Description
The 103rd cache by caughtatwork is at the You Yangs Regional Park
The granite peaks of the You Yangs rise dramatically in the Werribee lava plains. Although only 352 m in height, they dominate the landscape and are clearly identifiable from Melbourne and beyond.
The park is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm and you should take the Great Circle Drive to g to the car park.
Car parking is available some 200m from the cache in the Gravel Pit car park. From here you can see a track leading you towards GZ. The track is uphill, but gentle and anyone should be able to walk up it without issue.
One of the granite rocks that feature so much in this area appears to have been precariously balanced on end, possibly by a giant child in the dream time. As you approach the GZ you will see it standing there, looking like it's just about to tip over. I expect it has been there longer than I've been here and will likely be standing long after I have gone. If tht doesn't happen, then the cache is a goner.
This cache forms part of my Campaign Against The Small.
There are a plethora of small and micro caches appearing around the traps and I believe it's always nice to find a larger sized cache. The cache you seek is a 2 liter sistema container which has been enclosed in an ammo can for long term protection. The cache is not hard to find but if you get stuck the hint is a giveaway.
I hope you enjoy your visit to "Balance".

Out grabbing some old caches in this area and were very pleased to find this one after so long, cache in perfect condition after all these years.
The location and type of container make this the best cache of the trip so far

TFTC, TNLN,
We came across this cache on our tour of the You Yangs Park. We have done a few in this series (CATS) and fully subscribe to the cache owners seniments. As with all C@W caches, it is well supplied with goodies, all in very good condition. There is no doubting the worth of the ammo can as a caching container.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt caughtatwork.
Jumped out the car and proceeded on the short distance to GZ.
Amazing formation and I took a few photos as I signed the log at approx 8:10.
The cache was a fairly easy find.
Thanks again caughtatwork for bringing me here.
Oh and 12 months to the day since the last log.
More people need to get up here!!
Always look forward to a GCA cache, especially a C@W CATS cache. Managed to go high to soon and had to bush bash the last 75m, but soon a very well balanced item came into view. The cache was a quick easy find, I stood and admired the view over the valley while logging the cache. Managed to find a more obvious route back to the car.

Thanks C@W
The view from GZ was pretty spectacular as the low Winter sun had lit up the hillside opposite in a sort of dusky orange. We even got a glimpse of the sea on the approach to GZ from the carpark.
Cheers caughtatwork, thanks for a great end to a days caching.
Found with sparrowfall, Eddie_Highpants and the dogs. Cool little spot and an interesting bit of geology.
Thanks for taking us there C@W.
Last cache for the day before heading back to Melbourne.

Great evening, very peaceful and quiet.
