Description

Have you ever wanted to log a confluence point but never got a round tuit?
Well here's your chance to kill two birds with one GPS.
This is an easy confluence not far from suburbia and you get to find a cache whilst your here.

If you have 2WD you'll get to within 300 meters of GZ a 4WD will get you within 40 meters.
The cache itself is a small one (block of butter?) no swaps just a logbook and our traditional cache collector cards.

If your interested and have never visited the DCP website before ... here's a link to the Degree Confluence Project
or more importantly the actual confluence you can log your visit too S33 E116

Here's a spoiler if you need one.

In line with the advice by Bear_Left, it's probably best to archive this cache to ensure that no cachers are caught in an off limits area putting the game of Geocaching under any further pressure from authorities.

This area's been placed off-limits to recreational use as the dam's now being used for drinking water, not just irrigation water and they're worried about the mud on hikers' boots or something...

Still, if you're caught, it could be a hefty fine and explaining that you're looking for a geocache isn't going to help any future negotiations with authorities.

We attempted to get to this one but there has been a fire at GZ and we finally had to give up due to the fallen logs across the track. As it was a stinker and the kids were with me I didn't walk the last 500m.

This one may be gone.

First cache we've found. Had to muck around a bit with datums etc on the GPS but it didn't take too long for the old man to find it once we were in the right place.

An easy find (getting to the coords) and a blurry photo taken Sad . Not quite so easy finding thge cache, though once I checked what we were looking for we found it quickly. TN-LN-Sl and picked up a finders cache for our collection. Thanks to Mike and Therese for the cache.

To Chilli: yes we're a little late in updating our logs....

Drove out of Rockingham for about an hour and a half to get out there. Got stuck in traffic for a while so that held us back.
Made a short detour down to Alcoa Wagerup only to find that the trail had gone cold. Found it easy enough once we were back on the scent.

March flies were terrible. We'd like to suggest to other cachers to make sure they come loaded with Aeroguard. Wink

Belken can fantasize all they want but as I intended to do other caches on the way south and check out another that has had a few DNF's recorded it was well after 4.15 by the time I arrived so I didn't expect to be FTF. I wouldn't have been FTF even if they had not gone for it as it turns out that I was the 3rd one to find this cache but the other cacher doesn't appear to have logged it. (About 2 hours before me)

From their comment it was they who were disapointed about not being FTF.

This was a well planned cache. We rang Chwiliwr up as we knew he was going south today and we wondered if he had seen this one come up. Silly of us really.

He hadn't left home when we rang and after hanging up we thought to ourselves, Why Not?

So with our slippers still on we jumped in the car and went. We have left hime a nice note if he decided to visit today. Had the FTF card out so if we saw him we could wave it at him much as he did to us once before.

We consider this a bit of revenge. He may beg to differ but its our story so we will fantasise as we wish.

This would be the second confluence we hace visited the other over in Qld. Thanks TLC for the cache and the card
