Description

A beautiful spot that you pass by quickly, yet should stop to admire

Taking my inspiration from Tasmanias most prolific hider this is another 'bypassed town' cache. However...this one isn't bypassed. The highway goes straight through. Unless you stop and have a walk around though it's hard to appreciate.

This cache is in an area in plain sight of the highway and fairly constantly occupied by muggles walking or fishing during the day. So please take care when retrieving it.

Take your time on this and enjoy one of the most beautiful coastlines you will find anywhere.

I remember the days when the structure the cache is on was still in use. Encountering a truck coming the other way was always a fun experience.

Have fun and please rehide EXACTLY as you find.

Oh dear. It was very windy on the bridge when I was there. Found the cache easily enough and then went to work on the lid, which felt welded on. After working for a couple of minutes on it I finally got it. It popped off and flew through the air towards the deck of the bridge. At that moment a gust of wind picks up the lid and sends it over the bridge. Into the water below. Luckily for me it lands the top side down and float s like a little boat and moves towards the shore. I think great, just head down there and pick it up - I don't even have to get wet, then in one final act of indecency and choppy wave createwd by the wind dumps water on the lid and it sinks to oblivion. Long story short, the cache is now coverless. I had nothing on me to replace the container with, however I did find a perfectly sized ziplock bag to cover the entire cache. All the contents fit snugly inside the container without falling out when replaced so hopefully the cache can continue. Thanks and sorry Aloysius, just one of those things.

Found easily as there were no muggles at all.

I remember driving across this bridge and shortly after starting a 3 week run in this area, they opened the other bridge.

TNLNSL. Thanks Aloysius

Swampy

I think this cache makes #500...

Found easily! It's just as well we don't weigh any lighter or we'd have been blown off this structure! Although a warm sunny early morning, it was verrry, verrry windy!

We remember spearing around 70 flounder one night, directly under and along to the east of the 'new' structure, before it was built, many years ago!! And then wondered what the heck we were going to do with them all.

It was okay - the whole caravan park where we were staying enjoyed BBQ'd flounder for breakfast!

Thanks aloysius - for the cache and the memories!

Found after a short search of the area where CraigRat's GPS was pointing us. I spotted it and then sat back and waited for CraigRat to find it - the guru was a bit off colour today and couldn't see the tin for the steel.

The lid was amazingly difficult to remove, but I eventually got in and signed the log.

I must have been blind, In fact I had a lot of trouble finding this today!!

In the end it was retrieved by myself while Horus distracted the fishermuggles by doing the photo thing.

Cache seems to be in good nick, good hide!!

Thanks for the cache!

Woohoo! Felt fantastic finding this one! A great hide. Hardest part was getting the lid of though!

GPS coords spot on and reckon it was in the first place I looked. Don't reckon I have been over this in 20 years.

Believe the restaurant of the same name in the vicinty has great meals and cheap beers too.

TNLN - car so full of crap, no hope of finding anything useful!

Thanks Mr A!

Looked and looked an looked and started again and looked and looked......everywhere. Looked up structures and down and behind and in and under and at water and got giddy and declared it muggled and moved on. It seems el golco should have been on four paws instead of two. Bugger.
Thank you though Aloysius 7 for a perspective that I had forgotten. el golco will get it next time!!!

Is it? Can it be???? A FTF for Snuva!

The structure was sending the arrow all over the place, however despite being a beautiful sunny Sunday lunchtime there were no muggles to ruin the hunt. TNLN. Thank you! I would have assumed no one would be allowed in this area, however I'm glad we are and that you showed it to. Take time to watch the water!
