Description
Cache unfound for 2 calendar years or more.
You can claim a single cache find on only one of the "unloved" locationlesses. I suggest the highest one, but it's up to you. Ie. You can find the locationlesses several times each, for several unloved caches, but only one locationless can be found for any one cache find.
6 Months Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2689
12 Months Unfound - geocaching.com.au/cache/GA2699
I realised lately that one of my more remote caches hadn't seen a find in over 3 years! It's not that far out... geocaching.com.au/cache/gcqpgj - Boring Cactus.
To complete this locationless, you can find any physical cache which has not had an internet logged find for 2 calendar years. Dual listed caches which have been found on GC but not GCA do not count.
You cannot find your own cache. You cannot find a cache you've found before. If you find this cache with a mate, only one of you can claim the find. Argue it amongst yourselves.
You need to include:
- The GC/GA code and name of the cache you are logging.
- The actual date of the find - must be after the date this locationless is listed (1 Nov 2010)
- The date of the last find (or note it as an FTF)
- Why you think this one has gone so long.
- Coordinates as listed on cache page.
It would be nice if you included:
- A photograph of the cache and or location
- A little story about the hunt.
You can claim this more than once - after all, the intent is to make these unloved caches loved again!
I will be monitoring these closely - no dodgy claims!
Logs
GA3030 - Cricky it’s Agro! I found it on 13/4/23 and it was previously found on 6/7/19.
I'd say this hasn't been found in so long is mainly due to Covid, but also to the fact that this item is something like 16 years old and everyone else has already discovered it
Spotted at "Central Coast Pre Christmas Get Together" (GC8HJFB). BUT WAIT! This GCA cache is also listed as a trackable (TBKD16) at geocaching.com! This is true, but the 'trackable' was last logged on GC also on 30 Nov 2019. I win! I get all the cookies!
3 years unfound on both sites, although I should say that this item is in good hands and is no doubt well loved
Date found: 23 July 2022
Previous: 25 December 2015
I don’t know why this one hasn’t been found in all those years. There’s no track to GZ and the grass was over head height for while. Maybe that’s the reason. It was worth the visit in my opinion but I’m a datum nerd so I’m bias regarding Trigs haha. Most people could complete the journey in under 2 hours, taking time to be cautious and safe.
Item was brought along to "All the Twos" - https://coord.info/GC9M704 - an event for 2/22/22 (event co-ords aded here), and I was very surprised just now to see it has been off the grid in logging terms for a while. And then I remembered the main theme of the last 2 years .... Covid.
Thanks for the locationless cache!
The listed co-ordinates were accurate as was the hint so there was no obvious reason for it to be unloved.
Listed co-ordinates S41° 29.396' E147° 10.064' were accurate and parking to access the GZ was good. I don't know why it remained unfound for so long.
From and including: Friday, 9 February 2018 To, but not including Saturday, 7 November 2020
Result: 1002 days
It is 1002 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date.
Or 2 years, 8 months, 29 days excluding the end date.
Or 32 months, 29 days excluding the end date.
Thanks Cached
'A cache above Cut Rock Road' @ S33° 5.541' E151° 23.405'
Found as FTF on 13/9/2020, 29 months after publication (11/4/2018).... a great little tree climb in the Watagan Mountains....
This is a rather quiet GA area, and the Watagans are a little out of the way too, plus it is a T5 cache.
Last log was on 5th Jan 2018 until today is 19th October 2020 =
Time period between January 5, 2018 and October 19, 2020 (exclusive) equals to:
1018 days
or 145 weeks & 3 days
or 2 years, 9 months & 14 days

We found these two caches on 20.8.2020 and the previous find on them was on 3.1.2015.
So over 5 years since they were last found.
A difficult but beautiful scenic walk through a mixture of good old aussie bush, extensive manfern groves and picturesque creek walks.
Have included some photos in the gallery.
Thanks.
It was last found 13 April 2018, so over 2 years unfound.
Why I think that this has been unfound for so long is that is a mystery cache and people either love them or ignore them. I used to be the latter but have had a lot of time on my hands recently, so I have been solving a few mystery caches and there may be more people out there now doing the same.
GC4A3VQ the major made a creek.
Found 14th March 2020. Previous find May 2017.
Involved a puzzle and a paddle on the Goulburn river. Then a tree climb.
Many thanks

Why so unloved - probably because it is off the track a little and most peopl wan to walk in the gorge. The sign makes you aware of the old building but that's all.
Thanks Cached

Maybe because you have to go up a slight incline and sort of out of your way from Wetrribee Gorge?
GA0810: Hey Sugar Loaf, a traditional cache owned by cached at the Seal Rocks Lighthouse

We found this particular cache called Joe's Place GC23YNP on 9/7/19 on our trip across to Clearwater, Queanbeyan.
The waypoints for the cache we found that qualifies for this Locationless Cache are: S32 37.246 E137 29.950
Thanks for the Locationless Cache. I will put a photo up when I can edit this on the iphone
In this case I found a Trig that hadn't been found for over two years. TP5524 Nailcan Trig in NSW. Previous finder Tankengine 21 Apr 13 - we found it 8 Jun 15. No reason why it was unloved - it was a pretty easy find in an accessible area.
TFTC !!
Found this cache on the 29th of April 2019 whilst working close to the area.
The last find on this cache was 22nd of September 2012 so it was unloved for 2410 days.
i think the reason this one was so long between finds was that the original co ordinance was out by 16m, you could see were a lot of foot traffic had been to were original
co-ordinance was taking you.
original co-ordinance: S41° 28.052' E146° 20.948'
more accurate co-ordinance: S41° 28.045' E146° 20.949'
Found this on the 5-May-2019 whilst out for the day collecting a few caches.
This was last found on the 31-Dec-2016. Am unsure why this one has been unloved for so long. It is very easy to get close to ground Zero. The last time I was here I had to walk about 100m or so. This time I drove within 5m of ground zero. So there is certainly no reason for this one to go unloved for so long. But anyhow it has been 855 days between finds so I guess I can claim a find for two years unloved.
Coordinates S41° 21.303' E146° 4.161'
The cache is called "Cold Cache" and it's GC is GC47429
This cache requires you to bring ice along with you, and put the WP1 device into ice and lower it's temperature below 2 degrees celcius.
Given that this cache is at least a 30 minute drive from the nearest suburb, and then you have to walk through bush up a hill, it is not a location you would usually have ice on you!
So it went unfound for 883 Days!
Last find: 23/08/16

GA5905 "Lets Go Fishing #3" was unfound since 27-Apr-15 when I found it on the 05-Jan-19
Cache had had a replacement log, so I was first to sign the new log book
[TAS] TRAVEL BUG INFORMATION CENTRE GA0446 Traditional
22/11/16 was its last find. We found it on the 12/1/19.
It had been moved from where it was previously positioned and were very lucky to have located it.
Thanks for this Locationless Cached

Unloved for 3 years
The terrain for this cache is 3.5 It requires you to go down a Hole in the rock and scramble back in to a cave-like area to get to the cache. Not for the faint hearted.

It's an old-fashioned pile of stones with a white pole on the top. It's an isolated part of the Royal National Park where generally people only come when they took a wrong turn.

This trig is on a rarely used track on the Nepean River. More used by bike riders. Not easy to get to. It would take a couple of hours return walking time.

MrT with a broken finger in traction, was deciding where to go for a bushwalk walk. He is an outdoors person and was sick of being at home. I dropped him off at Yellowmundee and he walked to the river along the bike track. Then he followed the track south close to the river. Arriving there it was surrounded by scrub 20m up a bank. With his broken finger he managed to take a photo of it on the GPS. Then continued on his walk and up to Mt. Riverview. TFTC

Just over 5 years since its last find!
Was in the area placing some new caches. Knew this was most likely still here somewhere, so after a bit of a hunt, bingo!
Found - 29/01/2016
Last -10/01/2010
Although this was an archived GC cache, we managed to uncover it after 7 years!! It was quite a thrill finding such an unloved cache and putting our names in the log. It was the first introduction to archived caches for KrabiBoy and he was hooked from that moment on.
GA7284 - Dirk Brook Rock. Last found 22/10/2015 and foundtoday by Jinta29 and myself on 13/01/2018
And it was nowehere as bad a hunt as we thought it may be.
Thanks for this challenge Cached
There were a few finds of this trig after mine, assumedly because I placed a GC cache nearby
Thanks for the cache Cached!
The GCA traditional (GA7525) was hidden on 5/10/15 and still had not been found so the cache had not been found in over 2 years, we had an unexpected FTF.
It has probably been unfound as it was well concealed, it is a harder drive to access and many people do not do GCA caches (They are missing some wonderful caches).
22/10/2015 found by me
27/02/2013 found by Team Red Roo
Reason: remote location.
Walked up to find the nearby GC cache which I enjoyed doing. There's some nice views if you go down the dirt road to the west down to the powerlines. Cheers! riokun
I've already done a found on this locationless one in the past so to avoid stats going haywire a noted.
Find before mine - 09-Jun-14 by DazRascal
Find Mine - 23-Apr-17 which is a massive 1,049 days (nearly 3 years)
This cache was a challenge as it is a D5T5 and it definitely deserves its rating. I had fun trying to solve the cache page and field puzzles while climbing and jumping around to find what I needed to get GZ.
P.S. Being a 5/5 puzzle I have only placed the cache's dummy coordinates above.
P.S.S. I highly recommend this cache but be warned as CO is wanting to archive it soon.
Found date: 14 June 2015
Last found: 20 January 2012
Claimed a massive 1241 of unloved days on this cache. The cache itself had been Temporarily Disabled due to several snakes taking up residence, but was later archived due to no response from the CO. We had subsequently found out that the CO had actually passed away, so we went looking. At GZ we were confronted with a mass of blackberries, but we forged through and came away with a great find. Several cachers went on to find the cache and the last lot removed the cache due to the bridge being demolished and replaced.
A rather isolated cache located in a small, not overly well known, nature reserve in northern Tasmania. Difficult to find as 20m off the main track in dense rainforest with poor GPSr reception.. thanks..!!
I found this cache on the 3/12/16 and it was last found before me on the 21-Sep-14
I believe this was left alone for so long because of the higher difficulty and terrain ranking that it had.

The Trig Point I'm claiming for this unfound is TP0963, Toms Cap (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/tp0963). I found it on New Years Eve 2016 and it was last found before that on August 18 2012 so an impressive amount of unlove there. This one has probably been unfound for so long as it's a 4WD only track, 40-ish km as the crow flies from the nearest big town and really in the middle of nowhere. The road in is muddy, with one-lane wooden bridges and the last 500m is STEEEEEEEEP. There's also not much reason to go there other than the GC multi that's at the same spot, and that's not often found either. For the photograph and my story about the cache, please see my log at the above link. TFTC Cached

This was an archived cache that had never been retrieved from the wild. In the meantime a new cache was hidden nearby which stirred up a bit of controversy as we had found this cache instead during our FTF hunt of the new cache. In the end we located the original cache and gained 2192 days of unloved days. After our find, the CO of the new cache subsequently removed the old container so that it didn't conflict with his new one and also removed the three finders logs from his cache. In the end we headed back the next day and elevated our initial 2TF to a FTF.
Coordinates are from where it was found it not where it currently is.
Don't know why it wasn't found so long as it was a reasonably quick find but at least one cacher DNF'd it between when it was placed and then found.
Coordinates are from the previous move log to mine.
Cache was in the middle of a busy roundabout so probably ignored by most. It took me some time waiting for a break in the traffic and then some time waiting for another break to get off the roundabout.
The unloved cache, which had been published on 8 August 2007, is GA0905 WanAus08 - Woolwagon Breakaway by WanderingAus.
The cache was in remarkable condition. Although the plastic was brittle and broken the contents were dry and clean as was the huntsman spider who was living in it.
We signed the log and put everything in a new container, it is now waiting for the next visitor who, one would hope, will be along soon.
Its last find was 31 Dec 2013.
It is a good hide in a great location and near another GC multi cache.
Deserves to be found more often.
Thanks for this Locationless Cached.
Attached picture shows a screenshot of my PC last night.
Awesome views from up here...bit chilly though !
for this challenge I have chosen one of my favourite of all unloved caches. I had been watching GC1783D Crossing Over by djcache for some time, but had never had the time to get out there. It was heading towards 1500 days since its last time, so put a plan into action for the Queens Birthday holiday weekend. A truly magnificent location with superb views along the way of the High Country.

I guess it hasn't been found as it is quite a distance from anywhere.
It's a short walk to the top of the hill, great views.

It's not hard to find, right next to the highway but I guess not many GA cachers come this way.
Not sure why it hasn't been found for so long. Possibly because the trig looks as though it's in someone's garden?
