Periodically the Geocaching Australia review team checks moveable caches that haven’t been found or moved in over 90 days.

This moveable fits that brief, however reading previous logs the cache could still be at the posted co-ords, just sitting there waiting for the next finder to give it a go.

So, if you’re in area why not stop by and maybe help it on its way.

All ok here. Safe and sound. Thanks

Discovered 'Wheelie? Are you sure FelixII?' at the Moveable & Mystery Madness Event held in Whiteman Park. The forecast was for rain but we were blessed with good weather for the day. A small but dedicated group of geocachers and a couple of new faces attended and exchanged stories of caches found and missed. Many thanks FelixII for the cache.

Planning for this trip began in June - we knew we would be heading to Adelaide but which way would we go? This depended on our targets. We looked at our list of unclaimed Dragon Zone trophies and picked out several that we could feasibly collect the required number of finds to qualify for the trophy. We then had to identify caches that would meet our targets and from here it was time to plan a route that would take us past the caches we had identified. Any caches too far off our route were discarded and replaced by suitable alternatives.

All was running smoothly until the Christmas in July game was announced. We would be travelling in the latter part of the game. It was difficult to include this in our target caches as we did not know what was required. Once the game began and we understood what we needed to do we could then add other caches to the target list.

We were just getting our heads, yes all four of them, around this when more Dragon Zone trophies were added. Which ones could we meet and which should we ignore? Do we need to add more GA caches and/or do we need to change our route and our targets? We decided on our target list and then our route and timeline. We had just drawn a line under everything and were about to begin printing our caching booklets, route maps and target lists when caught@work published 23 new caches on the Western Ring Path. Earlier we had decided on the caches in the Edgewater Walk series. If we added the new ones on the Western Ring Path and as many of the CCC series as possible, we could probably reach the required number of caches to qualify for the Dragon Zone trophies “Restraining Order Stalker” (Find 100 DZ caches hidden by the same cacher) and “Obsession!=Insanity” (find 50 DZ caches in a day). As the latter would give us our first Blaze Trophy, it was decided to alter everything to include the CCC series.Four Fun, in South Australia published five puzzle caches that would bring good points in the Christmas in July game. Can we solve the puzzles? A few more adjustments to the route and the caches to find list and we would be off.

Having successfully completed our Melbourne challenges and gained our first Blaze Dragon Zone trophy it was time to focus on the Christmas in July game. We started on the Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park puzzle caches recently published by Four-Fun. With Four-Fun's puzzles found, several of J_&_J's puzzles found and the Christmas in July game over it was time to focus on completing the requirements for a few more Dragon Zone Trophies.

When we knew that there was a possibility that we would have a break from grand parent duties we had planned this slight detour so that we could find both GA and GC caches that would meet the requirements for several Dragon Zone trophies and several GC challenge caches in several states. As we had already visited all states and territories except Western Australia this year it was time for us to hop on a plane and head for Perth, Western Australia.

When we were at home we had noticed that Lazarus68 had been collecting moveable caches during a recent visit to the eastern states. We wondered if Lazarus would be back in the west by the time we visited and if we would have an opportunity to find the moveables that were in his care. So, we contacted Lazarus and the stars did align. We made arrangements to visit and we were able to log finds on quite a few moveable caches. Many thanks Lazarus68 for making these caches available for our visit. In turn, we left another ten moveables in the area which are also now in the care of Lazarus68.

Very Happy I could say I found Wheelie, but in reality, it's probably a comme ci comme ca. It was pretty funny chasing movable gnomes I'm a Gnome, duh! , angels Don't Blink, frogs RibbitRibbit etc down the freeway only to catch them and be plucking them from their hide'y hole and bursting at the seams carrying Whistle these wiggly giggly thingys back to a box in your mobile and clutching onto them almost for dear life. The whole look is hilarious. An enormous Thank You Clapping to Just a Cacher and Black Bunny for finding Wheelie and dropping him off. Thank you FelixII for sharing Wheelie.

Out for an evening drive with Black Bunny, and came across a band of movables. Well, actually, they came across us, really. I think we were hijacked. They insisted that they be taken to the Capital of our country. I hope their intentions are honourable, but I didn't really feel up to arguing with them. One or two looked quite nasty.

Got a tip off that there was a party in town so came to join the fun, but the crew didn't like their overnight accommodation. Next thing i looked and they were trying to make off with my car, phew lucky i had the keys in hand. Following the guilt trip that they laid on me they've made a trip home for tea and a cosy bed. Will send them packing tomorrow.

Well this is a stroke of luck, mostly, the bin was spotted some distance away from the coords and a further search located the lid further away. Unfortunately nothing else was found so I will put in a replacement log book. Also one of the wheel has gone, the dowel axle snapped off at the body.
Obviously some muggle kids have had their fun with this one. However the main body/lid is fine, just need a bit of a clean.
the lid still locks to the body so should be fine..
The funny thing is that I have walked many times past that spot in the last 12 months but never noticed it. I guess I was not looking for a cache at those time so did not see anything.

Another long unloved moveable, I thought I would head in here today and see if I could find the thing. Unfortunately like my Parramatta Park experience a couple of weeks ago I had no luck. I did find a spot that matched the hint but couldn't come up with a cache of any description. Drat!

Another wheelie bin, same as my entry. Wheelie was found almost out at Boronia Point, hiding amongst the shrubbery . Wheelie is very happy in gnomeland so I left him there.

10-Jul-13
Dancing Wheelie has managed to escape from the depredations of the Federales and is still in place at home.

08-Jul-13
A bit of the a search to spot this one and after going up an down spied it hiding where we expected, found with SDL and Albida interesting location

08-Jul-13
Headed off with Albida and Mtrax for (another) visit to the Gnome Gnation to see a few new residents. Although word on the way established a few had already taken off for greener, yet colder, pastures, we continued with our plan and still managed to catch up with quite a few of the recent arrivals.

Our plan this time was not a mass round up, but that doesn't mean future trips wont include a complete clean out. Time, and re-enforcements, will dictate future retrieval missions.

Thanks for this one.....even though a little tricky to find in his 'cave'.

08-Jul-13
Blue Mountains GCA trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. We headed off to visit the Gnome Gnation area on Mt Piddington. We had some bad news on the way up that several had been retrieved yesterday, but we persisted and I managed to find 13 moveables, two GA Trads and two Trigs. The area up here is amazing. Dense bush opening out onto huge vistas and quite a bit of clambering to get to some as well. A great day, but now I have to chase a pile more locally. Thanks

Albida

Had been advised that a contingent of moveables were migrating east so set the alarm for 0544 so I could watch the transit of the second brightest object in the night sky. I have seen it on numerous occasions around sunset but never at sunrise. Once it passed I went back to bed so lost the advantage of avoiding the summer heat (forget Autumn, no such season). The migrants had settle in various locations, some with views, so not. This one with. I shall hide it somewhere soon. Thanks to fluffyfish for this boost to my stats. My Magellan performed admirably.
