Description
This used to be a mystery cache, but since the clue caches kept getting muggled, I have archived them and this has become a traditional cache.
“Mooroolbeek” is thought to be the name given by the local Wurundjeri Aboriginal people ("moorool" meaning red and "beek" the earth). The name "Mooroolbark" was to be popularised with eventual European settlement in the late 1800s. A rural hub developed around the train station that offered rail access to Melbourne.
The container is a 2 litre ice cream container painted brown and original contents include:
- stickers
- yo-yo
- plastic soldier
- Malta pin
- Corona keyring
- blue squashy-face
- plastic wolf
- pair of Bombardier cuff-links
- and a BWS discount voucher

A nice quick find @ 18:15. Well, it was quick if you don't count that 300 metres up the hill! I guess the previously mentioned gate was further down the hill, but I found a convenient section of the fence that had been knocked out.
What a spectacular view in an area I hadn't realised existed. It was good to watch all the traffic and lights below - I must return in daylight and check it out from that perspective.
Thanks to Team RooBok for bringing me here. TNLNSL TFTC

Found at 13:40. Finding a way into the general area of GZ proved a bit of a challenge - should have paid more attention to Google Earth. Nice views. Left swaggie "Memories are made of this".

We didn't have the necessary info to complete this series but did collect all the clues, so after a phone call to a friend we inserted the said clues and soon found this cache.
Not a bad spot either and despite it being dark the view was pretty good.
Thanks indeed. A most enjoyable series

Thanks for this series. We completed it at night, daylight savings isn't working for long enough for us to get over here.
A great view from GZ and a nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found @ 19:25 with Davroy on our regular Tuesday night caching evening. Quick find once we had gathered the clues from the rest of the series. TFTC. TNLNSL

Found @ 1920.
Found with ggkof whilst on our usual Tuesday caching night. All the preliminaries done, it was off to this one. First the hill, then the fence, but no problems there. GZ was obvious, but where is the cache? Found in the first place I looked. The view at night is great.

Found @ 14:10. I was out at Lilydale for work with a colleague and told him about caching. I think we have another convert as he was very excited to find that the this existed. He was going to sign up tonight. TNLNSL TFTC

I found this cache with caughtatwork today. It was a bit tough climbing up the hill but when we got there I found the cache. It was very nice to look around and see all of the houses and things. Thank you Team RooBok.

Plugging in the clues collected from the first 4 of the Red Earth series, we were surprised to find the cache so close to number 4. Not to complain at all.
We trudged up the hill fearing the fence, but as we rounded the corner and saw the open gate we feared no more.
As we got to GZ there was really only one obvious place, but which tricky location would it be in.
GabGab came up with the goods at this location while I was around the other side.
I fear for this type of container. They are not waterproof and while the cache is out of the rain, condensation may build up and cause some issues as time goes by.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Team RooBok for this series of nice easy caches for a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I’d enjoyed the tour of the preliminary Red Earth caches this afternoon/evening, and really wanted to find this one before heading back home. Approaching GZ, I too thought I was doomed by a fence, but it appears that there has been public access to this area for quite a while. Not only is the view from GZ excellent, but it’s the manner in which the view is approached and presented that makes it even more impressive – well, at night, anyway! TNLN & SL at 7pm. Thanks Team Roobok for the cache – a top way to round-out the series! Regards, 38degsouth.

I've had the coords for this one since last Monday after doing the prelims, but the weather for the rest of the week was a bit ordinary, so I wasn't keen to do a pre-work motorbike ride to finish the series off. This afternoon, things had fined up quite a bit so I managed to slip away from home and do a few quick ones out this way. I parked at the recommended spot and, after a short walk, it looked as though I was heading for private property behind a chain-link fence. Luckily, there was a gate which looked as though it is permanently open and I headed through - to be greeted by some pretty extensive views of the surrounding area
. At this point, there was only one spot where GZ could conceivably be and, after a quick search, the cache was in hand
.

Thanks Team RooBok - a fun series which took me through some areas I hadn't visited before, despite living fairly close and travelling around here quite regularly.
