The grass is so long that I could not initially see the log. When I did find a log, I dug through the grass, but still couldn't find the cache. DNF.

Hidden on a scenic drive

A three day trip to the North West Coast of Tasmania

Travel:
Started at Huonville through the Lakes Highway on the central Plateau to Deloraine and out to Sisters Beach; back to Somerset for the night. Various places visited through the next day finding caches, mainly in the Penguin area and back to Goat Island Reserve for the night.
Day three, I was caching around Ulverstone and then back to Huonville.
Total kilometres travelled was 1006 kilometres
Found 16 caches during day 1, 26 on day two and 12 on day three – total 54 found and two DNFs.

Walking:
Over the three days, I took 32664 steps burning 5791 calories to cover a distance of 25.51 kilometres in finding the 54 caches.

Somehow we ended up with a hoard of moveable caches in the boot of the cachemobile. Over the last couple of days we've been gradually rehiding them around the countryside and today we've managed to get the last of them out in the Trevallyn Reserve

Handed to Tassie Trekkers

We headed out for a day of caching with Tassie Trekkers and targeted Ulverstone and surrounds and this was a moveable Mrs W located while finding other caches nearby. Will move on soon

We are currently doing a virtual trophy for verbosity, hence the long logs! We are enjoying participating in the States of the Nation games which are currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018.

States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.

There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.

Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Heading South to Victoria we collected a couple of moveables on the way and this was one of them.

Certainly a lot colder and wetter than where we have been and our first day in South Australia had us dodging the rain to retrieve this moveable.

With the Christmas in July games over we are now concentrating on achieving some Dragon Zone trophies - so this moveable will be in for a big move.

With geovan in tow we managed to manoeuvre our way to the top of Mount Barker to make a quick find - thanks to acccurate co ordinates.

We'd rescued this log from an archived GC cache almost 12 months ago. We attempted to contact the CO but got no response. The container dropped to the bottom of the caching bag where it remained forgotten until we cleaned out the bag for our current trip.

As the log has become separated for the transporter we have placed it in a micro sized purple container so that it can resume its travels in SA.

After finding Gnarly Dude close by we thought that we would have a look for the 2 close by. We quickly located a 1 litre sistema in leaf litter under a tree. Inside we found a plastic bag containing the log sheet for Canberra Airport Transporter No 2, another log book with no cache identificationand a few swapable items. This cache was listed as a micro so we are not sure what the log was attached to.
We would be happy to put the log into a small container so that this cache can continue to circulate if that is OK with the CO

Grabbed and will be off to Geelong for the weekend. Still in pretty good nick but I have chanaged the rubber band

Finally got to drop this long lost moveable off with a few friends. Should not be long before they are moved on.

It has been over 12 months since I dropped off this moveable with a number of friends, a few people have tried and failed to locate so while I know it is not really the done thing I have decided to visit again to rescue them. It was an easy find for me and I will drop off again soon.

went looking for this one and all its buddies with no luck. will have another look but i would have thought 5 caches would have stood out
