Description
Hidden near a junction on the Centenary Walking Track
One of Victoria’s best kept secrets is the spectacular canyon of Werribee Gorge. Thousands of people speed past this beautiful gorge every day while traveling along the Western Freeway between Melbourne and Ballarat.
The Werribee River has a cut a 300 metre deep ravine, recognized as one of Australia’s most significant geological sites because of the way the down-cutting river has revealed more than 500 million years of geological history. The gorge has been the domain of gold prospectors with its awesome cliffs and wonderful beaches. It has been a home for kangaroos, swamp wallabies, koalas echidnas and platypus.
This a camouflaged hide, and will probably be of more use to muggles than GPS equipped geocachers.
Please BYO pen/pencil.

The rest of the family were meeting friends for yum cha, but I needed a decent physical challenge for the weekend. One option was to attack another chunk of the Dandenong Meanders; a call from a friend needing help getting her latest furniture purchase to her home in the western suburbs highlighted another possibility: Werribee Gorge.
If I'm right about what the blazes I was supposed to be looking for, it's most likely gone walkabout, as underradar noted. The only DNF of the day's hike.
