Description

Travel Bug Dog Tag is a frog that began its Geocaching career as a TB on Sunday 1st July 2007 in Quebec, Canada and as of the 1st of December 2011 had travelled nearly 5375 kms. (Visit Link)

It is with the owner’s permission we are entering this frog into Leap Frog, the game that requires you to hide a moving cache on Geocaching Australia.

In this game prizes will be awarded for:

• The cache that moves the furthest distance in the game period
• The cache that accumulates the most number of moves in the game period provided the owner hasn't already won a prize
• The cache that moves the furthest distance in the game period in a single move provided the owner hasn't already won a prize
• Other prizes as deemed suitable by the games oraganiser.

So what’s in it for you?

This entrant gives the finder the opportunity to log the find & move of the frog on the Geocaching Australia website as well as the opportunity to log the retrieval and placement of the Travel Bug, provided it’s into another geocaching.com geocache.

So go ahead, get hopping....

As the cache is actually a GC TB and cannot be tracked by people who don't play at Geocaching Australia, this cache will be archived. If it can't be tracked, it can't be found and is therefore not a geocache.

This cache appears to be MIA so have been archived to stop it showing up in the lists and queries. If the cache is resurrected the owner can lodge an "Unachived" log against it to bring it back to life.

Travel Bug Dog Tag has made it to the Gnome Gnation and has a new home. He hopes to welcome many visitors.
Don't forget he is also a GC TB so please do log him as such as well.

Travel Bug Dog Tag has made it's way up the mountains to Clwydd to wait for a short while, until transportation to the Gnome Gnation is organized. He would no doubt benefit from some sort of container to keep him dry during the wet and cold winter in the mountains!

Let's go

Found in the company of frogophile rogerw3!

Will leave it to him to move this little guy along . . .

Thanks to the CO . . .

Found this old friend on my doorstep this morning. He says he wants to join the revolution!
Little does he know that it is a very quiet and restful place, not at all revolution like!

This 'Frog' (and its GC TB) are in the good hands of AussiePost and should arrive in the general area of Lithgow/Mt Victoria NSW in a day or so, for a reunion with fellow travellers ...

13-Jul-13
Found (and retrieved) from Our Creek GC2Q575. Currently in hand, and may be moved onto a home for Frogs.

Sadly this cache appears to be missing in action...

This log of 13 April 2012 on GC1EEMV might explain, in part, the fate of this TB.

Good luck.

Abject apologies for not logging this one as dropped off sooner. Have been on a huge road trip with GeoGranny from Scotland and am still catching up on logging our finds/moves etc. This one was dropped off into a GC cache in Bright Victoria, in the first cache we found that was big enough to take it. Amazing how our recent cache finds have all been too small for this traveller. Anyway, it's having a holiday now and will hopefully get picked up soon.

12-Mar-12
OK, I accept that YOU didn't move it (despite your ""move"" log), but that's OK.
So, it visited the event, but then where is it.......
Who has it???????????
Seems GGC still has it?????

12-Mar-12
OK, I am very confused. Frog made an appearance - apparently - at the Leap Year Event, so where is it now? Left up there or taken home by GGC or someone else?

12-Mar-12
We did not move this Frog. We were just trying to highlight that someone else has.

HUH ???????????????
BlacknWhite has logged their move AFTER I logged BOTH my DNF logs below. Well, that explains why I can't find it. Thanks guys!
OK, so it got dropped off at the leap year event, but still it hasn't made an appearance....................

12-Mar-12
OK, went to the coords again, this time to pick up the OTHER frog (which I have already found by the way), and found that frog has now been picked up. So, just to make sure, I SCOURED the area, near & far - again - and still this frog is clearly gone! (there is a cache there, but no frog.) I suspect the last placer placed the wrong frog here, logged the coords on this frog - who knows where this frog is??????

Nice find today among all the Frogs, Gnomes and others over 70 participants as well as the odd human, some of them very odd indeed!
Many Frogs and Gnomes went to Canberra and who knows where from there, and many stayed to be relocated around the Sydney area very soon.

12-Feb-12
Found at an impromptu Frog and Gnome party in the Blue Mountains.

A great number of frogs, gnomes and other moveables gathered to swap tales of their life on the road.

Thanks for the Froggy TB

12-Feb-12
What we ended up with was afternoon tea, bags and bags of frogs, and pleasant chats with some very nice cachers - as well as pjmpjm and RogerW3!

Please forgive me if I got it wrong, but I seem to remember pjmpjm, RogerW3, Toriaz and Taiko's family, all at the party. As well as a few young ladies and gentlemen running around and being generally helpful.

We now have many, many frogs to rehome, so the sooner we start the better!

12-Feb-12

My second find for TBDT!

Great to see this specimen at the Blackheath gathering, surrounded by many Leap Frogs and gnomes . . .

Others will move TBDT further, perhaps to Canberra . . .

Spotted at the Blackheath frog party - where frogs far outnumbered the humans. TFT Ribbit

Don't go looking for any of them before 2:30pm on Sunday.

Bon voyage . . .

10-Feb-12

Well, at least I found Travel Bug Dog Tag at The Echelon!

As Yurt wrote, I've transported him to the Blue Mountains for the time being.

Suspect that he'll be heading further upward to Blackheath by Sunday.

Moved to the mysterious locale of The Echelon Project where this frog was picked up by pjmpjm for a trip to Frog Central - aka the Blue Mountains.

09-Feb-12
Huzzah! I went back armed with a GPSr this time and after a very long and thorough search (no "boy look" this time) I made the find. Wasn't looking for a Chinese food container! So many trees with leaves on the ground in that area and the GPSr never got to under 5m. But that's all in the past now. Too late for the race but at least he/she is still alive!

31-Jan-12
it is definitely not with me it is not far away from the cache (not right next to it)

30-Jan-12
Well I couldn't find it this morning right next to Kids Dump (GC cache). Is it actually there or in the cacher's hands still? Did someone grab it this morning and hasn't logged it?

No point looking for this fellow as a transfer of possession has been arranged.

Now I understand the "3" difficulty rating - found under the 7th plastic bag I checked. Interestingly some of the plants under protection I consider weeds eg kentia palms. These spring up where-ever birds deposit their seeds. This frog will join an army I have at my disposal & after Christmas commence a campaign on the south coast, which I will command from under a tree. Cheers.

My consolation frog find, after I couldn't get to the Christmas event. But it's funny how you can't sometimes can't see what's right before your eyes!
