Description

Pheregnome for the GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo

This is my first entrant in a Geocaching Australia gnome event. Given how few GCA cachers are in my area I am not holding out to win >1,000 prize, but if I am lucky I will get the <1km prize... but of course this event will bring the players out of the wood work, so that anything could happen.

Pheregnome is a very old garden gnome from my garden, and as such looks the worse for ware.

He is hidden just inside a fencline, with the property owner's permission, and can be retreived through the fence without having to enter the property at all.

There isn't any good place to park in order to find this gnome, so please don't park and grab.  The road it is on is very busy, and out of consderation of the local population, please don't park in people's driveways.

A log book can be found inside the gnome in a water proof match container, and there is tape over the hole on the under side of the gnome to a) tell you what the GA code is, and b) assist in keeping the log book container from falling out.

Have fun moving the gnomes around, and may the best gnome win.

Logs

Even though this cache has resurfaced, it appears to be MIA again. The move log states that the co-ords may be out, but the hint will see you right. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case. As a result we are will archive it again.

If the owner can confirm it is in place the listing can be resurrected by placing an "unarchived" log against it.

Trust the hint is relevant here and not the description as there's good parking where the co-ordinates line up with the hint. If it was on the shelter we couldn't find it. Disappointed, we were hoping to find it.

Had a good look around GZ, but no luck this time.

It seems this gnome went of a bit of a holiday and is now back in action after a bit of a rest.

Well, this has travelled and travelled and travelled. Fit Fairy took it to Scotland accidentally and it has taken us ages to get it back out to Australia. Dropped off on the highway trip home, so hopefully this will start moving again soon. Coords are a bit off as taken from another geocache location, but hint will see you right.

This cache appears to be MIA so we'll archive it to stop it turning up in the search lists. If the owner can confirm it's in place the listing can be activated by placing an unarchived log against it.

Cache isn't here.

I've reached out to current Cache posessee multiple times, to no avail.

They might become active again as it warms up, but if not.. cache should be archived until it re-emerges

DNF! I only searched the obvious hide at GZ and didn't expand my search. I also didn't reach as deeply into the hide as I could have, when my hand met a strong wall of web. From reading the logs - Poldark: "Gotcha.... come on", I would guess they have had it in their possession since their log of 11-Feb-16, SEVEN MONTHS Evil or Very Mad
It's very disappointing when so many moveables are not where they are marked as being. I believe Poldark needs an email as a reminder, but I'll leave that to the CO.

Missed out on searching for this cache today, time was marching on, darkness arrived and the cold was setting in.

Also I didn't know if it was at this location as the log sounded like it was taken with the cacher, as other logs for the same date in this location implied just that.

#GA870 - 19:50; I was sitting enjoying the views at Gungahlin Lakes when I checked email and saw this one had been collected. After reading the log by andrewbt, I felt and obligation to call by on the way home and collect this little fellow and his mate. I can't claim the credit for this particular hiding spot as melia's slaves is responsible for the first drop off I think, but I'm happy to keep using it until it gets crowded out when the new suburb expands. I will try to get another move for Pheregnome before the witching hour tonight. TFTG the Monkey King and for the placement andrewbt [ DancingI'm a Gnome, duh!Clan Cerberus
