Description

This frog takes the cache! (sorry that was a terrible pun)

Released into the wild for the 2011/2012 Leapfrog Cache Race!

The Banded Cache Grabber was first found lurking in a local opshop many months ago. Although the removal of bands was planned, he was too good as a cache to keep him in with my collection, and so off he goes into the wildy wildy wild to leap the other frogs and hopefully see a bit of the country side.

BYO pen.

Logs

It appears this cache has gone missing, so we will be archiving it.

The owner can re-enable this cache by checking that it is actually there then posting an 'unarchived' log.

02-Nov-13
Over a year since it was hidden and the coords probably incorrectly recorded. Noone's looking for it, so time to archive, I think.

12-Feb-13
Yes, the coords place it over the fence in the grounds of Beaumaris Zoo. That wouldn't be right?

30-Oct-12
Hmmm, I think the coords may be wrong - they would put me behind a highish fence, and there aren't any (non fenced) trees within 30 metres.

Hi Frogglin
Banded Cache Grabber was collected at a tremendous event, "Christmas in July", here in Tasmania on Mount Wellington.
When I first saw this characterure it needed batteries!
Banded has seen snow, has now been to Huonville and will travel with me to Hobart to be set free to continue travels throughout Tasmania.
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.

Last night, whilst staying in Balranald, we noticed that there were three moveable caches at Wagga Wagga which had been static for about 15 weeks. So we decided that we look for them when we arrived this afternoon. We found the three caches but, to our surprise, there was a fouth which we hadn't expected. So Banded is now with us. We will place Banded out again but we want to put him in a location where there is some activity with moveables. It we cannot find a suitable location during our current trip, Banded and his companions may be released in Tasmania when we get back in late July. TFTC.

This was the only one I found on my Melbourne trip today with not enough near Richmond. Had a couple of DNFs as well which didn't help. Not many moves for this one so far, but he's now up in Sydney where he might get some more action among the local frogging community.

After work I found myself with a few hours spare before I was due home so I made most of the time and went out looking for leapfrog caches and some GC traditional caches that seem to have popped up in the last couple of days. While I discovered this cache I am not in a position to move it on, so I’ll leave it in place and re-log the same co-ords so that geocachers see that it’s still available and in place. Thanks for the frog!

I kept watching it sitting there in its original spot unwanted and unfound and was tempted to make a special trip out but other things came up so missed the chance of a FTF. Settled for STF in an almost cache swap (the spot wasn't big enough so I moved the other frog nearby)
