Description
This frog likes forest leaf litter but is happy among bushrock as well. She is on the larger side for a normal frog but still quite light. The cache container is made with garden irrigation pieces and is not big enough for much more than the log. You will need your own pencil as well. She is a greenish grey colour and this colouring comes she tells me from continually chewing charcoal. She needs a regular feed of charcoal or at least being able to fossic around in areas that have previously been burnt. Charcoal (Char for short) does not need to be in recently burnt areas or currently burning areas for that matter. She is able to absorb charcoal through her skin as well as ingest it. She is sighted frequently is in old BBQ pits. So picnic spots anywhere with wood BBQ areas would be a fine ideas and she will be able to visit some very scenic locations.
This cache is a part of the Leap Frog Cache Race. During the period of the race, could you please observe the following game rules:
- The game commences at 00:00:00 1 December 2011 AEDST and concludes 23:59:59 31 January 2012 AEDST

- There is no limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between
- If a cacher moves your cache overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the same cacher may move your cache (within the country or to another country) without breaking the "2 moves" rule
- There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
- Other cachers in the game may find / move your cache, but they must move it on within 2 days

Logs
If the owner can confirm it is in place the listing can be resurrected by placing an "unarchived" log against it.
Will put it out again soon.
Nice frog, well worth the effort but where to now?
This moveable fits that brief, however reading previous logs it seems to still be at the posted co-ords and is just sitting there waiting for the next finder to give it a go.
So, if you’re in area why not stop by and help it on its way.
"Not you again", He said, "You can leave me where I am. i am enjoying myself here".
"Ok", I said, "I don't want to lug your weight around again. I have had to do it 3 times before and I am sick of your constant chatter".
I see he has had a few running repairs done since I last found him and is looking happy.
Plenty of charcoal to roll around in around here.
I have left him where he is.
Visiting the area today to meet up with some friends and decided to locate Charcoal Frog and give him a new location. He is now safely tucked away with our own movable cache GA11710 Gullivers on the move.
When I went to replace his log the little chain broke as it is rusty.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE THE LOG CONTAINER WHEN YOU PICK THIS LITTLE FELLOW UP.
TFTC Renroc
Still, able to log a surprise GCA find and that's a bonus !
Thanks for the cache, Renroc !
He should enjoy his new spot.
I think he has put on a bit of weight since I saw him last.
I will drop him off somewhere closer soon.
As soon as he started to talk I remembered that deep voice from when the race was on .I told him the race was over but I would move him to another spot where he might find more charcoal.
A frog in the back seat is better than 2 frogs in the bush.
"I didn't like that pond anyway - it was stagnant and full of queensland toads, thanks for the lift".
" But you can't leave me here. There is no charcoal to eat" was the reply.
" At least here I can keep an eye on you while I am at work" I said. "This is a nice spot beside the tree. You can jump into the pond and get some exercise. It might help you lose some weight."
"Boy! Have you put on some weight." I exclaimed.
"It is Fangsoki's fault," she said, "He left me here with tons on charcoal around and I have been eating lots of it"
"Come on," I replied, "You can't blame Fangsoki. It was Renroc who put out the message that you liked Charcoal". "I am going to have to talk to Renroc about giving frogs personalities. You are going on a diet starting now. And don't think I am going to carry you back to the car. You can walk ..er... Hop all the way. That might get a bit of the weight off you. And I am going to find a place where you will have a decent diet for a while".
We arrived back at the car and I introduced her to "leapfrog the Stump" before leapfrog decided he wanted to stay here for a while.
She hopped into the Fangsoki mobile to head to Brisvegas.
Cheers Renroc.
"What are you doing?", I asked sleepily.
"I could smell charcoal.", was her reply.
"But there is no burnt stuff in there". I said, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
"Oh, yes there is but not in the form that you think", was her response. "The spirits are all aged in charcoal barrels. I thought that if I had a sip or two I might get the taste of charcoal, its been a while since I've had any".
"Sounds like its time for you to leave".
We've placed Charcoal in a spot where she might find the taste she is looking for. While there arn't any wood bbqs here there is evidence of an old fire in the nearby bush, also since its just next door to the Guide Hut, there might be remains of old cooking or campfires should she care to forage.
Charcoal knew we were planning on relocating her today but as she stared forlornly out the laundry window, we agreed that perhaps she could stay with us another day and help decorate the Christmas tree.
"Give me a home among the gum trees, crock, crock
With lots of plum trees, crock crock"...
I said to Mr Petan, "that sounds like a happy little soul, I wonder where it is coming from?".
His reply that it sounded like a frog and it appeared to be coming from the little park on the riverside. "Shall we investigate?", I asked.
His response was to pull in to the rest stop and as we parked the car the singing seemed a little louder but just as happy.
"A sheep or two and a kangaroo,
a clothes line out the back, crock crock
veranda out the front, crock"....
We walked towards the source of the singing and moved aside the leaves to reveal ....
"and an old rocking chair,
oh hello, I'm Charcoal and you are?"
"We're Petan", was our reply. This seemed to have jiggered something in her memory.
"Have we met before?", Charcoal asked.
"No, I don't believe so." was our reply.
"Where are you from?", she asked.
"Currumbin", was our response.
"That's in South East Queensland isn't it?".
"Yes it is."
"Can I come home with you? Please, please, please", she pleaded.
"Why?", we asked.
"Um, um,", she said slowly, then much faster "'cause theres no charcoal here and I'm hungry".
"Well we don't have any charcoal at home either", we remarked.
"Doesn't matter, doesn't matter. I'll find SOMETHING around your house. PLEASE may I come home with you?"
"Ok", we said, wondering why this frog seemed to know us and why she was singing the "Home Among the Gumtrees" song.
PS The name of the park is called Bullamakankas Rest.
The frogs were starting to get hungry – but there wasn’t any charcoal for Char to chomp on, so I thought he would have to go without his lunch, but he found some old beach rock that was the next best thing. After a nice swim it was time to head home, but Char decided he wanted to jump ship in Murwillumbah, and try his luck for a lift up or down the Tween Valley Way.
Until we meet again!
So tonight Char spends the night in Kyogle – he’s watching TV with the kids as I write this log. Tomorrow – who knows where we’ll end up!
