Description

Yellow-bellied Cache Hopper Leapfrog - BYO pen

One of several of my Caching Games Leapfrog entries - this little froggie lept out of Jordan (GA4109) to start the race late:

A small, yellow-bellied, green frog sitting on a small lidded container for the log (log only - may take a path-tag or two - BYO pen).

Leap Frog is a moving cache race for December 2011 and January 2012
http://www.cachinggames.com/leapfrog/

Please move it as far as you can within 2 days and hide it safely to avoid muggle trouble, but not so well that geocachers can't find it quickly...
Please log it when you grab it and drop it as quickly as possible to avoid those annoying DNFs and to keep things rolling smoothly - thanks!
Please add a hint to your placed log to help if necessary (I think you can do this but it's been a year since I last logged a moveable cache...) :-)

Leapfrog game rules (extract):

  • Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
  • There is no limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between
  • If a cacher moves your cache overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the same cacher may move your cache (within the country or to another country) without breaking the "2 moves" rule
  • There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
  • Other cachers in the game may find / move your cache, but they must move it on within 2 days

I kept missing opportunities to go look for my cache, so hoped another cacher might pass by and find it. Over a year later, it seems my fears are realised and it's gone... Sorry you had a wasted trip Whitepaws Sad Time to archive it I fear.

Found it after a message from lemmykc, who is such a busy person that he hasn't logged the move yet,

After a spend at chaddy earlier, we came over here to suss out these frogs after we had left some close to chaddy. Easy find thanks to the clue. Nice frog, good to see a colour (and size) variation around here Very Happy Thanks for the frog, I will either move him down to Hampton or closer to the city. I can't believe I am only the TTF!!

15-Jan-12
Checked this guy today, still there. Very Happy Took a new set of co-ords to hopefully make it easier to find him.

10-Jan-12
Couldn't find this one.

As I did not pick the frog up, I'll log a moved log to let others know it is still here.

I decided to go on a leapfrog hunt on the way home before going out for the night. I had planned to log finds on ten frogs, and was successful on finding them all. On about the third frog I reached down and felt a sharp pain in my right eye. I had spiked it with a leaf of a nearby sword grass plant. Little did I know at that time it was going to be a very long and painful recovery over the next five days. While I was able to manage a cache a day over those days I spent most of my time lying flat with the eye bandaged shut. They don’t call it cacher grass for no reason!! Thanks for the frog!

Hidden by Facitman and Mrs Facit at 20:22
A lovely evening for a walk so Mrs Facit and I set off for a short wander with two frogs in our pockets. This park is a great location and we often include it on our route, but it has been missing a cache for quite a while now. The frogs will enjoy the view and will mean a reason to visit for cachers, at least for a few days!

Our third find for the night and the most reluctant frog. We did a bit of searching and had to wait for a couple of cyclists but eventually I had to resort to using the hint as it was tooo late for a long search (yes, lazy indeed).
Once we had the hint this guy was found quickly and fitted nicely in a pocket, unlike the previous two frogs!
Thanks quiet1_au, surprised to get a FTF tonight!
