Description

Due to inclement weather and nearing the end of the school holidays I've tried to come up with a puzzle cache with a twist that is fair to all seeking a FTF.

The following virtual is an exercise in using YOUR OWN grey matter to solve the puzzle....please try and refrain from using GOOGLE or another SEARCH ENGINE....to keep all on a level playing field.

The above posted co-ordinates are false.

You will need to solve the following to obtain the Virtual Cache co-ordinates.

Re-arrange the numbers from 0 through to 9 inclusive so that the

The number formed by the first digit is divisible by 1

The number formed by the first two digits is divisible by 2

The number formed by the first three digits is divisible by 3

etc...etc....all the way to the last  number formed by all the digits which is divisible by 10

Easy isn't it?...and just to get you started I've given you the last answer....as we all know from our schooling that any number divisible by 10 has to end in zero.

The final numbers will be represented by letters as such

Before you can log your find you will need to send me an email/PM via the Profile page with the following
1: numbers corresponding to each of the letters
2: Virtual cache co-ordinates
3: Answer to 'What Am I'....and has to be name specific as well.

The aid of Google or any other means will of course be permitted to help solve the Virtual Cache once the puzzle has been solved.

This is a new type of cache for me...so any feedback welcome. Hope it helps wile away the time through this bleak weather and gets that grey matter ticking over.

Please don't place any hints or spoilers in the logs....Cheers.

Enjoy!

Why did I do it? I came across this one at 10-30 at night and had a go at trying to sort it out. Eventually off to bed but could not sleep because the brain was ticking over. Up I got to try a few combinations with limited sucess. Back to bed with more tossing and turning. Mrs Neribil had enough of me and was up at 2am, not returning to 5am with threats of divorce. (she was not getting away from me that easy. lol ) Anyway she who should be obeyed came up with the goods. A check of the co-ords revealed all and the required email sent off. Sirius replied saying sorry and to start again. lol but then came clean and gave the ok to log. I don't know if I should thank you or not Sirius but Mrs Neribil has put a ban on me with puzzle caches for a while.

This looked really fascinating, so I started work with pen and paper.
I went by hand for the first 6 digits, working out all the possible variations.
I then used a calculator to check the 7 digit combinations for divisibility by 7 (no shortcuts that I know of other than just try the division!), then back to by hand for the rest.
Then when I used Google Maps to check where the coords were, I fell for the trick of looking where it said the nearest address was, which was, well, unlikely...
After about 15 minutes of studying the 1:25000 maps online, I realised my mistake, and quickly identified the cache location.
Thanks to sirius Tas for the quick reply, a mental challenge, and a nice final location (I've actually considered taking the family here for a holiday).

Even though I could've solved this a long time ago... I only discovered the cache existed when I knew I would be driving past, so I took the description with me and solved it one evening. I sent the required email and promptly received the OK to log a find.

Thanks for the different sort of virtual.

This cache took quite a bit of thinking about. One of the numbers was easily identifiable, but the rest were trial and error. Sent off the email and got the good news back this morning.

Thanks Sirius Tas, this was an interesting little puzzler.

I love puzzles and did this one over breakfast. The other half did the rest of the task once I had the puzzle solved so it was a team effort. Thanks Sirius Tas.

Wow, that was one hell of a mind bender. Still, if it was easy, it wouldn't be so satisfying when you finally work out the answer.

Wasn't sure what I was doing at first, but figured out an answer and got the go-ahead to log! Enjoyed finding the cache location, great to have a virtual, as I'm not sure how long it'd take me to get there to log a traditional! Thanks for the cache, Sirius. I liked the concept.

A challenge like this I can hardly resist.
What I am? A geocaching loving person with a lot off patience Smile.
It took me an hour to solve the problem, but that's more satisfying.

Thanks to Sirius Tas for the quick reply.

What a great cache.
Took about 45 min to solve, something to occupy my time on the drive from Gosford to Sydney.
Look forward to further caches like this.
Thanks Sirius Tas

With Mr red tag somewhere in Mexico (without a passport or any tickets to get home cause he got robbed) I decided I would have to tackle this one mostly on my own.
I had taken a print out of this cache into work on Friday hoping one of our employees {supposedly with similar IQ's to Mr red tag) would solve it for me but they were to busy to help me out.

Once I saw 3DG's and Swampys logs come through then I figured it couldn't be that hard....Well for me it was!!

now I am greyer than ever and the 'divide by' button on my calculator sticks ..... it appears I have come 5th AGAIN !!

Thanks Sirius, great fun and thanks for the second chance for me to get it right.

As has been said, it required a fair bit of number crunching, but it wasn't as daunting as we first thought. Maybe there was an easier way to work it out, but I'm just glad someone invented the calculator.
That's 2 caches we've done today, both without leaving the couch!

Seeing how we were told not to use an online search engine, I sat down with RomanSwamp to try and figure this one out.
RomanSwamp is the maths guru and applied all his knowledge (that he could remember) and we had 2 numbers straight off. With some theory thrown in, we can up with one solution but it failed when I checked it.
So later in the evening I sat down half watching TV and had an answer in a few hours.
Then the easy part.
Thanks siriusTas, my brain is now mush.

Very satisfying to get the answer the hard way.
