Description

Two Cool Hand Luke is dedicated to cleaning up his environment, wherever he is placed he wants a clean spot to while the time away.

As some of you will know Two Cool Hand Luke was rescued by Silke a great photographer and diving aficionados, between Shelly and Manly near the 'Fairy Bower' dive site. This poor Gnome escaped from some unknown location using home made MacGyver type scuba gear, shows how you can recycle rubbish into useful items if you put your mind to it. In fact he is so attached to this gear that he wears it all the time, he will not give it up.

He is a great exponent of the 'Two Hands Project" check it out on:

http://www.twohandsproject.org/register-your-project/

It would be appreciated if when you find and move him you could take a picture of the rubbish you collect around the site and post it to show it can be done. Also you can get an extra smiley on the locationless by Zalgariath:

http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga3002

And remember always CITO, 'Cache In, Trash Out' that way we can keep our playground clean and enjoyable.

I didn't know this little guy's mission at the time, but none the less I CITOed the previously left trash from the table at the event. The universe wanted me to have another smiley (although I didn't take a picture of it, but there were witnesses, yer honour).

This was the first of a few while on the way to my weekly bowelling. A nice easy one at 19:15. He was enjoying this pleasant park with some other moveables so I left him where I found him.

So good ol Two Cool Hand Luke is back in action!
Even though it doesnt look like he has moved far from the Event, we actually took him home, then took him out on the following Saturday when we were out doing maintenance but ran out of time to hide him, took him out on the Sunday but totally forgot we had him with us, GMelb took him out to dinner on Monday night but it was too late by the time the dinner finished to hide him and so finally today JMelb took him on her weekly walk around Blackburn Lake with her! It took a full round of the lake before the GPS got down to 5m accuracy - that was the lowest it would get. Batteries were also low so hopefully the co-ords are good. The hint will help!

Yay! Luke is back!

06-Nov-12
Two Cool Hand Luke has returned and was present and accounted for at today's Cup Day Event at Blackburn Lake and placed on the TB/GC Table by Gnome-Gnapper/s unknown lol.
No one took him so we have taken him home and will hide him probably next weekend Smile
TFTG rogerw3 .... wonder where he was hiding all this time??

Gone? Not so! Luke was spotted at the "Cup Day - 50 Reasons To Cache" event today with a collection of geocoins and travelbugs. Unlike most of the attendees, Luke was well dressed for the torrential rain from the thunderstorms!... I didn't not take him, so am unsure of who he's with, but alive and well (although I think he's lost the lid off his scuba tank)

03-Aug-12
Indeed . . . farewell, Luke!

You had a marvelous history and beginning, almost too cool and too much to believe.

And then you saw some amazing travels.

Hope you found a good home in the end.

Two Cool Hand Luke has been doing some travelling with us and he ended up in a place that can do with a huge clean up.

25-Sep-11
Cool Cool Hand Luke!! We accidentally found him hiding whilst we were looking for another cache, which I might add we never did find as we were in the wrong place. We brought him with us to place closer to the big smoke.

It seems a good story is one fast to spread. Broadway here in London heard about the mysterious GeGnome found floating off the coast of Sydney who made a painful recovery and is now travelling the country spreading the CITO message.

It was such a great story they have made a live show on it. Not sure of the choice of actor to play Luke but here is the venue. Sadly I didnt have time to attend to pass review on its accuracy Shocked

I was so keen to grab this cache after work at 8.30pm.
Arrived near GZ.. realised there was a scout hall with kids around there. Brick Wall thought this cache must have been found by other cacher.
But decide to have a double check when the scout kids have gone home with their parents. Curious any one of them cacher???
Finally after half hour wait. Dive in the bush with my torch. Whoo its still there... Mr. Green
Love your cache.. good humour Clapping
Will move on asap.

18-Aug-11
Hmm, i dont remember there being bottles lying around when i left on sunday morning..god damnit a scout looks after the enviroment!!

Hehehe, the cache i found that belongs to you was the one that's named after this scout group! hah! Very Happy

18-Aug-11
Well the kids and I have finally made it. According to GSAK this is our 1000th find on both GA and GC caches. I think we started in February sometime this year so 1000 finds in 6 months isn't a bad effort for full time worker and his young kids. I'm sure there are a few caches not yet logged in my records, but we can officially now say we have reached this milestone.

As for the cache, we left it in the same position in which it was left by Bronnie, who coincidentially logged one of my caches nearby the other day. This is a great idea, and te kids and I found a few bottles in the bushes in which this gnome resided so we popped them in our garbage bag as well as some other litter found on the street. We did our bit of CITO and will post a photo to prove it.

Thanks for a great 1000th Smile

Ah hah! So this is THE mysterious gnome we've all heard about!

Noticed these three gnomes pop up nearby work, so..oh, a detour was required.

Nearly got busted by actew muggles working on the nearby water tanks, but..camera's hide anything. Yay for being able to run away!

Now him, Harry, and GeoPirate are sitting in my garden, having coffee. I sure hope they arent trying to talk GeoPirate out of retirement. ThinkShame on you

355. Found with Mrs Winglen while on an Arboretum Rum. I may have to trademark that typo for when the visitors centre is up and running. I'll have an Arboretum Rum with a twist. Of course the twist will be no alcohol served at the visitors centre.

TFTG and the second new man.

Candy Cane 101 and I went for a walk this afternoon, placing gnomes in this area, according to some very specific instructions by Black Bunny. We haven't been told why, but we suspect a pattern is emerging. We also suspect that we were told to do it in a certain way, just to make us cross the creek the maximum number of times en route. We had fun anyway, and saw a lot of kangaroos and a few brown bunnies.

02-Jul-11
Grabbed this fellow to bring back to Canberra after the GLF & GFF event at Mt Victoria. One of 50 gnomes at the GLF & GFF event.

A chance to catch up with some Sydney cachers that we have only parried with on the forums, enjoy some good company and swap some tags.

It was nice to catch up with this mysterious fellow and see that his rehabilitation has gone so well.

Thanks for the gnome

02-Jul-11
Went for a drive with black bunny and Just a cacher to a event., when the event was over, there were 50 gnomes and pathtag swapping
Thanks for the gnome Very Happy

We found this gnome while attending the Blue Mountains Gnome Event. TFTG

02-Jul-11
Found at the gnome event at Mount Victoria.
It was a great day! The gnomes enjoyed it, and so did the non-gnomes.
Good food, good company, good pathtags, and magnificent weather and views!

02-Jul-11
Went for a drive today to catch up with a few gnomes that I heard were gathering at an event in the Blue Mt's. Something about the GLF and GFF calling a truce.

Meet a few gnoming aficiandos and even eat my way through a couple of gnome cup cakes (Thanks to Just a Cacher for those) while signing (almost) all the logs.

A great way, and a great spot, to spend an hour or 2.

Thanks to all who attended, great to meet you, along with the gnomes.

'Two Cool Hand Luke' is ready to party with his mates, some new and some he has already met in his travels. With the GLF and the GFF comparing notes let's hope for a lasting peace.
Don't go looking for him before Saturday the 2nd of July, he won't come out and play until then!

'Two Cool Hand Luke' is on his way to some fun and games in Mt Victoria for the weekend. His transport has been well organized and he will soon be at the meeting point.

'Two Cool Luke' has now moved to the GFF Resort for a holiday. He will no doubt enjoy all the facilities offered by the Center.

Do not go looking for him there, this is a top secret location and not at the published co-ords.

02-Jun-11
After his scare 'Two Cool Luke' is now getting a well earned rest, the last leg of his journey will take him back to the GFF headquarter for a short holiday. He will be back on the road very soon. Don't go looking for him he is gone from here!

Far, far from Shelley Beach -- Luke is heading west into the mountains. His first stop is at Leura.

After his good work -- and close call -- in the Dural area, he may well be going to receive specialised training.

I'm not sure.

Watch for more information from the GFF Clwydd Headquarters . . .

01-Jun-11
Success!

Two Cool Hand Luke wasn't quite where I expected him to be . . .

There are a number of GFF 'look outs' in the part of Quarry Road and I'd checked the wrong one.

What a relief!

He's in good health and quite up beat psychologically, and will now be re-assigned by the GFF to another area.

01-Jun-11
If anyone has retrieved Luke, it would be great to see a log soon.

I'll drive over again in the next 48 hours and have another look around the 'look out' area.

23-May-11
Two Cool is gone!

His offsider Harry the Gnome was still on duty -- sort of. I found Harry lying on the ground and replaced him back up at his look-out post.

Hope someone has officially 'found' this gnome and is just a bit slow with the log . . . it's a worry.

Luke was keen to see a bit more of the inland areas before being submerged in the rather cold oceans right now so I've dropped him off in a sunny spot

I had spent all week getting my diving gear ready for a holiday later in the year - goggles and snorkel, diving booties and fins. So it wasn't a great surprise to see this guy on my front doorstep today, he'd probably heard I was interested in swimming and hoped to tag along.

He says he needs new friends since he can't remember the old ones!

'Two Cool Hand Luke' has returned to the Clwydd Medical Center for a follow up routine check-up. No doubt he will be found fit and healthy, he certainly looks like it. He will be on his way very soon.

What a nice surprise!

Who would have thought that our famous 'mystery gnome' would turn up in a little park near Pennant Hills Station?!

And he's so well presented . . .

The GFF 'extreme makeover' has really suited him.

I asked him a few questions and he confirmed that he remembers nothing of his past except for his recent instructions from a Senior GFF Official in Clwydd.

However, he's able to spell C L W Y D D correctly and remembers his special new GFF Secret Identity Number.

He's currently in the front seat of the GeoBuru2 and I'll have to deliver him to carry out his new GFF mission in the next couple of days.

'Four Thumbs Up' for a great new outfit!

04-May-11
'Two Cool Hand Luke' has been discharged from the Gnome General Hospital in Clwydd and is traveling for a little R&R after his stay in hospital. He is keen to meet some new people before leaving on his mission in life which is to keep Australia clean or at least the little spots where he will stay.
Don't go looking for him he has already moved on!
