Description

A cache for cute business names

I see such a lot of really good business names - relevant and memorable.

There is already a locationless cache for Drebleys but some names are just too good to be classed as tired old wit.

Photo and co-ordinates please. Just make sure the name is relevant to the type of business.

I'm putting up a couple I've seen recently - two examples I found in Brighton (Qld) last week.

Logs

Legana Industrial Area, Legana, Tasmania

An Electrical business called "Next Phase", an appropriate and fitting name.

Logging for the Cacheopoly Game.

01-Jun-22
I don't know if the name of the local electrician fills me with confidence they know what they are doing, as neither would be the desired outcome of any electrical work.

RIVER STREET KENDALL NEW SOUTH WALES

I found this sign for the local cafe and deli in Kendall on a holiday when passing through a few years ago. Very Happy

29-Oct-20
I have seen these trucks around town a few times but never been able to get a photo, until recently.

Picking up a "few" unloved days here.

2242 days from the start date to the end date, end date included.
Or 6 years, 1 month, 20 days including the end date.
Or 73 month, 20 days including the end date.

Thanks for the cache bristracker.

Hi brickstacker
The Pyengana Dairy Company makes cheeses etc. and have named their "café and cheese tasting site" - 'THE HOLY COW CAFE.'
Wish I'd thought of it!!
Great idea eh!
TFTC and cheers

CURL UP AND DYE IN UKI
Is this hairdressing salon more than we bargained for?!

13-Jan-13
I wonder how many customers a hairdressing salon called Mad Hakers gets? You'd have to be brave in case they lived up to their name! Cool

Interesting name for a cafe, near Seligman Arizona

THE LOST SOCK
Got to love that one for a Laundromat in South Hobart, Tasmania.
Thanks for the cache bristracker it was a lot of fun picking one Dancing

17-Jul-12
"PINK", which appears to be an offshoot from "Victoria's Secret". They also appear to sell, well, a lot of pink stuff!

26-Jan-12
"Wholly Cow", now that's a clever name for a butcher shop!

Thanks for the cache Very Happy

Advertising sign for “Rubber Bobs”, East Parade, Deloraine, Tasmania
We saw this sign as we drove through Deloraine. Whilst it clearly describes the nature of Bob’s business, we wondered if he stocks other types of “rubber” or even if he is aware of colloquial meanings of the word.

this name almost tempts me to join the club-just love it.

13-Oct-11
Thought this was a great name after I worked it out what it was for and to add to it Shaun was working there.

27-May-11
I don't care too much for coffee, but I often bought lunch at this coffee shop while I was working at Tufts University for six months. Given that the colours of Tufts are BROWN and BLUE, I thought this was a pretty clever name...

15-May-11
I found this bakery in UK when I was there last year. I loved the name and took the photo. Now I discover it may well get me a smiley too. Great stuff! It is associated with Glastonbury Abbey. I didn't take the co-ords but the address is below.

The shop is located at 14 High St, Glastonbury, Somerset. BA6 9

I was wandering around Kiama doing a bit of Waymarking yesterday when I passed this fishing charter vessel called PRO-FISH-ENT. An expensive vessel so the owner would need to live up to the name.

This photo and store are slightly older than the listing date, but this one is quite funny so I had to post it, I hope that is okay?
This particular store has now moved on and has been replaced with Tandoori Mehak, which is no where near as funny as the original indian takeaway stores name....

269. Not sure that it real sells the business that it advertises but thought this one was too good to pass.

Of course the one we should have captured in Belmont is OK I WONGS Chinese Take Away - any takers?

TFTC and the anosmia.

Keep forgetting to put coords in - sorry here they are.

I'm not making any comment about the name of this business, I'll leave that to the reader. But I can tell you they sell items to be used in and on the water.......

Once you've checked the photo, check out the GC cache GC1DVB. The Ump's comment when he listed the cache were interesting.

While caching thru Geelong on the weekend I came across this rather interesting business.

Flintstones is a garden supply centre situated in Grove Road

Surely they have a lot too do with the stone age!!

Plenty of river stone was available.

Less impressive (than Burnouts) but still appropriate is the name of this ice creamery.

02-Dec-10
A store in the main street of Kiama called Burnouts. It sells cigarettes & model cars. The banner says it nicely. Pretty smart. You can have a piece of cake with that carton or car as well.

A play on what the early explorers & settlers faced when moving into the Vast Interior.

This one is in Mittagong & I saw one in Wollongong last week. Neither location could be described as being part of the Vast Interior so they should be moved west of the divide, hey. I would tick Worth Stopping but I have never set foot in one so don't know. Thanks.

Unfortunately "Drebley" has been archived Sad The good news is here we get the best of both worlds! Wit and Cleverness Wink

Need some signs made? Banners to hang? Promotional gear? Annandale, NSW

Why not leave it to... wait for it... "Prints Charming"

Oh Dear, so very clever yet so droll Laughing

20-Nov-10
OH no! I passed a truck with "The Full Monty Stripping " on it and it's a renovation business - they do the paint stripping. I couldn't go back just then and where was my camera when I needed it.

12-Nov-10
As geocachers we are constantly chasing those little smiley faces.

Here is the business in Southport that most cachers should appreciate.

TFTC Bristracker. I am sure you may have passed this one a few times.

I took some photos of some cool business names while in St Kilda. One of them was a vegetarian eatery called "Lentil as Anything".

06-Nov-10
Don't know whether this is of the tired old wit variety or whether it fits here, so I'll try this one. I have been inside but their range didn't suit my late dog's breed.

Let's see how creative our business owners can be.
