Not exactly a truck stop, but it is by a main road where trucks travel. Plus, he was keen to stick with his nearby mate.

This little truck & load are in very good nick for their age. Travelling to Leeton for work for the week so checked out GCA for some caches along the way. Picked up this little fellow on my way through. Will move him along, hopefully to a truck stop. Thanks KK Very HappyClan Cerberus

I've had this moveable cache for about a week, so I decided to move it on before the rain comes. It should be easy enough to find but if you are having trouble I have added a hint.

P.S. I have replaced the zip-lock bag for this one.

What an amazing way to start my holidays from work. Geo-events, traveling, meeting up with friends and finding many different caches made it fun! Big Grin It’s so nice to finally be able to do all these things… again. The following descriptions are my adventures between the days of 12/11/21 and 16/11/21. Each cache has been logged to the end of my adventures for the day of finding them. If you would like to read my full log, please find it on any cache I found on the 16/11/21.
Day #1: I finished work at 4pm and headed over to Wagga for the only GIFF event in NSW. Apart from the CO, I was the first to arrive at the event. It was great to finally attend a Geocaching after many months without them. All talk Geo was had by all until we were told that dinner was ready. Soon after, the popcorn was ready and the movies were on. Congratulations to all the GIFF finalists and they were all a great watch. Also, Congratulations to BMG for receiving the FTF on the event. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head to Canberra for the next few days. Big Grin
Day #2: I was nearly late to my own event. O’well… It was still fun with the small group of us that turned up. We also discovered many Moveable caches before heading off to today’s main goal. This happened to be finding the ‘A’ part of the GA geo-art series as well as the lone GC caches around the area which I hadn’t found as I pasted by them. I wasn’t alone as AKM came for the walk as well. After finding all but the last two we headed our separate ways as it started raining heavier. Hopefully, it won’t be raining tomorrow so the event goes ahead but well will need to see. Also pizza for dinner tonight. Big Grin
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community enjoyment. Big Grin

Today was a day of events. Between the events I found a few caches to do in Yass and Goulburn. I also managed a Lab series in Goulburn as well. A fun day with lots of discussion and a bit of cleanup. A great day.

After the final event, I saw this as I was passing, so stopped in to sign the log. Left in place.

Thanks

This fine summer's evening attended geocaching australia event: The Moveables are Here!!, graciously hosted by Tassie Trekkers. Was fortunate to make it to the event as was not working and I only noted that it was going to be held on the previous evening - almost missed it. So many moveables in the one spot, roughly 150 in attendance. Nothing for it but to record a couple of notebook pages full of numbers. A very cute little truck found among others, parked up at Riverside.. thanks..!!

Found at the Snug moveable meet along with many other moveables. What a busy time I will have logging all these moveables. I found four moveables at Evandale and bought these along for the ride. Other people bought many more though! Everyone had a great time. Today’s event will help everyone in their position on the ladder for the summer game. The game is described below

TFTC
Stainless Steel Rat

The latest Geocaching Australia game runs from 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST

This new game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.

On your entry to the game you will be asked to create a playing field with a number of ground tiles. Your playing field is a grid 20 x 20 ground tiles making a total number of 400 possible steps you can take on your journey or destination. You choose whether you want to find and follow the path or whether you wanted to meander around. A playing field is unique to each player so there is no benefit in teaming up to beat the system through brute force.

For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath. There are a number of different ground tiles that will be revealed when you click on your playing field. It should be noted that there are no punishments for clicking a tile but there will not always be the reward you were hoping for as you reveal each tile

Dirt. The ground beneath the ground tile is just plain old brown dirt.

Dirt with some points. The ground beneath the tile is brown dirt but it has some points associated with it.

Concrete. The ground beneath is part of the pathway that will lead you on your way to your destination but has no point value.

Start. A concrete ground tile that has a blue map marker.

Destination. A ground tile that has a green map marker.

Meandering around and avoiding the path will accumulate points that will be used to place on you the ladder of wanderers. The more you stay off the path the higher the number of points you will accumulate and it will be your journey that will be the determining factor in whether you place into a prize winning position. You are free to select any ground tile to click on; they do not need to be next to each other.

Trying to find the path may mean you strike out on the dirt until you eventually come across the path and as a geocacher who can't say that this isn't a tried and true method. Once you find the path however will you try and follow the path as it changes direction around your playing field? Do you go North, South, East or West to try and find the next concrete tile along the path? If you head one way are you heading towards the start or towards the destination? When you do happen upon the destination tile then you will automatically be in a winning position.

At any point you are free to change from the journey to the destination and vice versa but you won't be able to regenerate your playing field. You are also free to keep playing as long as you have qualifying geocaches, accumulating more and more dirt tile points and placing you higher and higher on the ladder.

A moving cache, by nature, may have been moved since you last determined its location. It may have been picked up but not yet rehidden so it's considered 'in-transit'. There is no foolproof method of determining where a cache is simply by the log types that have been placed against the cache. In general the following applies:

A moved log with new co-ordinates indicates that the cache is in the new location ready to be found.
A found log with new co-ordinates indicates that the cache is in the new location ready to be found.
A found log with no new co-ordinates may indicate one of two situations:
The cache has been found and left in place.
The best way to determine this is to read the found log and hopefully the cacher who found the cache has indicated whether it is still in place.
The cache has been found and the cacher has taken it away to re-hide it.
The best was to determine this is to read the found log and hopefully the cacher who found the cache has indicated whether they have taken it away.
In essence, you will need to read the last log to determine whether the cache is in place or whether the cache has been moved. Remember that even though the logs indicate the cache may be at a certain location, it may have been picked up and moved only moments before you arrived. That's part of the challenge of a moving cache; you're never quite sure whether it's a DNF because you can't spot it or it's been moved along.

#GA2726 - 09:37; Day five of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a night in Ballina, the plan for today was to cache northward through Ballina to Byron Bay and then on to Kingscliff before turning south for home through Bangalow, Evans Head, New Italy, Yamba, Maclean and on to Kempsey for another overnight stay. After an early start, we hadn't gone far up the road when we saw evidence of a heavy shower not too long before we got there, so we seem to have dodged a bullet and got packed up with fairly dry gear. Following a successful run through to Cape Byron, we continued our journey along some interesting and at times rather rough roads before getting to the highway and on to Brunswick Heads. After our visit there, it was back down to the highway and on to Kingscliff so I could grab this testline (yes, another one!), which Sdl had picked up on a previous visit. I took detour from the testline to grab a GC cache and picked up a bag of moveables which were sitting nearby. I suspect they will find their way much further south in coming weeks! Looking at the GA cacher app showed four moveables located near each other over at Sisters Beach which is around 2.5 hrs return but the weather this morning was atrocious so delayed the trip until this afternoon. The younger of two geo pooches(Murder) was eager for the trip, while the older geo pooch(Sirius) thought it best to rest his ageing bones in front of the wood heater. At 16.5 y.o. I don't blame him but has earned the now easy life as he has climbed countless mountains geocaching with me over many years.Setting off the weather had cleared a little, but as we passed Burnie and headed past Boat Harbour the large cloud banks looked ominous again. Thankfully the rain stayed further inland and was fairly fine on approaching this second cache on the list. An easy and quick find thankfully. The cache is still all ok and ready to travel some more km's. The next fine day I will take it back towards southern Tasmania. Many thanks for the cache Rigger64...cheers ST

We had planned one caching trip to Hobart and the Eastern Shore during The Christmas in July game. The ground kept shifting as new Trophy challenges were added so we needed to add more GA caches to out to find list. Not only did we need cache finds for Christmas in July, we needed a cache for a Frigid Solstice, 10 GA Dragon Zone caches for the 12th for the find 25 caches on each day of the month as well as 13 moveables that we need to move between 250 and 500km and a cache in the Sorell council area, we had found caches in Sorell before Dragon Zone but needed one after April 2014. Of course there were also unfound GC caches in the areas we were going to visit. All this meant our to find list was quite long and we were unlikely to manage to knock them all off today. We also needed a day that the weather Bureau forecast predicted would be mainly fine. July 12 looked like it.

We usually leave home quite early however with the threat of ice on sections of the Bass and Midlands highways we decided to head off just before 7:00. We did have the added complication of dosing our daughter's cat with its antibiotic pill. It only took one person to administer a pill to our last cat however daughter's cat, that is smaller definitely needs two people one to make sure the pill goes in and is swallowed and the second to firmly hold cat particularly her paws. After leaving our place we headed to daughter's abode where we were greeted by a nature strip strewn with her household garbage - today was bin day in her street. There was no bin in sight. It appeared that someone had tipped her bin out and stolen the bin. After dosing the cat we found a large bin bag, collected the scattered garbage and took it back to our place so that it could go out with ours tomorrow.

Off we headed again an hour later than we had intended. There was little likelihood of ice on the roads at this time even though there was quite thick frost on the road edges at Latrobe, Deloraine and Westbury. We turned off the Midlands Highway on to the Mud Walls Road and headed through Colebrook and Campania then on to Sorell and Midway Point. This was one of the moveable caches on our list.

Found this one in its safe hide will take it on a little trip to fulfil the requirements of a DZ Trophy.

Hello Rigger64 thanks for the cache.
I was on my way out to do some caching and noticed that some of the caches in this area have changed so I pulled off the road and went for a little walk to see what I could find. I did like this cache of yours and it name very creative. I noticed in the description for the log that the trailed comes off, well no longer as someone has taped it up for you so they won’t get separated.
I didn’t move it so it is still in place.

A good hide considering the size of this cache. Found quickly and I've left it in place, as I'm notorious for not rehiding quickly.
Thanks for the cache!

Hi Rigger64
The final day of a four day trip racking up 1535kms. Starting at Huonville to Ulverstone (Night One); to Marrawah (Night 2); Arthur River back to Burnie (Night 3) and day four to Launceston and back to Huonville - a great trip!

This was the 10th today, 67th cache of the trip.

Parked right next to the cache and effected a very quick find

Sainted the cache at 1435hrs.
TFTC and cheers

Great - four moveable just across the road from where I was working today. Went in early and grabbed it before work - which was a good idea as no one was out and about in the park at 7.30am. Well hidden under lots of leaves

Out at lunchtime today to pick up moveables for a trip to Tassie next week. This one has hanging around Vic for a while, hopefully a move down south will help generate some more interest.

Thanks Rigger64 for the moveable. Maybe I can finally find a truck stop. Clan CerberusClan Cerberus
