Find Eight (8) Unique Cache Types in a Day

Credit for this Cache Idea (...Shamelessly Stolen Idea)  goes to Dazzatron!

Find 8 Different Types of Caches in 1 Day!

Building on Dazzatrons two lovely caches "5 for 1" and "6 for 1" comes the inevitable "8 for 1"! To log this cache all you need to do is to find at least 8 caches in one day. Sounds easy? Well there is a slight twist... there must be at least 8 Different types of caches. It's only 8 Possible types but will require some planing to grab those "Rare" Cache Types. I did this in Brisbane today, so here is a Locationless to Celebrate! :D

CONDITIONS:

  1. Mixing Geocaching.com and Geocaching.com.au IS allowed
  2. Only Australian and Kiwi Caches can count
  3. "A Day" is Midnight to Midnight
  4. May only be claimed ONCE per cacher/team
  5. May NOT be claimed on the same day as "5 for 1" or "6 for 1" or "A Real Busy Day (12 in 1)" LOC Caches
  6. No Claims Before 1st August 2010
  7. All Cache Types are allowed including:
  • Traditional - A hidden stash comprising at minimum a log book (GC and GCA)

Cache updated to include the newer GCA cache type. Well this have become a little easier but most of the newer cache types are so rare I've left the D/T alone. Good luck!

Hint - If you take a peek at Chatswood, NSW you may find an oddly diverse collection of caches in close proximity... Whistle

Can we find history and night caches too? And any other newer types?

On 29-10-15, I found 8 different cache types while in Melbourne. I didn't set out to do 8 in a day, but when I saw I'd done 7 different cache types, I went out and completed an earthcache close to where I was staying in Williamstown just to add another cache type to my tally for the day. Now I find it qualifies me for this cache ... bonus!

Did this one by pure accident, with no planning at all Very Happy . We only had one goal when we came into the City today, to complete the GPS Mission for GA1764. All the other caches we did were just the ones we ended up doing while out, without thought of the number of different types we were doing.

I did got lucky - Team Canary sneakily put a moveable cache in my backpack (one of those evil ones that get passed directly on to an unsuspecting fellow cacher).

And finally, a letterbox hybrid got publshed near home while we were out today, and because no one had logged a find by the time we got back to Springwood, I went looking for a FTF late in the day. If someone else had already found it, I would have left it for anothr day instead of walking down a bush track in the dark. As a bonus, I got the FTF as well Smile.

My qualifying caches:
Unknown - GC2TFFY - Snakes & Ladders
Tradional - GC2RR2E - Round Tower
Multi - GC2T2A4 - Culpam Poena Premit Comes
Webcam - GA2673 - Road Web-Cam #5 - William St CBD
Virtual - GA3845 - Not So Hidden Hyde #1
Letterbox Hybrid - GC3GY12 - Bush mountains letterbox
Trig - TP6007 - Central
Moveable - GA3395 - Coffee Break

And with this locationless added, that really makes 9 different types for the day Dancing .

Well, I DID do the 12 in one day with Laighside Legends but I guess 12 is too many Shocked , so I shall have to try and attain this 'find' also some other time.

WanderingAus wandered by, meandering around Albany as part of GC2KA92 WA Caching 10th Birthday Bash - Albany 2011 by tangowithcupcake, and found five different types of caches as part of GC2P0NW ABCD Challenge: A busy caching day by tangowithcupcake. That made it a real "two for one", qualifying me for GA1578 Five For One by Dazzatron, and with GC2P0NW ABCD Challenge: A busy caching day by tangowithcupcake it also qualified me for GA2054 Six For One by Dazzatron.

I was going to claim finds of those caches, but then I realised I'd also found an earthcache and a moveable cache, which qualified me for this cache. My chances of finding a five or six in the future are much better than another eight, so I haven't claimed finds on those.

My eight cache types were:
Event GC2KA92 WA Caching 10th Birthday Bash - Albany 2011 by tangowithcupcake ,
Trad GC2PK5D Cheynes II by Rainbow Coasters,
Multi GC1JT7C Last known address - Albany by richlink,
CITO GC2P24H Cleaning up the wagon by tangowithcupcake,
hybrid letterbox GC2P0WT Horse laugh by tangowithcupcake,
Unknown/Mystery GC2P0NW ABCD Challenge: A busy caching day by tangowithcupcake,
Earthcache GC28WGJ Bridging the Gap - An Accidental Meeting by AusTrackers,
Moveable GA2921 GeGnome - Wilbur the ZuluTroop Scout by Cached

*Recommended* *Overall Experience: 3*

With the introduction of the near ULTIMATE feat along these lines, A Real Busy Day (12 In 1 Day), I have dropped this cache to 4.5 Difficulty as obviously 12 is now the 5 star version of this cache. However I compensated by adding half a star to the terrain Very Happy Good Luck!

Yay, *FTF* for Gunnie69 on a fleeting visit to Wollongong. In town for work, I decided to head down a day early and avail myself of a few local caches. I had also committed to grabbing as many cache types as I could on the day, before I knew of this locationless cache... Thanks to Ghostgums for bringing it to my attention... Smile

I secured the 8 caches required, details are...

GC19B7P Has the postie come yet 2 - Letterbox Cache
GC1T9Y9 Lone Pine - Multi Cache
