Recently I read a post on one of the social media groups lamenting the fact that almost all recent GC CITO events were held in rural areas.
None in the Greater Melbourne Metropolitan area.
I suggested the easy way to fix this was to stand up and organise their own, in an area that suited them.
Leading by example always seems to be the best course of action, so I have hosted four Clean up the beach events on consecutive Sundays, this month.
It's really not that hard.
So... then I thought... maybe I should clean up my act too... Starting with my emails and then my caching bags... I discovered something interesting...
A moveable cache... and when I opened it up... two more moveable caches, nestled safely inside.
My sincere apologies to the respective COs, other players and the game in general.
Situation rectified.
Cache on!
After finding a well known piglet nearby, I went for a stroll. Well, it's not all formed paths but it is a wonderful area to explore. Perhaps it is the real 100 acre wood.
Bees in trees, birds galore, a goanna quickly taking cover in a hollow log. Creeks crossed, flowers admired, photos taken.
Cache hidden, waypoint averaged, logged online, coordinates updated. Sadly the front end is still in dire need of a wheel alignment...
Thanks for the adventure Chwiliwr

Reading previous logs, this moveable may still be in location OR may have been found, removed and not relocated yet. We know moveables can sometimes be forgotten / missed / left in the bottom of a caching bag, so a check has been undertaken on this one.

Headed down to Melbourne for the Meet the Moveables event at Brimbank Park, where this moveable, along with about 120 other were found. A good turn out at the event and everyone seem to have a lot fun talking about all things caching while finding the moveables and getting a start on the Journey or Destination summer game. A good couple of hours were spent in the area before witching hour rolled around and it was time to head back up the highway towards home. T'was an uneventful trip and with the number of moveable on offer, was certainly worth the drive.
Thanks for the moveable.....

Found it, logged it, and noticed it had front axle problems, but it is now in the hands of n0w0rries- enough said, I reckon he will look after it for you no worries about that.

Bingo! I have found your geocache at the Meet The Movables event in Brimbank Park today.
I have taken it home and will endeavour to fix the front axle back in, before sending it back out into the wilds of SE Melbourne.
thanks for the cache Chwiliwr.
Coordinates will be updated shortly...

A quick pickup of moveables today for a secret meeting to take place in just a little while. Your geocache would like to join the secret activities so it may not move for a little while but it will be safe and sound and will be moved along (and hopefully logged quite a bit) in the not too distant future.
Took nothing, left nothing.

A muster of old moveables in Canberra was called for, so a heap were collected and they have now made their home in and around Melbourne......hope they enjoy their new surroundings.
I was happy to see this moveable cache in the hands of another cache before it and many others head south.
Thanks

Dropped off with some fellow moveables
What a day of GCA hunting for us. I think we ended up finding 11 GCA moveables and hid two that had been in our possession. My kids really love the thrill of finding GCAs and then finding a new spot to move them on. A big thanks to Dezzabils for bringing some new GCAs back to South Australia.

Attended the very enjoyable GCA Moveable & Mystery Madness event (GA10647) in Whiteman Park today with Chwiliwr and Gwawr. We found this cache with all the other moveable caches that were brought to the event by the various GCA cachers in attendence. There were also a couple found not actually at the event.

Discovered 'Innor - 51' at the Moveable & Mystery Madness Event held in Whiteman Park. The forecast was for rain but we were blessed with good weather for the day. A small but dedicated group of geocachers and a couple of new faces attended and exchanged stories of caches found and missed. Many thanks Chwiliwr for the cache.

Planning for this trip began in June - we knew we would be heading to Adelaide but which way would we go? This depended on our targets. We looked at our list of unclaimed Dragon Zone trophies and picked out several that we could feasibly collect the required number of finds to qualify for the trophy. We then had to identify caches that would meet our targets and from here it was time to plan a route that would take us past the caches we had identified. Any caches too far off our route were discarded and replaced by suitable alternatives.
All was running smoothly until the Christmas in July game was announced. We would be travelling in the latter part of the game. It was difficult to include this in our target caches as we did not know what was required. Once the game began and we understood what we needed to do we could then add other caches to the target list.
We were just getting our heads, yes all four of them, around this when more Dragon Zone trophies were added. Which ones could we meet and which should we ignore? Do we need to add more GA caches and/or do we need to change our route and our targets? We decided on our target list and then our route and timeline. We had just drawn a line under everything and were about to begin printing our caching booklets, route maps and target lists when caught@work published 23 new caches on the Western Ring Path. Earlier we had decided on the caches in the Edgewater Walk series. If we added the new ones on the Western Ring Path and as many of the CCC series as possible, we could probably reach the required number of caches to qualify for the Dragon Zone trophies “Restraining Order Stalker” (Find 100 DZ caches hidden by the same cacher) and “Obsession!=Insanity” (find 50 DZ caches in a day). As the latter would give us our first Blaze Trophy, it was decided to alter everything to include the CCC series.Four Fun, in South Australia published five puzzle caches that would bring good points in the Christmas in July game. Can we solve the puzzles? A few more adjustments to the route and the caches to find list and we would be off.
Having successfully completed our Melbourne challenges and gained our first Blaze Dragon Zone trophy it was time to focus on the Christmas in July game. We started on the Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park puzzle caches recently published by Four-Fun. With Four-Fun's puzzles found, several of J_&_J's puzzles found and the Christmas in July game over it was time to focus on completing the requirements for a few more Dragon Zone Trophies.
When we knew that there was a possibility that we would have a break from grand parent duties we had planned this slight detour so that we could find both GA and GC caches that would meet the requirements for several Dragon Zone trophies and several GC challenge caches in several states. As we had already visited all states and territories except Western Australia this year it was time for us to hop on a plane and head for Perth, Western Australia.
When we were at home we had noticed that Lazarus68 had been collecting moveable caches during a recent visit to the eastern states. We wondered if Lazarus would be back in the west by the time we visited and if we would have an opportunity to find the moveables that were in his care. So, we contacted Lazarus and the stars did align. We made arrangements to visit and we were able to log finds on quite a few moveable caches. Many thanks Lazarus68 for making these caches available for our visit. In turn, we left another ten moveables in the area which are also now in the care of Lazarus68.

Moved into a hidey place for next finder.
This cache is now hidden at Port Noarlunga, enjoying the sea air.
After failing to find three other moving caches today, it was nice to actually find one in place.
We'll take this one back home for a week or so, and move to somewhere new soon.
Thanks Chwiliwr.

Unfortunately a number of moveable caches were lost when the GPS that held their location failed before they were moved in the online system.
All have been revisited now and the coordinates for them obtained so they can be moved back into circulation.

I have had this traveler with me for a while now.
It has been to Alice Springs and back with me, smoothing the corrugations as I went
Time to say good bye in a spot where another GCA aware traveler should be along soon.

As soon as I'd picked these caches up I dropped them off in another familiar location on the way home. I'm sure they won't hang around here too long. Safe travels!
I had been hoping that these caches would make their way north, and when I saw them pop up at a familiar location I cut short my caching along the coast and made a quick dash up here to grab them.
I was happy to find them still in their location and whisked them away. I'll drop them off in a new spot very soon, thanks for the cache Chwiliwr.

Didn't particularly feel like walking through the long grass in my work clothes - I've already been picking out the grass seeds and sticks from the low grass I'd been through.
