Description

Do You Feel Lucky is one of the new mystery caches in Newport Lakes Park

Do you feel lucky

When you work out the co-ordinates you can use the co-ordinate verification checker from the navigation bar on the right hand side of the page.

You are seeking a 2 litre sistema container which has been hidden in an ammo can for longevity and duraility. Please try to hide the cache well so as it can't be seen from the approaching track.

I hope you enjoy this simple puzzle and the area that is Newport Lakes Park.

Today I was feeling lucky as having not gotten anywhere with this puzzle cache before I managed to get it sorted this morning before I headed off to get the other two in this park. This should have been my #3 (I seemed to be inadvertently doing them in ID code order) but upon arriving at GZ I discovered not a cache, just a imprint where it should have been and a couple of discarded swag items (it dog finger-puppet and a golden silicone frog) that must have escaped Sad I'll send the CO my photos as proof of "find", and log a maintenance request too. Bugger! I hate it when caches go missing - another case of the ammo-can bandit?... Twisted EvilCrying or Very sad

While wandering around checking Diver at Night I was able to collect these puzzles along the way. Had solved them all some time ago (in fact I had solved this one when it was on the other site) but had never had a chance to pick them up. Lovely to find nice big ammo cans full of stuff. I did collect a couple of green dinosaurs and left 2 pathtags in one of them - you will have to solve all 3 to find out which ones. Great caches -TFTC

I had worked out the other 2 Puzzle Park caches months ago and picked them up last week but the solution to this puzzle had eluded me. I had tried dozens of different solutions to no avail. I was giving this puzzle one more look before trying to grovel to the CO for some help when I got lucky. I was in the neighborhood today so I dropped in to grab the cache. Thanks caughtatwork for this series of puzzles and the fantastic big, well stocked caches.

Yes we were lucky.

After a relatively short hiatus from my usual Monday night caching run, I was able to start them back up again with my good friend jsmyong55 tonight. I picked him up from Melbourne University just after 5 pm and we headed out to the northwest of town to pick a few up there. There was a fair bit of walking tonight, so we didn't bag the numbers we thought we might but we certaininly had fun grabbing the ones we did.

J had also worked this one out, so we walked around and grabbed this one too. Nice park, great cache. Thanks caughtatwork.

After a long break from our usual caching runs, Trailrunning and I met up tonight to continue on another awesome night out. We did quite well tonight, seeing that many caches are quite distant from each other, not that we were racing against time anyway. Many long walks and "adventures", even being poisoned by nasty noodle shop.

Another of our long walks to this one. It was a team effort. I had worked out the puzzle awhile ago and Trailrunning did the retrieval of the cache. TFTC Smile

Found by Roma and Max.
We must admit we had experienced this very cunning puzzle before and even though that did help us no end in solving this iteration, it was still a pleasant and satisfying experience to come up with the goods!
We feel that being on GCA did help us somewhat this time!
It was also pleasing to find a typical caughtatwork container, one of our favourites most suited for geo hiding, and we don't mind admitting we have poached the idea for some of our own hides after first seeing it used at Long Forest West, as we recall!
We have visited this venue before on a similar mission and find it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Thank you C@W for bringing us back here.
Cheers,
from Romax.

Our 1,000th combined GC/GCA find.
WOOHOO.
With this milestone looming I decided we needed to head for Cherry Lakes and a couple of c@w caches.
We would like to dedicate this milestone find to the cache owner, caughtatwork.
Your undoubted mastery of the programmer’s craft.
Your willing assistance to those of us who are ‘technology challenged’.
Your untold hours committed to developing, maintaining and enhancing the GCA website and your considerable pool of innovative, entertaining, informative and enjoyable caches listed on both the GC and GCA sites.
We salute you.
This one’s for you Peter

Decided to do Diver at night and grab the 3 Puzzle Park caches while I was at it.

I was surprised at how far off the track this one was... although there may have been a closer track, since it was night time and hard to tell.

Being dark, the cache guardian was nowhere to be seen. Mind you, I didn't read about him until just now as I was logging the cache so would have scared me if he had been visible.

10th of 10 finds on this warm and sunny day for caching. Well I had to ask for some help (I am a puzzle-tard) on this one, got there in the end and finally found some time to come down and walk around the lake to grab all three Puzzle Park caches! Thanks c@w!

Yep! I felt lucky.
Had the day off to visit the dentist and the triplet of caches in the park was high on the hitlist!
Thanks for the puzzles and a walk in the park even though it rained!

I am clever. Thanks for a great puzzle and a great location. This is a fantastic park, love the natives and the wildlife that lives at GZ. I think we were both stunned when the cache was moved, we both looked at each other with that S%#T word. Signed log and replaced so he could get back to his winter bed. (See pic)

Thaks for a great cache location.

It is not often a puzzle leaves you feeling refreshed!!

The Cache is currently guarded by a fairly small blue-tongue, who is particularly protective of the hide and will come out and see what is going on.

Another great spot which I would most likely never have visited if not for caching.

Tried my luck a few times before getting the numbers needed. Great to see some new caches (and most of them GCA !!!!) in this area. Once at GZ the cache was soon revealed .... YESSSSS .... a nice big ammo can .... I luv the smell of an ammo can first thing in the morning, nothing better. Have to love that most GCA caches are stuffed full of fantastic swaps but having nothing with us we TNLN.

Thanks C@W for the first of a trilogy in the area.

I had solved this same puzzle previously as a GC cache, so I knew the drill. Today was my first chance to head out for the find, and with the hot temperatures forecast, I decided to make it an early start. I was surprised to see so many people walking around the track at the park today, given the conditions. I found the nice big cache easily, thanks to very accurate coordinates, and the tell-tale signs of a c@w hide. Signed log, TNLN, then it was time to continue my lap of the park for the next two puzzle caches. I kept my eyes open for firetacks on my way around, but no sign of them... I'll have to come back for the night cache after dark.

Like others I had solved this puzzle before, so it was just a matter of time. A nice walk around the lakes today. The joint was packed! I must have seen at least a dozen people here today - more than I have ever seen before.
Nice sized cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

As I had solved this puzzle on the other site some time back, I knew what I had to do - to get lucky.
This particular puzzle I had solved it two nights ago, however yesterday I decided I should be a good daughter and visit my mummy for the day.

This is one of my favorite parks in this area after discovering it with the Diver series when I first started caching. Today was the first time I've been this early to visit this park, usually visiting later in the afternoon.

An easy find once I was in the vicinity.
I'll always wonder which cache was the musical one. It *was* the closest unfound to my home..

Thanks caughtatwork for a puzzle I don't need to go gray early over =o)

*FTF* at 16:20

Although this was the first of the three Puzzle Park puzzles I attempted, the solution was not as easily forthcoming as the other two. We didn't want to set out with only two of the three puzzles solved, although I did consider just going and looking for it using the clue. We didn't know anything about the location previously, and having seen it now, this would have been a bad idea to say the least.

However, Geoson and I persisted with the puzzle, contemplating various theories to no avail, but in the end, we just got lucky !!

The first thing that occurred to us upon entering the park and spying the water, was the remarkable difference in colour of the two lakes. (See photos) One appeared a reasonably natural dirty blue like you might expect, but the other, perhaps deeper lake, was a remarkable light green colour. We don't know what causes it to look this colour, but we hypothesized it may have something to do with the original use for this land.

Having found the cache, we were delighted to also find its log book also blank. Like the other two, our swap store wasn't of sufficient standard so we just signed the log. This make a hat trick of FTF's for us, a double hat trick if you count the GCA FTF we located earlier in the day. The best FTF day for C&C since we started this caper.

Thanks caughtatwork. Great caches in a wonderful place which I bet is not known to many except the locals.
