Description

Snuva LOVES going on caching camping trips around the state, and some of her favourite camp sites she originally visited hunting a cache. This moveable cache is designed to get us exploring different areas of fun in the Bay of Fires.

Although not all cachers enjoy camping, we all seem to appreciate places of beauty.

1) Find the cache
2) Move it to a new location
3) Post the coordinates of the new location with your log
4) Also mention in your log if this area is a good camp site, fishing hole, swimming area, etc. I.e. what makes this area worthy of a GCA cache.

However, please only move this cache in the Bay of Fires area (between Anson's Bay and Binalong Bay). Multiple finds are allowed as each time you find this cache it will have been hidden in a new place, however you cannot find the cache if you hid it. (We'll let your conscience be your guide.)

This cache is a traditional container and has the usual goodies! Photos are encouraged.

Found the cache and put a sticker in it but decided not to move it as we needed to head home. The cache is still in excellent condition and has a great home here. Thanks.

Stopped as this was on the way to Sloopys Spa Bath.
There is evidence that someone else has been here before us and we were unable to find the cache on this occasion.

Put it back out on 14/4, but not logged until 22/4, - Sorry to waste your time Swampy, I should have logged at St. Helens Library whilst over there.
Decided to put it out at the Day Use area at the end of the bitumen Rd. at The Gardens. Not a terribly exciting view from the car parking area, but a short walk takes you to a lovely area of sand dunes and rocks, perfect for......whatever.

Found it
Found whilst on a week long Easter break camping at Dora point with the family. Decided to check out all the camping spots along The Gardens Rd. for future trips, as we had never ventured up there. There are some great spots, but my favourite looked to be at end of Sloopys Reef Rd - sheltered, pretty and not big enough to get really crowded like everywhere else seemed to be!
Thanks Snuva.

Hooray, finally was able to find this one, it's never been in the place that's been convenient for a find for me! It was quite a tough job trying to pick a good spot for this cache, so I just decided to send the next finder up the Bay of Fires. I was tempted to take it to the top of Mt. Pearson, but knew it would languish up there!
Thanks Snuva, an excellently themed moveable.

back out and should be easy to find (but a hint is there anyway.)
When I was here yesterday the area had heaps of families on jet skies, kayaks and small boats, so if seemed an appropriate spot for this movable.
Thanks for the cache Snuva

Found the Troll after climbing all over the bridge looking for Grant Us Peace. Easy find after that challenge. Replaced on the way back home - bit unimaginative but a good photo opportunity - a bit of an icon. ** The Troll gets an extreme makeover **

Regenerated this one and replaced in Binalong at a spot worthy of a visit - and actually quite close to another cache.

Hide is "standard troll"

Well, its next time now and just because SNP say there were muggles camped on top of it doesn't mean they can't find. Cache blindness is their problem, I think.
Moved to another location but not to where I camped. Too many trees, not enough undergrowth and sooooo close to the best toilet facilities along this beach camping area. The cache is now closer to those but has been hidden VERY well. Snuva may like to make this a 4 star difficulty cache....
Thanks Snuva

camped right next to this one had a couple of looks for this , had some muggles on other side . it could still be there but i'm not too keen on trampling around on these fragile environments , especialy with witnesses but i think they were still asleep and with the posibility it may have gone . great camp site thanks snuva

Stray Kate and I had a look for this on the morning of a wedding we had further down the beach. Muggles camped right next to GZ so we did not spend too long looking lest we looked suspicious.

Found after a short hunt. Not going to move it - too nice here so I'll just update the co-ords.

Time was against me (as were the boulders) but I didn't find it. Resigned myself to the fact that it had probably already moved, but the logs aren't now indicating that, so I guess just a no-find for this little black duck.

Didnt bother to check maps before I left home. Thought I knew the rough area it was in. So hopped on Xavier and cruised out. Pulled up fired up GPS and it said I was 135km from the cache?!?!?! I looked around...thought to myself that the bay of fires kinda doesnt go that far...so I changed some numbers in the waypoint and presto! 4kms away Smile

A quick squirt back around to bildabong bay and I had the cache in my gearsack ready to be rehidden!

Loved the sign near GZ...dodgiest warning sign ever!

Rehidden in one of Diggers Swimming holes!
