Description
WanderingAus' Wandering Shanks Pony AB is an entrant in the 'Bingo' moving cache race for 2012/2013. This is an 11cm x 9cm laminated magnetic card, easy to hide. It carries the GA code, the name, and the QR Code for those Smarty Pants Cachers Smart Phone Cachers.
Shanks Pony is the most common method of movement of the Infantry Soldier, and coincidentally also of the Geocacher (and Rogainer, Orienteerer, Mountain Climber etc).
WanderingAus was first issued with a pair of Boots AB (ammunition boots) in August 1968 when I marched into 1 RTB Kapooka for Recruit Training. They were the primary means of transport for WanderingAus for the following 10 weeks at Kapooka, and a further 10 weeks of Infantry Initial Employment Training at Infantry Centre Ingleburn. Happily on march in to the mighty Seventh Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, I was issued with Boots GP (Boots General Purpose).
If you can abide by the rules below please help to keep my boots moving in the race by picking it up and moving it on.
•Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
•Only moves count towards your bingo card and you must move the cache at least 1km to count as a valid move
•There is no limit to the distance cachers can move the cache
•Cachers in the game are requested to move it on within 2 days
