bronnie is coming in her PJs

05-Jun-13
umm ok sure,
I'm also attending an apathy event but probably won't be bothered, so might as well give this one ago instead.. I'm a Gnome, duh!DohRibbit

05-Jun-13
The least I could do ......... or is it ?????

05-Jun-13
Excellent timing, I have the day off on the 21st which would make it hard to find an excuse for not attending. However, the 28th is a work day so that should throw up suitable obstacles to meeting any other cacher!

05-Jun-13
Challenge accepted.

(I have a pj day at work, so that is my excuse if i chicken out)

04-Jun-13
Noted that I might attend although could be interstate that day visiting people in order not to be seen attending until at least 17o'clock.

04-Jun-13
I'll try to get there, I mean, should probably be able to make it. I think.

04-Jun-13
I'll be there! I'll drift in without anyone noticing. Now where's my Introverts Unite t-shirt.... Smile

04-Jun-13
Sounds crazy but I love it! Hope not to see you all there haha

04-Jun-13
Shhhhhhh
