Description

Bao-Bao is a Soft Magnetic Froggy in the Leap-Frog Race!

"Bao-Bao" is Chinese Mandarin for "Cuddle Me"!

Bao-Bao is a Brito-Chinese Frog from Brighton, England.

She WON the 2011-12 LEAP FROG RACE!!!!!

(With the longest single move of 17,208.45km, and the greatest total distance with 34,406.11km)

She is a Green Climbing Frog with magnetic attraction powers. So rather than trees she  likes to hang around on Poles and other metal areas. Her Boy-frog is Zao-Zao from Sydney  and they want to try to find each other and then run away again over in Australia during the  GCA Leap Frog Event. Please help her explore this big new land! England is far too cold in  Winter for any self respecting Frog to call home.

If you find her, take her with you and log a "FOUND" Entry. Then find her a new home and  take the co-ordinates there and come back to log a "MOVED" entry.

At the end of the Leap Frog Race she was going to retire on her winnings and relax with her owner.... but Zalgariath the nasty so-and-so had other plans. He tagged her with a TB tracking dog-tag and sent her to China with the Mission to return to Australia. So now you can hide her as a normal Movable and log her yourself, or I will move her when a non-GCA person places her in a GC cache :D

Met this guy in a virtual GCA event tonight.

Thanks for sharing a little piece of history.

Thanks Zalgarieth for bringing Bao-Bao out of retirement for an appearance at the GCA B'day (online) event. To be able to log lots of events and two moveables while socially isolating (I'm going to hate this expression forever) made Geocaching Australia's birthday a day to remember. TFTM Zhaomin.

Sorry about the delay. I finally figured out how to log this cache on GCA - I don't usually do GCA caches.

I'm not heading to Sydney, but may be able to offer Queensland, and possibly even the UK and Germany in the next 5-6 weeks? I think it gets warmer in England in summer...

Dropped off in GC3KRMG: Small TB drop point (http://coord.info/GC3KRMG)

Taken yesterday in a job lot of bingo caches. Eight for the price of two.
Great idea for a joint TB/GA movable. I think I'll do the conversion and drop into a GC cache when I get the chance (Assuming I can find one that's not a micro) Wink
Thanks Zhaomin and Zalgariath

Snaffled this cache from GabGab at the closest drop off point to home. She will be out and about again in the next day or so. I was very proud to hold the Leap Frog winner in my hands. She has certainly taken a lot of trips since she was released so long ago. Happy travels.

I'd missed this one yesterday because I didn't realise that it is not located at the coordinates given but rather, it's at the endpoint of a multi I did several years ago. I even tried to use a combination of memory and caching nous to find it but that didn't work Crying or Very sad (and what does that say Wink?). Today though, armed with the final coords of the multi, I had the combined GA/TB in hand at 13:30 Very Happy.

Bao-Bao seemed to be enjoying the miniature railway so I left it in the cache for those who follow.

TNLNSL. Thanks Zhaomin.

Oooopps! In all the excitement of creating mine and Zhaomin's cache in China we forgot to move poor Bao-Bao into it! Bao-Bao is now also a GC.com Trackable as well as being a moveable cache so feel free to hide her in a GC cache, or independantly.

How hilarious that Pwags was the one to find her there Shocked Hahahahaha

30-Jan-12
Well I was going to keep my little Bao-Bao but Zal was mean and stuck a TB tag on her and said she should travel the world more. So we are going to drop her off in China when we visit next month and see if she can beat me to Australia Very Happy Bye bye little froggy, hope to see you again soon Ribbit

Very Happy Yay! Finally after a very long trip and much touring if Ireland she has found a stopping place. Newgrange is a very impressive Neolithic Passage Tomb in County Meath, Ireland. She is stopping here on the final day of the race so that her owner can pick her up again after the race is done on the 1st of February. Hopefully she had done enough to Quinn the race! Ribbit

25-Jan-12
Bao-Bao has made it to Ireland and was going to be kept by her owner Zhaomin... and archived once the race was finished. However, as I had a free TB lying around I have just convinced her yesterday that we could turn Bao-bao into a TB-GCA Cache Hybrid. That way she wont get stranded over here and we can drop her off at a nice safe cache, then we can "move" her by watching the TB and give her the mission to return to Australia. However as these kinds of moves are not in the race guidelines we will be waiting until the end of the race to release her in this way.

I will 'move' her to her new home once we find a suitable cache in a few days time Wink

Found this frog again at the ZEAMMAFF event. Cheers.

03-Jan-12
This was one of many frogs (as well as a few gnomes) that came along to boot Zalgariath back to Europe at ZEAMMAFF. Things were really hopping as more and more frogs arrived during the afternoon, by the time the event had finished, over 55 movables had hopped onto the table. Of course, with that many frogs hopping around in one place, something was bound to happen, and one poor gnome was bumped to the ground, requiring a trip to gnome hospital and a serious stay there, but the less said about that the better.

'Bao-Bao' thought it would be fun to take over this nice spot, so handy to good swimming (for a frog!). He may not stay there very long.
