Description
Cache unfound for 365 days or more.
You can claim a single cache find on only one of the "unloved" locationlesses. I suggest the highest one, but it's up to you. Ie. You can find the locationlesses several times each, for several unloved caches, but only one locationless can be found for any one cache find.
6 Months Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2689
2 Years Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2698
I realised lately that one of my more remote caches hadn't seen a find in over 3 years! It's not that far out... geocaching.com.au/cache/gcqpgj - Boring Cactus.
To complete this locationless, you can find any physical cache which has not had an internet logged find for 12 months/1 Calendar Year. Dual listed caches which have been found on GC but not GCA do not count.
You cannot find your own cache. You cannot find a cache you've found before. If you find this cache with a mate, only one of you can claim the find. Argue it amongst yourselves.
You need to include:
- The GC/GA code and name of the cache you are logging.
- The actual date of the find - must be after the date this locationless is listed (1 Nov 2010)
- The date of the last find (or note it as an FTF)
- Why you think this one has gone so long.
- Coordinates as listed on cache page.
It would be nice if you included:
- A photograph of the cache and or location
- A little story about the hunt.
You can claim this more than once - after all, the intent is to make these unloved caches loved again!
I will be monitoring these closely - no dodgy claims!

Hi Cached
Found GA1335 "Dammed if I do, Damned if i don't!" by SG-3 today at 1237hrs with GoldJ.
The cache was last found by Team Bubble Tea on the 10th April 2012.
My log read:
"Hi SG-3
What a pretty little spot.
Was not dammed or damned either way 'cos with GoldJ's company; finding this cache was a DAMNED good experience.
We logged this cache at 1237hrs

It's remoteness is definitely the reason it does not get found more often.

GCWRZ0 Craitbuls Final Quest - Berrins Peak
I made the find on 01/01/2011, 608 days after the previous finder on 03/03/2010 and the 9th finder since it was published in mid 2006.
This cache as the name suggests is the final in a series and the owner stopped caching and let one of the caches get archived shortly after I began caching. I worked on this for quite some time and searched a line approximately one kilometre long across steep and heavily vegetated terrain over several trips to Mount Gambier to eventually make the find making this possibly the hardest cache I've ever completed. The missing cache and it's clues have since been restored making it a lot easier to calculate GZ and it has since been found another 5 times.

"What the ?" Had been the topic of discussion for sometime on Geocaching WA page and hadn't been found for 19 months so a few of us thought why not ?
The first waypoint was gone but with inside intel, we had way point 2 and continued from there.
The cache was found after much bush bashing, scratches and bumps. But we'll worth it in the end and very rewarding to also rescue a long out of circulation TB.
Had a great morning out with wileyclan, damomo and cabbie1
Hi Cached
Found GCYK3H "Tim's Field of View" with GoldJ on the 15th April 2013 at 1050hrs; this cache was last found by TimTamToo on the 28th September 2011.
Has probably not been found for such a long time because of its remote location, having to get keys for boom gates if you don't want to walk and the weather conditions on given days when cachers wanted to make an assault on this trig.
Overall, we had a great experience!

Hi Cached
Today being April Fools Day (1/4/2013) I set off to find GC1GVRM "Up, up and ... be quick" by pjamesk. I logged the cache at 1330hrs.
It was last logged by Wilco on the 18th May 2011.
My log read:
"Hi pjamesk
Had planned to do a couple of caches on the mountain today but the wind was making the clouds move too fast so this cache became a better option.
Firstly, I must aske if DnAs held hands all the way in the moonlight?
Secondly, I too found the wier by not following my first instincts!
Thirdly; it being the 1st of April 2013 and starting my walk on the Lime Kiln Track; need I say more than this cache made a BIG APRIL FOOL of this cacher - stop laughing - probably 6 to ten extra km, took more time than I'd anticipated and climbed more "HILL" than I had to!!!
Fourthly; I logged the cache at 1330hrs.
Just to help the next cacher; even though pjamesk has asked us not to; I will tell you that I transported the log book from WPx to WPy; a total of xy metres up the hill.
The name is true - Up and up and up ...
but you can't be quick
If you're too slick
You'll make yourself sick
Take a walking stick
To help you complete this caching trick!
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint."
Probably not found before now as it has a remote location and the log book can be in one of nine WP containers on what can only be described as a very steep climb!!

Lack of logs since its publication on 8 June 2007 could be due to its relative remoteness, position at the end of a steep trail up a mountain, and the fact that you initially have to pass through a kind of private outdoor 'museum' of old aircraft and vehicles. And of course it's a multi.
Very rewarding find in a beautiful spot.

While I was doing a run today (30th of Jaunary 2013), with Sol de lune, and we found a cache called Just A Cache - GC3B4K3. This hadn't been found since the 26th of January 2012, so a bit more than a year. This may have been because it's a long drive to GZ in such a remote area. A very nice place though. Great idea for a locationless. Thanks Cached!

Found GA0931 "Acting the Goat" by sirius Tas on the 14th Jan 2013; which was last found and logged by "deadolga" on the 9 Oct 2011.
My log read:
"Hi sirius
It is really impressive atop Goat Island.
Loved it even more whilst on top and the big seagulls started dive bombing me.
The view are tremendous.
The off to find the cache-what an adventure that turned out to be.
Even had to get "serious" about it!
Finally located and signed the log at 1134hrs.
Tide was well out when I started the assault on this cache but got wet legs and feet (up to the knees) on the way back! STOP LAUGHING!!
Thanks for a great adventure.
TFTC and cheers

The reason for the long delay maybe due to the positioning of the cache, having to have the tide right to access the island and the fact that it is a multi involving a sometimes difficult place to access.

Admittedly it did end up being a 7km return trip (on foot) along a nice stretch of beach..... but not too difficult especially given the great weather.
I started at Brunswick Beach (GC37FGJ) which was found about a week ago walked about 1.5km to Simpsons Creek (GCRMHD) which was found in the last month and another 2km to this unloved cache which was last found In October 2011. Now for the 3.5km walk back to the car.

Last found on 27/11/2011. Found by me 20/12/2012.
Not sure why it hasn't been found in so long. Possibly because its a multi requiring you to stop and get some info. I must admit I've been passed a few times but have never had the time to stop and spend the time getting the required info. In the end I didn't even have to leave the car to get it so it didn't take much more effort than a traditional cache.
We were on our last bushwalk for the year, this one being around Altona Coastal Park and Cherry Lake, and as usual, I'd loaded both GC and GCA caches for finding along the walk route. One of the GCA caches, Carpobrotus Glaucescens (GA2187), showed up as not having been found in 53 weeks
.Amazingly, the cache was placed in May 2010, some 31 months ago, and had been found 27 times before we found it yet it has been just over 12 months since its last find on 3 December 2011
Many thanks for the 2-for-1 opportunity Cached and hopefully these 'unloved' caches get a bit more activity over time.

GC1JP3P Stag (Beetle) Party
I found it on 29/3/2011
The previous find was on 19/9/2009
It is fairly remote and a bit of a bush walk through some leech ridden bush, which tends to be pretty damp, but also a nearby bridge was out of action for quite a while which added to the remoteness.
The location is S42° 42.719 E147° 51.283
What an exciting afternoon this cache provided.
Today we started out from Swansea, after a walk along the foreshore resulting in a cache find.
Then we left Swansea and headed for Orford. Things on our agenda included the Three Thumbs Lookout and the forest walk where this cache was hidden, both of which were recommended by the manager of Swansea Cottages.
We had a call from a some friends who had left sahead of us saying the mist meant that the Three Thumbs Lookout view was not too good, so we decided to have an early lunch at The Getaway in Orford.
After that we headed down the dirt road towards the forest walk, and went up to the lookout anyway, which wasn't too bad as the mist had lifted somewhat.
There was a sign saying that the road was closed because a bridge was out, but we took a punt and continued along towards Copping in case the walk entrance was before the closure.
We found the start of the track near the grave, but it was too wet. We continued towards the other end along the road, and found a sign saying the track entrance was 1.5 km ahead, just as we hit the road closure boom.
We decided to park and walk down the closed road. We came to the bridge work and walked across the half finished bridge which was pretty much finished except for the road surface. The workmen said hello as we walked across, and then we started down the track.
The track was very overgrown and at times it was a pretty hard slog through the overgrowth. We had to cross the creek on stepping stones and frequently climb over fallen trees. Eventually we reached the cache location, and after a brief search I found it where my GPS read 5m. There were none of the bracket fungi there at the hidey hole so maybe their lifespan is limited.
The last log was nearly 18 mths ago so I was very pleased that we found it.
The cache was perfectly dry and in excellent condition after such a long wait.
Then we tramped back out, removing a few leeches along the way. Pam is a very brave and supportive wife and made me very proud with the casual way she handled these leech episodes.
When we emerged and approached the bridge, the workmen were packing up and offered to give us a lift back to our car. While they were packing up they suggested we walk the boardwalk on the other side of the road, which we did, and what a fabulous experience that was. Lots of water running down the rocks making it a real rain forest experience.
Then they drove us back to our car and even opened the boom gate for us, so we could drive through and over the bridge, and continue through the closed section, saving us about an hour off our trip to Port Arthur by avoiding a return journey to Orford. We thanked them profusely and Pam gave them some brownies as a reward.
The whole episode was very rewarding, and this cache will remain one of my favourites and one of the highlights of our visit to Tassie from Melbourne.
Thanks for this memorable cache, and the great experience Team Bubble Tea.

To me, obviously the reason it is unfound so long is the distance from the main caching zones, combined wth it being GA.

I was going to claim it for GC19QQ1 Memoirs of a Cacher, but when I checked the logs I discovered Id found it 11 months after the previous finder! Doh!
But then I remembered GC22685 Forster Frolic, which I found on 9 April 2012 and was previously found on 12 December 2010 by Darwinian. Forster Frolic is a puzzle cache, which isnt unusual in Canberra, but probably contributes a bit to it being unloved. However, it would mainly be unloved due to the fact that its a bit out of town and requires a bit of a hike and a hill climb, although neither are particularly strenuous.
I had a lovely walk to find the cache, it was a beautiful clear, still autumn morning and the views in all directions are just fantastic.

Hi Cached
Yesterday, I found the cache GC15W3G "It Takes Two" after finally being able to put the co-ords from the two needed TBs together, When I got to GZ, the cache was covered in cob-webbs as 2y'stassies were the last to log it on the 8th December 2010. Nine more months and I could have got 2 years unloved. Nevertheless, can claim this cache with yesterdays (3 March 2012) find.
As it is a puzzle cache, the original co-ords have been designated, not the found co-ords for obvious reasons.
The cache has not been found for such a long time because one of the required travel bugs had been taken back to NSW with a cacher when they found the TB not realising it had to remain in Tasmania and I think the other has been dropped into the blowhole at Blackmans Bay.
Pjamesk is now doing his best to replace both TBs so that the life of this unloved cache can be extended.

I found Snugglepot's cache on 8 Dec 2011 - GA 1849 after it was 79 weeks unfound.
The cache was hidden as part of the 10th anniversary of Geocaching in Australia celebrations by the McAdies. The cache is located in the Enfield State Forest but not far off the Ballarat to Colac Rd.
It was last found on 29 May 2010 by roundcircle. The cache is a nice ammo can with a nice booty of goodies. It was hidden is an accessible spot. Not too hard to find.
To reach gz you need to take a dirt track of the main road then travel a couple of hundred metres before doing a turn then travelling down another dirt road.
I think there are a few reasons it hasn't been found for so long. The area of Enfield whilst really good isn't that well known. The Ballarat to Colac Road doesn't really take travellers but mainly locals and the main reason I think is that with the wet weather we had since last Summer the tracks in would have not been that easy to access and would stopped people from trying to reach gz.
The cache is well worth a visit though as are all caches by the McAdies.

I think the fact that this one is a somewhat remote multi, with WP2 missing, has led to the lack of finds.

Found 'Colour in Canberra Too' today. GC1GRGB. It was last found on 1 AUg 2010. It is a puzzle cache so the posted co-ords here are the posted co-ords for the cache....not the GZ. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the fun and locationless.

Frome Home GA1896 Moorina Tasmania - last found 27th August 2010 - 58 weeks unfound.
Cache located near a dam that is situated in North East Tasmania a bit out of the way so this may be why not a lot of visits.

Today we found "New Beginnings" (GC2EKKP) by Tk2.
We found this cache on 2nd October 2011.
The previous find logged on this cache was 6th September 2010.
We assume it has gone so long as it's a micro cache hidden out in a rural area, and is along a track that is "dry weather only."
Coordinates are: S33° 29.423' E138° 22.504'
We attempted this cache earlier in the year, but took the wrong route to it, and not having any alternative maps with us, decided to abandon the hunt. It's a really a great spot, and deserves a lot more finds than just one per year.
Thanks Cached, neat idea.

Up the Creek GC1RQZK
Bush Wreckers GC1TGW8
Homestead GC1TG9G
Last found 8/1/2010. (20 months unloved)
Three absolutely brilliant caches found on the one adventure "Up the Creek".
Our group consisted of Fangsoki, Team Herbz, stairman1,dosshell, captain terror and myself. It was an epic adventure involving lots of rock hopping a bit of clambering and some hacking at lantana with a machete.
Stairman1 collected all of ticks on our behalf, I took a leech for a bit of a ride and captain terror blazed a trail home with the machete that Mr Herbz had brought along.
Some great caches that really need some more loving for geocachers visiting the Gold Coast hinterland.

Discovered this interesting and, for a time, somewhat mystifying multi together with rogerw3 and Cousin Drew from the USA.
Why was it not found for a period of more than 19 months? I guess it's because it's in a relatively remote area and is a multi. Maybe WP2 stopped a number of searchers too.

This nice multi was found again today with pjmpjm and cousin Drew from the USA. the last find for 'A Day at the Office' GC5977 was January 17, 2020 so it had lain there neglected by all for over 19 months! Yet it is still there in great condition and quite an amazing view from the final destination, well worth the effort to get there.

Unfound because the key to the cache has been missing for 12 months.

373. Another cache where you wonder why it's gone so long unfound. GC1VFE3 Namadgi Art ? Bear right was last found April 24 2010. Yes it's a bit of a hike but probably only around 4km return and you are in the open air. Seriously nice walk with a lot of uphill track on the way in - but it's all downhill on the way back.
TFTL and the anniversary.

Today I managed a FTF on "Crystal Views" GA2475. I'm a bit surprised that this one has been around for over a year without a find. It turned out to be an easy find today due to a recent fire clearing the undergrowth. The view is well worth the 15 minute walk to GZ. Thanks for the locationless cache, Cached.
The GC/GA code and name of the cache you are logging.
The Division Bell (GC2110)
The actual date of the find:
14/08/11
The date of the last find:
The previous find to this was 4/08/2010
The last find was 28/8/11
Why you think this one has gone so long.
It is a multi and it is on the side of the Bells Line of Road and can be difficult to find the parking spot.
Coordinates as listed on cache page.

Found GC13323, da Ledg..end on 7 Aug 2011, 13 months after the previous find on 7 Jul 2010. Scary cache and well hidden, you can sort of appreciate why it doesn't get many finds!
Thanks Cached!
WanderingAus wandered by on day 24 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at Coconut Grove Senior Cits for another couple of hours of line dancing, and spent a good 20 minutes attempting a GAFF 0 find of GA2044 A Rainforest Loop by Denisjoh & Robjoh without success. All I knew was the name, the size, and the difficulty and terrain. I checked every log, tree and rock for about 20 metres from my fairly consistent GZ and couldn't come up with the goods, but I was prevented from searching one likely area by a large tree which had been felled by Cyclone Carlos, which battered Darwin and Top End on 15 February 2011. Even ignoring the "wheelchair accessable" terrain 1 and extending to 10 metres from the path didn't reveal anything.
I wandered back on day 54 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at the stop for the free Casino Bus I had almost 6 hours of caching time available. I decided to have another crack at GA2044 A Rainforest Loop, and when I got near GZ I saw that the large tree which had been felled by Cyclone Carlos had been removed, exposing the area I'd been unable to access on my last visit.

This pair of trees were felled by Cyclone Carlos, which battered Darwin and the Top End on 15 February 2011. One has been trimmed down, the other is still complete, but on it's side exposing it's roots.
I knew I was looking for a REGULAR sized cache, so there weren't a lot of places it could possibly be hidden, could it? After almost giving up I checked one last very small crevice, and found another of those smallest Sistema containers for a fairly slow find, and due to advice from the owner it was a GAFF 4 find, although if not for the fallen tree I'd have probably found it as a GAFF 0.
The cache had last been found on 11 June 2010 by Rock-hopper. The long gap between finds was probably mainly because it was a Geocaching Australia cache, which thins the field of hunters dramatically. The intervening wet season, and the cyclone and it's felling of that big tree, wouldn't have helped. This was a Difficulty 3 Terrain 2.5 traditional in rainforest, with very heavy overhead cover, which may have deterred other hunters too. It was Hidden on 10 May 2010 and found on 7 June 2010, and then on 11 June 2010. I claimed the Third To Find.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 52 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at Coconut Grove Senior Cits for another couple of hours of line dancing. I'd already done all the hard work to find the multi-cache GC2ADGV Those Magnificent Men (& Women) in the Top End by thelandlockedsailor on two previous visits, all I had to do now was find the prize. I was fortunate to find it in the third place I checked.
The cache had last been found on 14/07/2010 by wewak. A muggle presence in the vicinity of GZ had me abandon the hunt, and I had intended to go back within a day or two, but I noticed in GSAK that the "Last Found" was 14 Jul 2010.
I decided to run the risk of missing out on the 6 Months Unfound for the chance of claiming this one in less than 4 weeks, and it paid off.
I can't understand the long gap between finds, this was a Difficulty 1.5 Terrain 1.5 multi-cache in the suburbs. It was Hidden on 04/07/2010 and found on 06/07/2010, then twice on 14/07/2010. I claimed the Fourth To Find.
The CO thelandlockedsailor invited/suggested "Now - have a go at "Those Magnificent Men (& Women) in the Top End". It's a multi, but with lots of interesting history and a little bit of a twist!" after I got the First To Find on his latest very tricky traditional GC2XJV7 Another Adelaide?. I'd actually already taken a look at Waypoint 1 the same day, but my Magellan Explorist 610 had renderered the cache description in a very unfriendly way, so I needed to resort to the iPaq PDA to be able to read the required calculations.
The CO also told me "I issued the same challenge to CHEDENT a day or so earlier than to you". CHEDENT is a veritable FTF Hound, who actually claimed the "First To Log" on GC2XJV7 Another Adelaide?, so I was taking quite a risk delaying my completion of GC2ADGV Those Magnificent Men (& Women) in the Top End by thelandlockedsailor, but I like to live dangerously.
Note that the coords are for the published position, waypoint 1.

The 20 month gap between finders is no doubt due to the challenging position of the cache. Although you can drive a 4WD or AWD vehicle fairly close to it, the descent to GZ is not easy to find.

Another fairly remote cache, I guess, if you're travelling from Sydney. But not really all that hard to access if you're in the Lithgow area.

This is a reasonably remote cache, from a Sydney perspective, at least. I guess this explains the long gap between loggings. However, the cache isn't really all that difficult to access, if you're in the State Mine Gully area, near Lithgow.

Found on 1/7/2011. Last found 11/11/2009. Over 19 months. There were 5 DNFs in between. They probably read a bit more into the hint than intended.
I'm claiming this for Old Kent Road (GCZMRX). It's been a while since the lid was lifted on this poor container. Last visitors were 25 Feb 2010. Then today Blossom, Strike a Light and ourselves all dropped by on our walk to Wondabyne.

With a lovely walk to Wondabyne railway station on the weekend, we found a few caches that had been sitting there for over a year so I was pretty excited to finally be able to log this cache!
I'm claiming it for Bond St (GCZMR6)which I found today after the last find was 25 Feb 2010

I found GC763C, Sleeps Hill Trio, on 25 Jun 2011, 1 year and 6 months after the previous finder (17 Dec 2009). This one takes a bit of effort to collect all of the required info, but it takes you through some fascinating history of the area. It's a shame that more people don't do it.
Thanks Cached!
